This latest installment in the Get to Know series by Nancy I. Sanders gives us an in-depth look at the Apostle Paul. The biography begins in Tarsus and then on to Jerusalem, providing context about the places and time Paul lived. Sanders shares about the Biblical history important during the time and Paul’s education as a Pharisee, supplying a good basis to understand Paul’s persecution of the Church; his zeal leads him to travel to Damascus to arrest Christians there, but the entire course of h ...more

I recently introduced you to a book in this Get to Know series by Nancy I. Sanders that introduced children to Jesus, and so when I had the chance to get another book in the series I wanted to see what Apostle Paul’s book was like. This book is set up just like the Jesus version so it was another quick read for myself but I could see me taking a few days to read this aloud to my children as we went over all of the information and even look up the stories such as Paul’s missionary journeys and hi ...more

The Apostle Paul has always been one of my favorite persons of old within the pages of the Bible. I read his story and it just speaks so powerfully to me of the power of God to work in any situation.

In so many ways, I have been able to read Paul's story, his writings, again and again, and receive inspiration. His words over and over renew that fire within me; when I struggle they help me to remember I am not alone. He reminds me that even within the pages of the Word of God, those men and women,

Introducing children to true heroes - those in the Bible - needs to go beyond the typical Sunday School lesson. Nancy I. Sanders has created a series of little books for young readers and published by ZonderKidz. Inexpensive at $6.99, they are packed with factoids and indepth information that is still withing the mental reach of the young reader.

First of all, it is a "chapter book" and the text is challenging for the youngest but within the grasp of the 10 year old. A 120 page paperback that is

What a great book! This book is for young adult (6-10 years) though I think older kids (8-10) would understand it better.

This book is a pretty sturdy book for youngsters and packed of information. The book isn't a story it is more factual like what you would read in a biography. There are many pictures, which I loved! I feel like Biblical references could have been used more so that the reader would know where exactly things are said.

The book starts with Paul as a boy and how he grew up and un

Get to Know Apostle Paul is a biography for kids by Nancy I. Sanders. What a great book! The book makes it easy for children to understand who Apostle Paul was and of his life. I love the vibrant and beautiful pictures.
In addition to the colorful pictures, there are sections of the following:
Did You Know? - Which tells of small tidbits of information or facts
Eyewitness Account - Which is of historians of the time of eyewitness accounts that tell of the time about the time Apostle Paul lived.

This is an excellent Biblical resource for children. I am so glad Nancy Sanders has written this “Get to Know” series. This APOSTLE PAUL book, as well as the ones about Jesus, Mary, and David, provides a much needed resource for children to learn not only the Biblical account, but also information about the culture and setting of the story. The book is filled with maps, photographs, and paintings, as well as helpful additions such as a timeline, word definitions at the bottom of pages and in a g ...more

This book is a special book…
not only because it helps children learn about the Bible, but because it also follows the Common Core Standards!

This book makes the story of Paul interesting to children. It has many beautiful 4-color maps and photos, along with relative scripture references and lots of fun facts.

The author does a great job of writing the book about the Apostle Paul, telling about his life before he met Jesus on the road to Damascus and she explains that he was born with the name Saul

In this day and age with all the media technology absorbing our children it’s more important than ever to focus their attention elsewhere. The biography in the Get to Know Series of Apostle Paul does just that. Grabbing the reader from the onset and holding onto it till the end, Sanders’ comprehensive book of the life and times of Apostle Paul will certainly get the conversation going. A must have for Christian households and religious centers.

This was my first introduction to the,"Get to Know" series. I really enjoyed this book. Super easy to follow & full of side-explanations of terms, timelines, maps & historical character information. A great reference document to have on hand while studying key Biblical characters.
