Book Two in the Highlander Heat series.

HIGHLANDER’S MAGIC

Traveling through time…for a Highlander.

Wearing the four-hundred-year-old amulet she inherited, Marie MacLean enters a faerie circle near the ruins of Dunyvaig Castle. A veil rises. A warrior from the past makes a wish to win the war against the Chief of MacLean, and as the veil thins, she falls through into his time.

Highland warrior Archie MacDonald has been gifted a faerie who insists she’s from the future and the progeny of both his and his enemy’s clan. The last thing he expects is for her to stir him on a level he’s never experienced before. All he needs is her aid in the war, no matter where she believes she’s from.

Determined to keep history on course, Marie enters the crux of the battle. She must ensure the MacLean chief who has yet to father her paternal line isn’t killed, and all without perishing herself. Can Archie see past his need for revenge before he kills his enemy? If he wishes to save the woman who’s crossed centuries to be by his side, he must.

Oh, Archie! Well, well, well, what's not to love about a sexy, protective all-Alpha Highlander? Even better is his modern 'faerie' sent back through time to grant his wish. There are only two problems: Marie doesn't actually possess magical powers, and if Archie gets his wish, Marie's family line will end hundreds of years before she's born.

Through intense and immediate attraction--very well written and combustible--Archie and Marie embark on several dangerous journeys. The Scottish setting and history is compelling, and the erotic scenes are hot. I got a kick out of the contemporary zingers Marie threw at Archie, highlighting the difference between women of his time and hers.

The final questions remains: what will these two lovers do when the wish is fulfilled and Marie is sent back to her time?

I didn't like this book much, there wasn't much fire in the characters and it was slow going.

Another amazing book from Joanne Wadsworth!

Joanne gifted a Copy of Highlander's Magic to me and I was instantly drawn right into Marie's world. Marie and her twin were on a mission to find out what an ancestor meant when she passed down an amulet throughout generations until the first lady born to both a MacLean and a MacDonald. Marie is determined not to change history for fear she will not exist. Archie MacDonald makes a wish upon the faerie circle near Dunyvaig Castle and gets more than he wished for.

Highlander's Magic will sweep you away into the Highlands on an adventure that will have you laughing, crying and hoping that two people will find love. The chemistry between Marie and Archie was instant and you could almost feel their passion ignite through the pages. I loved Marie's strong, bold and determined nature. She was not giving up on Archie and her mission to keep history as it should be. Archie is a rough, rugged and handsome highlander who is unable to believe that Marie is from the time she claims to be. That is until a twist of events proves to him that she is who she claims to be.

Joanne is a very talented author, who is fast becoming a favorite of mine. She is able to make you feel her character's emotions and you feel as if you are right there, along for the journey that they are on.

Thank you Joanne for allowing me to review your amazing book and I cannot wait for the next one!

In this novel, the author sent Marie MacLean back to 1590, at the Dunyvaig Castle. There she meets Archie MacDonald. Instantly they feel a bound between them. The are fighting against each other at the beginning, however, he looks at her and she looks at him both wanting more from each other. Through some clan history Marie remembers, she warns Archie if a few up coming battles. As Marie is kidnapped by Lachlan MacLean, she sees there really is a clan war going on and wonders how her Archie will rescue her, Mary and James.

The story was very well written. Although this is book 2 in the series you do not need to read the others. This is a stand alone novel as the others are. Marie' s sister is still in 2014, and although the book is from Marie view, and her story, I would have liked to know more of Katherine. How long was she waiting for her sister? How long was she wiling to wait there for her. Did Katherine find love and adventure also?

I did enjoy this novel. Cannot wait for the next one.

Marie MacLean and her twin are determined to carry out their mother's dying wish. They journey to Dunywaig Castle where Marie enters a faerie circle and is pulled into the past. Archie MacDonald makes a wish and captures Marie. Can she prevent the death of her ancestor and make sure that history isn't changed? I loved Marie. She is such a feisty character. She won't back down from this fierce Highlander who she's attracted to. Archie is an honorable man who will fight to stop the enemy who threatens his clan. The attraction between these two is amazing. I loved when they are together! Marie is a modern woman who's trying to adapt to a past where women had no power. The setting is perfect. It added to the romance. The great dialogue and the interesting secondary characters are a bonus. The story is well plotted and is filled with plenty of action and has a wonderful romance. I couldn't put this book down. I needed to know how it ended. I definitely wanted Marie and Archie to be together. Joanna Wadsworth wrote a touching romance.

2nd in series, different, but as good as the 1st

2nd in series, different, but as good as the 1st

Joanne Wadsworth takes the time and initiative to research the history and the geography of Scotland as she weaves her loving stories into adventurous plots. Time travel by various Scottish means, truly believed by the Scots, the stone circle and a family amulet, create a wish that has a dual message. And how can two identical twin sisters be parted? But to return to the present, Marie must give up her Highland warrior, who she loves with all her heart. And if Archie MacDonald gets his wish as he perceives it, Marie and her sister, Katherine, would never have been born. How do you keep the future intact when the two Clans that form your heritage are determined to destroy each other?

An excellent read of love, wit, and wisdom. I highly recommend it!

WOW, what can I say? This is a great book. Love the storyline. Plot is wonderful and it makes you wish for more at the end. I cannot wait to read the next book. I am just itching for more. Archie MacDonald and Marie MacLean are a great pair and OMG the way they talk to each other. I laughed and loved and just about rooted for this clan and these two. I would deff recommend this book to anyone who likes Time travel.

From the beginning to the end you are wrapped up into a world of Fae, Time Travel and Highlanders. The action is spot on and you love all the side characters. They way she portrays Marie, well I think all of us would do about the same. I mean we are 20th century women and that is roughly 600 years ago. We would be a little more out spoken. More open to things that women of that ara would not.

I received this book for free in return for a review. I normally love time travel books. This one started slow for me. Once you get through the beginning it does improve. I don't really think the beginning works well. The author tells us what started the feud between the clans and the details of the feud by having Mary explain it to Marie. I prefer to be shown.

There is some action, romance and heat.

This is a short story of 142 pages.

Highlander Magic

Not what I expected after reading the synopsis but it is even better. If you've seen the tv series The Outlander it has that feel to it. A woman from the future gets sucked back into time and falls in love while trying not to altar events that may cause her demise. Once a wish has been granted she is returned to her own time. However whereas this parallels the tv show our story takes it one step further in having her as a twin who missed her other half. Once Marie MacLean grants her Highlander Archie MacDonald his wish, she can safely return to her twin sister Kathleen. But Marie has fallen hard for her Highlander and doesn't wish to lose him but at the sacrifice of losing her sister?

Entrusted with an amulet that has been passed down to the eldest daughter for generations, Marie returns to Scotland (along with her twin, Katherine) and is whisked through time to meet the very ancestor that bequeathed the amulet. Can Marie help stop the feud between the McLeans and MacDonalds? Can she return to her own time? Or, will she decide to stay for the love she feels dor Archie MacDonald?

Marie and her twin sister Katherine now have a magical pendent from their ancestor. They are told to bring that back to its home in the Scottish highlands. When Marie is whisked back into the past she meets Archie a warrior. She has to prevent him from killing a rival clan leader and avoiding the birth of her ancestor. This is an exciting series. I enjoy listening to these when I need a break. This is a sold series and I will for sure be continuing.

An amulet, a fairy circle and a wish it seems is all it takes to travel back in time. Marie trying to be truthful with Archie about being from the future was entertaining. Hearing the details of the clan wars in the context of history certainly made Marie’s task a challenge. Lots of action with many issues resolved eventually led to a nice HEA.

Review of Highlander's Magic

This book was a very fast read. I couldn't put it down. It is full of steamy romance, suspense, history, fantasy and sexy Highlanders. The characters are well written and the plot exciting. I love time travel stories. The possibilities are fascinating.

Another wonderful Joanne Wadsworth book, as this is book two in The Highlander Heat Series. I have also read and reviewed both Highlander's Captive novella which is a prequel to the series and Highlander's Castle book one in the series. You can read in series order or as a stand alone books. I like to read all my books in series order, but that's a personal choice.

The book starts actually in present day Isle of Islay, Scotland where orphaned twins Marie and Katherine MacLean recently lost their mother to cancer visit the ruins of Dunyvaig Castle which were their MacDonald ancestor's. Also Marie, heroine of this story and the eldest of the twins wears a four hundred amulet she inherited f'rom ancestor Mary MacClean MacDonald. The amulet had been passed down to her eldest daughter until it's once again came into the possession of a MacLean which was the twins's father's side. As these two feuding clans of the past should of come into peace once Mary MacLean married Chief Angus MacDonald as many feuding clan's did back then, yet the fighting continued. This also had been Marie and Katherine's Mum's past wish for the sister's to visit Dunyvaig Castle with the amulet but beyond that they had no idea.

Katherine wanted an adventure so they entered the fairie circle and that is when things get fascinating in the book and a veil appears due to a wish from a handsome warrior of the past and pulls Marie into the past. I could feel the sizzling connection as soon as Marie set her eyes on her handsome highland warrior Archie MacDonald who insists she's one of the fae to come to help his clan. No matter how many times she explains to him she is from the future, all he wants to do is kill his enemy Chief Lachlan Maclean. Archie is acting chief as Angus their chief is imprisoned by the Kings order. The King too wants all this feuding
By the clans to end.

If Archies kills Lachlan MacClean it will end the MacLean paternal line which would mean 21st century Katherine and Marie MacLean would no longer exist. Of course it is like banging your head against the wall. Besides that Marie is also worried about her sister who did not come on this journey with her but knew would be waiting for her at the fairy circle in present time. Marie's plate is full plus falling in love with Archie Campbell on top of everything else.

For Archie he would like to keep his fairy forever but knows she longs to get back to her sister and knows his heart will broken once she leaves. He feels he must kill Lachlan MacClean for revenge and will not believe she has that strong a connection to Lachlan even though Marie keeps repeating she will dies if Lachlan dies! So will that be the end of the MacLean paternal line? No more Katherine and Marie MacLean? You will have to read this adventurous, captivating and fun read and find out the outcome of this story.

You will find some humorous parts too, like when Marie tries to explain 21st century birth control to a 16th century highlander was hilarious!

I look forward to Ms. Wadsworth next book in the Highlander Heat Series "Highlander's Charm" which will be book three and is to be released in October 2014. I can't wait!~B

I love a strong, stubborn hero and Joanne Wadsworth's Archie MacDonald doesn't disappoint. Archie is determined to obtain the release of his chieftain, Angus MacDonald, from the clutches of his sworn enemy, Lachlan MacLean. Lachlan wants land his father frittered away returned to his clan at any cost, and is raiding and marauding to get what he wants. Archie is set on defeating and destroying Lachlan, regardless of the consequences.

But Archie meets his match in Marie MacLean, a descendant of the first match between Clan MacDonald and Clan MacLean. After the death of their mother, Marie and her twin sister, Katherine, journeyed to Dunyvaig Castle in present day Scotland to return a 400 year old amulet. Things start to get weird when they wish for adventure while standing in a fairie circle, and suddenly, Marie finds herself whisked back in time. Archie believes she is a fairie sent to help him conquer his enemy. But the very act of obtaining his goal will end Marie's existence. She has to convince Archie there is a better way.

It becomes a race against time and scheming highlanders when Lachlan captures Marie and her ancestor, Mary MacLean. Mary is Lachlan's sister, but she is also married to Angus MacDonald, a marriage meant to unify the two clans. Archie races to the rescue, not once, but twice, finally capturing his prize and rescuing Marie.

This was a very satisfying read. It had everything I look for in a romance novel—intrigue, danger, the wilds of Scotland, a hunky hero, a spunky, bold heroine and time travel. This was the second book in the series, but I didn't feel like I'd missed anything because I hadn't read the first book (which is now waiting to be read on my Kindle). Joanne Wadsworth has a true gift for bringing a story to life.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the story and read it all in one sitting. Archie is a strong, honorable highlander, and Marie is a stubborn modern woman. Their future together seems doomed from the start, as Marie will have to go back to her own time when she accomplishes her objective. But luckily the fae see fit to grant them one more wish, and of course there is a "happily ever after". This was a fun, fast-paced read, and I look forward to reading more in this series.

I love how Ms. Wadsworth placed beginning of book in 2014 and then traveled back in time. I was so rooting for Marie and Archie and was thrilled when Archie finally realized Marie was telling the truth about being from the future and Cheered when Marie was able to bring her twin Katherine back in time with her. It was Awesome!!!!

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. I am loving this series. Marie and Archie, the new hero's in this exciting and very entertaining romance/time travel novel. I loved Marie, she liked to boss Achie around that was great, and worried about her sister a lot. Archie took a little while to believe the truth about her time travel. He was a likeable character, the racy love scenes were loverly.
This is a short story but very enjoyable none the less. Great!

Love and Adventure

Marie and Katherine, twins, were vacationing in Scotland to return an amulet as requested by their mother who passed. They went to the circle of fairy stones where Katherine made a wish and her sister Marie disappeared to the year 1590. She falls in love with Archie also a twin. Romance meets history and makes for a great adventure.
