Recommends it for: whoever wants to know about someone else's life.
I received this copy from Goodreads as a winner; although I won this book through a contest, there is no bias just because; 1) its free 2) I'm a dude who doesn't read poetry in general.

Reading this book, there was a lot of imagination to be used while reading. Each poem is a story and the words she used really helps paint the picture of what she is trying to share within this book. Each poem is simple enough to read but difficult to understand at the same time. Many of these poems carry a signif

I received and am reviewing this book through Goodreads First Reads program.

This collection was so perfectly crafted and pieced together to make a beautiful story. Her compilation is superb- but even more importantly, Andrea MacPherson is also a poetic master if you ask me. It might seem biased to rate a former writing professors work so highly to some, but this collection deserves the review, all personal feelings aside. I admit I am not a big poetry reader, I pick up books of it here and there, however I was captivated several pieces in Ellipses, notably shadowlands for the poems about the greats (Plath and Christie), and the last section for the author's daughter. It's evocative and rich, both happy and sad at the same time. Congrats on a beautiful collection!
