On the Firing Line--My 500 days at Apple. After Steve Jobs was fired for nearly destroying the company with his "distortion field" of narrow, non-customer friendly focus, Gil Amelio was brought in to run the company. He had been successful at turning around National Semiconductor, and seemed like the best fit. He was shocked in what he found. An absolute vanity book. . . If you read this and then also read books like The Second Coming of Steve Jobs or Apple: The Inside Story of Intrigue, Egomania, and Business Blunders it makes for quite the contrast. At the end I have no idea who's being more honest about themselves or their circumstances.
