"Fuck." I slam my fist into the desk before me and feel nothing but rage. I need to go after her. I need to explain. "But isn't this what you wanted?" The voice inside my head whispers. "Isn't this a nice easy way out?"
Everything Max has done has always been at a cost to others around him. He wasn't about to make that mistake again. No longer will his selfish ways punish those close to him. Sometimes it's better to have had and lost than to never have had at all.
Finally after what felt like forever, Jess was getting a glimpse of control over her life again and allowed her defences to come crashing down, only to have what it guarded to be crushed once again. Now, on the other side of the world away from her friends, she doesn't know what to do.
Should she stay or should she go?
Is it too late or have they both fallen too far into something that is completely out of their depths?

The story picks up and flows well from the cliffhanger in Escape Down Under, book one. The unexpected drama, tension, mystery and excitement continues to build and holds the reader captive. The trauma and stress overwhelms Jess and causes Max's demons to resurface.
The ending did not come up to the breathless cliffhanger of book one but I deeply hope there is a third book! I really want to see Stella get her just reward. Excellent story, well written as to characters, events, actions and reactions BUT...poor editing is like static during the broadcast of beautiful music. It interrupts and disturbs the bliss of the melody.
This book follows on from Escape Down Under, it was left on a cliff-hanger where Jess saw Max and Stella (someone sort this women out already!!) kissing. Jess being scared of letting anyone in again, does the only thing she knows and runs. Max thinks that leaving Jess alone is best for everyone. He is scared he will hurt Jess like he has everyone else around him. But Max soon comes to realise that life is nothing without Jess by his side. So he manages to talk to Jess and explain everything that has happened. But life gets in the way; Jess is scared to trust him or open her heart to him. Have they both fallen into something they can’t escape from? Can they make it through and finally learn how to be together? I LOVED this book! I loved Escape as well and I couldn’t wait to read this book. Max and Jess are amazing characters, I love that Jess doesn’t stand for his shit but she will allow Max to do what is needed for her. Jess has become very independent, I don’t think she quite realises that yet. But the fact that she has come out of a shit relationship, then lives on her own and then moves across the world for her job just shows how independent she can be. What to say about Max?? He’s HOT, dominating, controlling (in good ways) protective, caring and has a damaged past, which I can’t wait to find out more about. For me when we first meet him in Escape, I got attached to him and he just got all of my attention. I wanted to find out everything about him. He is one of those characters that pulls you into the story and keeps holding onto you until the end. He is on my list of BBF’s and is right there at the top ;) This story had some amazing unexpected twists to it, things that I just didn’t see coming, which I loved. I wish someone would sort Stella out. She is one evil B*tch. But I love the fact that Jess and Melissa stand up to her. I am so glad that Max is finally seeing sense when it comes to her. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Down Under Trilogy. Steph you have done a fantastic job with Max and Jess and I can’t wait to see where you take us next with them. 5 MUSCULER STARS!
I was given this ARC in return for a honest review . This is the second part to Escape Down Under where we first meet Max and Jess.
After reading Escape Down Under I have been in desperate need of getting my hands on more Max, and yes this was definitely worth the wait !
"Escape " left us with a cliff-hanger where Jess caught what looked to be Max and Stella kissing in his office . Max knows this as being a misunderstanding but how to tell Jess and make her understand ? Max thinks that the best thing all round is to leave Jess alone so he can't hurt her any more . But both Max and Jess know that there is an invisible force that can't keep them apart . But can Jess completely trust Max and hand her heart to him ? Only time will tell .
This story is full of page turning twists and turns and sucks you in from the start and doesn't let you go until the last page . There are some very strong secondary characters that you love and some characters that you want to hate with a passion !
Jess is a strong independent young woman who has been hurt in the past and is scared to completely trust anyone so deeply . But she thinks Max could be the ONE . Max, well Max is a driven young hot Alpha male who is demanding and controlling but somehow can not control Jess in the way he wants . He has a past that we haven't quite figured out yet but nightmares allow us to see parts of his past that obviously have an impact on his life in the here and now .
Let's just say you'll not be sorry that you decided to read this at all . The only thing you'll be sorry about is the fact that we have to wait for the next instalment ! Argh !!!!!
Steph has a fantastic talent for writing books that sucks you in from the first page and doesn't let you go until you've finished the last word on the last page ! When she puts pen to paper magic happens . WILD magic !
Well done Steph. Fallen Down Under is another triumph under your belt so bloody hurry up and write the next part ! We need more Max and Jess !!
Well I devoured Escape Down Under only to be left needing more.....enter Fallen Down Under
This book starts off were ESU left off, and you're not left in the dark for too long, but don't think that means things will be peachy straight off.
I loved how strong Jess is in this book and how Max has learned and accepted this trait of the woman he adores. They can't escape the attraction to each other it's too strong. As with life, it gets in the way! So expect some drama and twists to keep you on your toes.
You always have the bad apple in a book, they're needed in a story and Stella is a sour Apple, she's a character you want to give a virtual slap, there may be more than one that deserves that though!
Talking friends they all appear in the book, Jen is hilariously dramatic, George is Jess's comfy cushion friend, always welcoming. She also develops a strong relationship with Melissa, Max's sister, who has a story of her own unfolding.......
This is a great instalment in the Jess and Max story, and ends in a safer place to make the wait for book 3 easier.
Fallen Down Under picks up right where Escape Down Under left off... and it didn't disappoint.
After the first book, I wanted strangle Stella - well, that feeling only got worse. Without giving anything anyway, the woman is a nut! And she's out to stir up a whole lot of trouble for Jess and Max.
We get to find out a little more about both main characters in this book, which gave them an extra dimension and made them even more relatable. And the chemistry between them only gets hotter. I especially liked the vulnerabilities we see in Max.
The side characters are great (I really hope Liss and Heath get their own story)and create extra tensions and drama.
~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~
This is the second book in the series and it has only gotten better. A little more drama, and something that is going on, but Jess can't figure it out. She has heard from her friends back in London, and she just knows there is something wrong. Her relationship with Max, well, that is complicated. Im not going to go into anymore than that. Otherwise I will give everything away.
S.M has done it again. She has made me want more. This is a short and sweet review. If you read the first one, you need to read this one!!! She is amazing writer!!
wow after how part one finished I couldn't wait to read this and wasn't disappointed. This picks up right where part one ended, Jess is dealing with Max pushing her away while getting on with the project and worrying about them but gets a call from London someone has hacked the computer and files are missing so she has to go back. You really get to know the characters more even with their dramas you can't help wanting to shake the pair of them but hug them too and you are willing it all to go well for everyone concerned. This is again brilliantly done where you can actually escape into it.
After Escape Down Under, I have been impatiently waiting for Mr. Wild's return and boy, was he worth the wait. Fallen Down Under continues with Max and Jess' story. It has twists and turns that will keep you peeled to every page. We learn more about the delectable Max, pulling us in deeper, ready for the third book. I really love this author, she writes about characters that touch you...feeling the emotions they feel. I simply CANNOT wait for Mr. Wild. A deserving 5 star read from me.
Again the story is fantastic but the EDITING is HORRIBLE!!!! There are so many ridiculous errors in this series that make you re-read lines over again thinking you read things wrong. I would love to see the next one come out without these types of errors.
Fallen down under is book #2 in the Down Under series. I loved book one Escape Down Under here's a link to my review. I was lucky enough to be given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes.....
Mac, max, Max where has all that alpha gone????
Book one in this series is all raw passion and desire but this book is emotional and tactical.
I still adore Max but he does loose a few man points for just being a bit of a pussy!!!
Jess is snarky and bitchy and I kind of love her in this book. Her and Max definitely share a connection but I was pleased to see her holding her own and making him work hard at making up with her!!!
I'm so glad we get to see some Jen and George in this book they are the comic relief and they really made me chuckle!!!
Stella, Stella, Stella karma's a bitch baby I can't wait till you get yours!!!!
I have to say I missed the smoking hot sex in this book, don't get me wrong there were some sex scenes but nowhere near enough and I just didn't get as hot and bothered as I did with book one.
This book feels like your typical second book in a trilogy does. The first book lays the intros and intense sexy groundwork. The second book then builds the story and tension which Fallen Down Under does brilliantly but for me it just wasn't as wow in your face as book one was.
That being said I still devoured it in one sitting, if my hubby would have been daft enough to suggest I put it down he would have got a serious mouthful lol!!!
This book was a fab reminder of why I love Max Wilder and a tasty little morsel that will keep me desperately needing to know what happens next.
Roll on book #3 but Fallen Down Under gets 4 stars from me
Starting off where Escape Down Under left us dangling over the edge of a cliff, Fallen Down Under continues the story of the Jess and the delicious Max Wild. Jess tries to settle in to working in Australia and forms a great bond with Max's sister Liss, I liked the growth of this friendship as I really like the fun-loving Liss. We start to get a peek into Max's past too and I'm intrigued to find out more. The story ramps up as we here of troubles back at Stanton's in London and Jess heads back home.. whilst they are trying to resolve these issues Jess suffers more heartbreaks (no spoilers) and as Max mops up the tears from these events we see them realising the strength of their feelings for each other. It is a slow bubbling build up and I liked this as they didn't just throw themselves back into each other's arms. I did feel the storyline around Stanton's issues a little confusing..left me with questions about the information that was known, plot didn't quite sit right. I can't wait for the final instalment to find out if Stella gets her just desserts at last! copy provided for an honest review.
This second instalment picks up right where Escape Down Under left off. Poor Jess is left devastated by what she finds. Her instincts tell her to go home to England, but her pride makes her stay. Miserable, she tries to continue on with her job. There was more than one occasion were I could have quite happily punched some of the characters, Stella and Max for sure. There is the added drama for Jess of her mother appearing, their troubled relationship has always left Jess feeling less than adequate in everyone’s eyes. Cant his be put behind them? The chemistry between Jess and Max is still smoking hot, their demons can’t help but surface but can the couple cope with each other’s demons along with their own? I can’t wait to find out in the final instalment. Again there were spelling issues which were why I haven’t given it 5 stars.
Fallen Down Under picks up where Escape Down Under leaves off. Jess is really liking the project she is working on but of course when it comes to Max and her there are ups and downs.
Jess is forced to head back home to London to try to determine who had tampered with files back at her office, the purpose of the tampering and how can she fix the problem if at all possible.
I would recommend that you continue Jess's story to find out if Max and Jess can take their relationship to other than a working one or can he not do away with his commitment issues. You will also want to know who is behind the problems back at the Stanton office! Great read! Can't wait for the next release!
Now this book really surpassed my expectations. I loved Max in Escape Down Under. But in this book, I became obsessed with him. I can really feel the love they have for each other was so strong that despite the heartache Jess underwent, she was willing to fight for Max and win him back. Luckily Max also felt the same and their reunion was so grand. I laughed, cried and swooned my hearts out in this book. There were issues left hanging that I’m so excited to read the next book. Again there’s the promise of something better to happen and that Max and Jess will finally have their happily ever after in Forever Down Under. This is again so deserving my 5 star rating.
This book was given free by the author for an honest review. WOW! Max Wilde is back and sexier than ever!
Fallen Down Under carries on straight from book one where we left Max in a quite a compromising situation with his PA Stella.
You find out more about Jess and Max in this book. If you didn’t love Max in book one, you certainly will in this. S.M. Phillips has a way with words that just makes you love her books. The story flows very well and will keep you wanting more.
I really cannot wait to read book three and I hope the evil Witch Stella gets what is coming to her and I hope that Jess and Max finally get the HEA they both deserve.
This being the second in the trilogy, I had hopes it would be better than the first. Sadly, it wasn't.
I had the same issues with the typos and incorrect words (be instead of me)
I also had issues with the whole Stella storyline. I am also not a fan of women who flee whenever there is controversy.
The further I got into the book the more I wondered if these people ever worked. It was hard to figure out timelines because things jumped without warning. One paragraph it's morning and the next thing you know they are at dinner, and no explanation how they got there.
At this point, I'm just wanting the trilogy to be over.
Aaaaaahhhhh, I can't wait till the next book. Things just keep getting better and better! I'm completely in love with Max! Jess is getting stronger and a I've gotten a better understanding of where she's coming from and damn if I don't feel for her.
The editing is very poor, but the story is so good I'm over looking it.
3,5 stars This story picks up where book 1 ended. Honestly, I do find the story a little bit all over the place. Lots and lots of grammar and spelling mistakes that drove me crazy.
Jess Townsend and Max Wild's story continues... The story picks up where Escape Down Under left off with Jess having caught Stella kissing Max in his moment of weakness where he tries to deal with Mal being sick pushing away all those who he is close to.
Jess is heart broken and goes to stay with Melissa, Max's sister; she decides the best thing for her to do is to leave and return to London, but she isn't a quitter and decides to stay and get the job done before returning home.
Max comes to his senses following the stunt pulled by super bitch Stella, but maintains that he's not going to sack her, much to the disdain of all the woman he's close to. Max and Jess work things out and decide to see where things are going, but when things go wrong in the company back home Jess sets off to set things right not wanting to add any pressure to Mal while he's still recovering.
Jess returns to the UK and Max follows; it's drama from the time Jess lands, both personally and professionally, but together they will try and fix all the issues, especially Stella.
I liked this story, but got over all the issues very quickly it was one problem after another, and the office girl being pregnant with Jess' ex... well that was a little OTT... who cares? She's got Max! Why spend all day crying over it?
