This book is a wonderful collection of letters culled from 11,000 entries in the Quiner Collection. These letters home from Wisconsin soldiers to their friends, families and local newspapers, tells the story of these boys and men in all phases of the war - from camp life to battles to post-war. The letters provide vivid accounts of the war from beginning to end and represent a wide range of subject matter, from life in camp to the battle field, to hospital conditions and reflections on morality and politics.
