Lost in Love by Kate Perry
(Book #2: Summerhill Series)
Source: Author
My Rating: 4/5 stars

Portia Summerhill has a serious problem, she is in her thirties, has never had a job and, she still lives at home. With the exception of her exceptional knowledge of English peerage and antiquities, she has no skills and her recently deceased rat bastard father sold the only piece of property she ever, ever wanted to possess, Suncrest Park. Adding insult to injury, her sisters (ALL of them!) are extremely tal

Portia may lead a life of privilege, but that doesn't mean it's easy.  In fact, it seems that everything she took for granted has been turned upside down.  The father she adored turned out not only to be a cheater, but to have a whole other family on the side.  The home she loved and expected to one day inherit has in fact been sold to a resort company.  And it seems that without an education, she may never find a purpose in life.

When her mother suggests she apply for a position at a museum, sh

*I received an ARC in exchange for honest review*

Lost in Love is the second installment in Kate Perry’s Summerhill series and focuses on Portia. Portia is the sister who comes always across more conservative than the others. She wasn’t my favorite sister, but I have to say after reading this one I feel as if I understand her more, and I have definitely warmed to her. Portia has the most love and knowledge for the Summerhill antiques and her family’s ancestry, but feels that compared to her siste

Kate Perry is professional writer who knows how to craft a well-structured story. Lost In Love is a tight romance that delivers on all faucets. Perry has a vast library of her work as evidence. This is my first venture with a Perry book and I wasn't disappointed. Lost In Love is the second book in her new Summerhill series. Each book follows the lives of each Summerhill sister as well as a side couple. The Summerhill sister we follow is Portia Summerhill. She's a self-described introvert. She ha ...more

Same formula as the previous books, different characters. However, there are a lot of other storylines that happen here as well.

So this one's about Portia, who is encouraged to secure a position at the Museum of British Peerage by her mother, since P knows so much about Summerhill history. But the jerk that runs the MBP will only give her a job to curate the Summerhill collection if she'll handover the Summerhill Tiara... which was last located at her beloved Suncrest Manor which was sold by her

I love Kate Perry's Laurel Heights series. Absolutely adore it. It was one of the first books I bought on my kindle. I read every single one of them.
Now I saw she has a new series, I was thrilled. This series in completely different, in my opinion, from the Laurel Heights one.

Portia's in in her 30's living at home, kind of a hot mess. She is wealthy so she can afford to not work. In fact she has never really had a job.... oh, to be super wealthy. Her family life seems to be falling apart. He fa

So, the description of the book just mentions about Portia and Jackson but forgets to mention about Meredith (Jack's ex Fiance) and Quinn (Jack's friend and coworker). When I was first reading this book and realized that there was more then Jack and Portia's POV it lost me a bit. This has two story lines interwoven into one.

Portia doesn't have much skills but she knows her families history and wants to be able to get a job in Museum. Problem is the director of the place won't consider her reque

This is a great rom-com read. I find the Summerhill books filled with mirth, love, lust, passion, happiness and joy. I smile the whole time I read them.

This book focuses on Portia, one of the older sisters, who was most unsettled by her father's death. She was daddy's girl, making all her choices based on what she thought he would approve of. Now, in her early 30s, she is left without a career, education or direction. Momma Summerhill, in yet another attempt to connect with her girls, nudges Po

You step into the elevator and notice as the doors close that your stockings need adjusting, so you think you are safe to lift your skirt and proceed to adjust them. How many of us have done this? Come on! Be honest! We all have. There is a feeling of safety and privacy in an elevator. Well our main character Portia did just that, except as she was adjusting her stockings to her garter belt, the doors suddenly opened and in came the sexiest, most emboldened, hunkiest Texan cowboy you can imagine ...more

Another fun and entertaining read. We continue to learn more about the Summerhill family, this time the focus is on Portia. Portia has always been the daughter more content to be around history and antiques then forging a path for herself. Finding the courage to go after what she wants she strikes a deal with the new owner of the estate that holds the key.
Jackson is the American now in charge of turning the former Summerhill property into a resort. With all the antiques the property holds soon P

I absolutely love Kate Perry! I found that she was able to keep my interest, keep the story light, funny, build in romance and still have some twists to keep me on my toes! I love to read romances where the characters are quirky and make me laugh! Portia and Jackson have accomplished this in this story. Portia the spoiled little rich girl, with minimal skill sets starts of to get a job that she is seriously underqualified. Jackson is another that seems a little prickly until he starts interactin ...more

Kate does it again.

this book takes over Portia's story which I'm sad to say wasn't my favorite character in the last book.

Portia seemed like a spoiled 23 year old something brat in the first book. All of her sisters have managed to find a way in the world but Portia clung to her fathers dirty antiques. Finally with a push from her mother she wasn't expecting she applies for her first job.

The first job leads her to her passion, and to love. Jackson Waite was a favorite character of mine, and I

Portia and Jackson how the most prim and proper of the summerhill sisters falls for a Texan cowboy is something you just have to read for yourself.

I really love Portia her sense of family is never ending and her loyalty to those she loves is to die for even though all the sisters have each others backs portia always goes that extra mile for those she loves and she never lets anything get in her way, even though she comes across as a timid, shy woman there is a lioness underneath who will stop at

I loved the story of Portia and Jack. Kate Perry brings these characters to life wonderfully, and the Summerhill series brings new life into the world she created in the Laurel Heights books. Her take on a cowboy romance, where she took the cowboy “off the ranch” and put him in a stuffy proper British world was a refreshing take the common cowboy/high society story. Perry also manages to weave the wonderful “B” story of Quinn and Meredith as well, which is just as interesting and romantic as the ...more

To be honest, this isn't a book I’d normally pick up of my own accord. That said, it was a fun, easy, guilty-pleasure type read that, while somewhat predictable, were certainly enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd book in the Summerhill series. Though you meet Portia in the first book I found her hard to like. This book brings her story forth and you understand her better. Now I'm looking forward to Gigi's story, with how this story ended I'm assuming is the next in the series. Brava Kate Perry.

Aw, man. Kate Perry at her best, I believe. Portia's growth is written well, and the B-plot, notably integrated, is probably my favourite in all of Perry's books. I also love the continuity, particularly concerning the Summerhill sisters' mother (who seems to have tripped on a death flag, heh) and Chloe's sullenness (a novella for her in the future, I guess?).

I liked the story well enough, but kept getting hung up on details that just didn't ring true. After years of reading English novels, this Brit-lite setting just sounded all wrong to me, so the story never became 'real'. It's fun enough and has a good secondary romance included. Light and ephemeral.

After a lifetime of trying to be someone her now dead father would finally love, Lady Portia Summerhill decides it's time to step out and find herself. But in doing so, she falls in love with ... an American. Good grief! Book 2 of Perry's Summerhill series--featuring the many Summerhill sisters--is a lovely story of opposites attracting. Read it. You'll enjoy the journey.

Loved returning to the Summerhill family. Because there's two love stories interwoven I would have liked the book to have been a bit longer hence my four star rating instead of five. Cannot wait for the next installment

Lost In Love (Book #2)

I really enjoyed this book. Very happy to see Portia found her love/hubby in Jackson. The sisters are close and look out for each other. Just like family is taught to do.

Fabulous series. Love Portia's story, how she transformed throughout the story. And let's not forget Jackson. Who can resist a sexy cowboy? ;-) We also meet other characters and get to know them.
Bring on book 3 :-)

I really love the way you write about the character's in your stories.

The character's are so interesting to read about. They are so full of life and I really like how they interact. They compliment each other really well.

And the plot thickens! Glad that Portia has finally found happenings, assuming that Imogen (Gigi) is going to be the focus of the third book in the series and really looking forward to the development of her character. Eager to have Titania developed as well.
