Cat finds herself in a whole mess of trouble in A Magnificent Crime! Not only does a previous job come back to haunt her, but so does a man from the past. Cat finds herself torn between Hero Jack and Bad Boy Ethan. To make matter worse, she needs them both to do the Job of All Jobs! Her heart and her hands are on the line here. When it's all said and done, who will she choose? I stumbled upon the first book in this series last week. I LOVED it! Fortunately, I didn't have to wait very long to rea ...more

Cat Montgomery is a thief; she embraces her lifestyle and leaves guilt and judgement at the door. Lately, however, she's suffering from panic attacks. Not the best reaction in the thick of thieving.

To make matters which, she's facing her biggest challenge yet as she's being blackmailed to do a dangerous job. The penalty for refusing is an age-old punishment for stealing.

For even more complication, her boyfriend (Jack) is an FBI agent. They've agreed to look the other way about

I laughed. I shuddered. I kept turning the pages. The heroine is a jewel thief and her body friend is an FBI agent. Can you say 'complicated relationship?" Then there is a gangster that wants her to steal the impossible - The Hope Diamond. All of that is complicated by a fellow thief who happens to be a hottie, and then there is the agent from Interpol on her tail.....and.....

If you want a fun, intriguing, implausible made plausible, fun mystery/thriller read this book. I can't wait for the next

This is a fantastic addition to the Agency of Burglary & Theft series. Cat, a thief, finds herself in two complicated situations - stealing the Hope Diamond and sorting out her relationship with her boyfriend and her "friend" Ethan. To make matters worse, her boyfriend works for the FBI. Full of humor and action this is a caper in a laidback style.

I got about halfway through this book when my ability to suspend belief snapped. I didn't believe the story, and I didn't care enough about the characters to try and fantasize long enough to finish.

A Magnificent Crime

Cat Montgomery- beautiful, sexy, heart of gold and hands of a thief. Cat has a gift for stealing jewels- she’s always prided herself on being able to get out of sticky situations.

After her last job, though, and seeing what can happen when a heist goes wrong, Cat begins to suffer from panic attacks. An unfortunate turn of events, definitely. So Cat decides she needs to

Cat Montgomery is back but not in perfect form. After the Fabergé egg incident, she's come down with a sudden case of the shakes. Or more accurately, panic attacks. Like the one she had while scaling a building on a recent job. The timing was less than perfect and left her forced to find a quick escape. But that's the least of her problems as an old mark has now targeted her for revenge. When she stole Albert Faulkner's Caeser Diamond, she was just doing her job. Unfortunately for her, Faulkner ...more

A Magnificent Crime is the second novel in the AB&T series by Kim Foster and picks up some time after the events of the first novel. Cat Montgomery and Jack Barlow have re-started their relationship and are now living together. Being on opposite sides of the law can be difficult but they'd rather be together than apart. Ethan Jones is another country, needing to get his head on straight after everything that happened with Cat and the

ARC from Netgalley
Cat Montgomery is a professional jewel their for hire, she's "scaled buildings, leaped off moving trains, crawled through air vents countless times", it's a dangerous life but more dangerous now she's been approached by an ex mark. She works for an agency, AB&T The Agency of Burglary and Theft.
The story starts out well, it had me interested, she's scaling a multi story building to the penthouse and then has to use her imagination to escape. It was as the story advance that

I was fortunate to have won a copy of A Magnificent Crime through a Goodreads giveaway.

Cat Montgomery, a professional thief, is located by a former mark. In order to save her life and protect her loved ones, she is tasked with stealing the Hope Diamond from The Louvre. The Diamond comes with a history of being cursed, with many deaths resulting from the handling of said diamond.
To add to Cat's impossible assignment, she has been suffering from panic attacks which have made her almost immobile in

I received this book as a Good Reads giveaway. I REALLY wanted to like this book. It's description shared all the elements that I enjoy in thriller and adventure reading - action, confident female protagonists, and so on. Unfortunately it read too much like a Chris Kuzneski book - the characters were so full of themselves that I just didn't care any longer. I got about halfway through this book when my ability to continue reading ended. I didn't care enough about the storyline to finish. Perhaps ...more

Re-shelving back to TBR at 20% (roughly 10 chapters in)

I get the feeling that the first book is required reading to get into this. To be fair there's some effort on the author's part to recap the first book but I can't bring myself to care for the plight of these people thus far. The perceived main villain imposes little credibility in terms of his threats. And the hero is coming across as charming as a gutted fish. I still am intrigued by the premise of burglars for hire so will give this anoth

I wanted to love this book but it was so cliche. From the names of the characters to their actions and the way they talked it. The author decided to keep the story locked in the middle of not knowing if it wanted to be serious or over the stop. It will leave readers wondering why they read the story at all. It kind of like a modern day Crime Robin Hood but again it can't decide it if wants to be funny and over top top or serious again leaving readers feeling incomplete.

I really enjoyed this book far more than the first volume, although there still a bit to much repetition for my taste. Ms. Montgomery is back and still caught in the middle of romance, revenge and her chosen career as a thief. This book takes place in Paris and is chock full of the returning characters we met in Ms. Foster's first book, "A Magnificent Heist". The story is a bit more action packed and not all the loose ends are tied at the conclusion of the book...making the reader want for more. ...more

Wonderful read! A bit of romance with a lot of action and intrigue! I enjoyed reading about Cat Montgomery, a seasoned jewel thief, who is suffering from panic attacks. Not a good thing for a Cat burglar! Excellent story. I highly recommend.

Kim Foster writes YA and adult books about thieves, spies, and assassins. Her YA debut GAME OF SECRETS will be out in Fall 2017 and is a historical fantasy—a spy thriller set in an alternate Victorian world. Prior to becoming a writer, Kim went to medical school and practiced as a family doctor (don’t worry; it doesn’t make much sense to her friends and family, either).

Kim lives with her husband
