I love carols books always well written and this one didn't disappoint at all. You will be laughing one minute then crying the next as great characters and the story plot is so good. It's a warm read and a simple read so worth reading and worth more than five stars for sure. Shows how you can change your life in a short time and what rally it is that makes you happy. Shows how you can start over again and you just love the story from the first page.

Yay! I loved this book!

The storyline is extremely fun and there was not a dull moment! I couldn't put it down.

Lyssa has tried for 4 years to have a baby with her live-in boyfriend. Unfortunately he drops a bomb on her that forces her into thinking she needs time away from her busy life in London.

She decide to venture the Himalays for 1 month all by herself on a tour thru the mountains.

Something wonderful happens to her and you must read what it is!

Fun, easy read that will put a smile on your

It was okay, but I didn't like how the author portrayed abortion. Especially in light of the Stupak amendment that just passed, I'm sure it was just a sore spot for me. She portrayed the main character as being unable to have children because of an abortion she had as a young woman. Because of this she feels like it's her fault for having an abortion. I felt like this was misleading about the facts of abortions and needlessly heaped on guilt to the character. Then the bitch character has an ...more

Wow!! Not what I expected. I was kept guessing about the outcome until the end. I almost DNFd this one due to the way the author treated the Cheating ex. So glad I held on! Will give Carole Matthews another chance. There were things that made me uncomfortable, the blatant infidelity of the secondary characters really made me sad, but I think that was author's intent.

March really is the month for chick lit as this is my 6th chick lit book of the month! Really enjoyable read (I swear I say this about all books!) Makes me want to go to Nepal and trek all over the Himalayas. Okay maybe I'd never be brave enough to do that as I hate tents with a passion but I've just googled treks in Nepal and it looks nice......

I enjoyed this has some laugh out loud moments and tells an interesting tale that kept me wanting to read it from cover to cover in one session ! I’m not a good sleeper and I ended up looking forward to my nightime ‘under the cover’ reads about Alyssa and her eventful life and loves !

The book takes you from reading about a very dull female head who is only focused on one idea which is to have a baby and be a mother, all the way to this fun female who caries a very heavy rucksack and hiking the Himalayas. Lyssa finally found herself after being dumped by her boyfriend Jake after being together for 4 years.
I loved the since of humor all over the storyline also I like the very small thought that jumps in between lines, the kind of thoughts you have while you are reading the

After four failed IVF attempts, Jake tells Lyssa it’s over. She thinks it’s just a blip but what she doesn’t know is that he has been seduced by someone else. When Lyssa does find out, she is crushed. She decides to escape London for a while and ends up going on a trekking holiday in Nepal. But what she didn’t expect to find there was love. Love for the country, the people and maybe the hot American tour guide Dean. After her month there was up, Lyssa goes back to London and she soon faces a ...more

It was good and all, but I was more interested in what was going on with Edie and Jake than with Lyssa. So I ended up reading all the 'at home' parts first and then going back to read about Lyssa's adventure. Now that its over, I'm glad Lyssa and Dean are happy, but I'm really curious about how things go for Pip and Jake afterwards.

I enjoyed this even more than the first book I ready by Ms Matthews.

In fact, I haven't put it down all day - which is probably something I should be ashamed of, but I'm not.

The story take place in what sound like such a beautiful country - Nepal, and it raises the romance from the normal routine romance.

So normally I like to pretend my taste is very high brow and that I don't read chicklit. But this book I'm OK telling people I read it because it has more depth than a normal romantic romp. There's a commentary on society and not everything gets wrapped up in a neat bow. It's more "realistic" while still being enjoyable and allowed me to escape my troubles for a spell.

Solid chick-lit with a little more depth than usual and interesting characters. The ending came fairly quick and wasn't overly realistic, but overall an enjoyable read

We follow the story of assistant magazine editor Lyssa whose live-in partner Jake has just announced over breakfast that “it isn’t working”. And he doesn’t mean the toaster. Just like that. He’s been cheating with an alpha bitch from work, who it turns out is exactly who he deserves, leaving Lyssa to mourn their relationship, the wasted IVF attempts and her life. She is something of a paradox at first; she seems to be getting on with life by going to work but then mourns the relationship and ...more

Um okay I am not sure where to start writing about it. For other people this might be another YA novel but for me it was much more than that. The story started with a very complicated relationship. Lots of argument and all, I could totally relate to it. But the cheating aspect was shocking for me, and I dropped it. It was so ugly and messy, I literally hated it. But well, that was the requirement of the story. The story when starts growing, it is more optimistic and thats when I got hooked to it ...more

How far would you go for love? Are you willing to give up your current lifestyle for love?

This is what Lyssa has done. After being dumped by her boyfriend Jake, she is devastated and broken hearted. A daring and impromptu trip to Nepal has changed not only her love life but her lifestyle as well. Nepal has changed the ways she look at things and people. This book has also opened my eyes to the country of Nepal, the simple lifestyle, culture and people. Sometimes simplicity is what we need to be

The chick-littiest chick-lit you could ask for, but sometimes that's what you need. I did enjoy it, but in retrospect Lyssa is the kind of person I can't stand - obsession with having a baby I can understand, obsession with hairdryers, not so much. Her main objection to her boyfriend's desertion for another woman seems to be that the other woman has a bigger bottom than her. Having 3 men in love with her in the end was a bit much! I also objected to the bit about her previous abortion causing ...more

This was such a fun read, with some heavy undertones to ponder. I loved how the author dealt with different sides of serious issues and the way that she dealt with relationship issues as well. Not only for the main lady, but also on the guys perspective. I was also pleasantly surprised that I couldn't guess where it was going at first. I find a lot of these types of books super predictable but this wasn't. It definitely held my interest until the end and I loved being with Lyssa and reading the ...more

I thought it started well and liked the way it talked about IVF and how all consuming it can be for couples. But then it went downhill. I thought the addition of Neve was pointless, the confession of Pip was formulaic and I'm not sure why the author bothered with it and the Nepal sections were a bit rubbish.

If I had had other things to do/read then I don't think I would have finished it. But it was my last library book and I had done all my housework. I might try another one from the same

I really wanted to like this book but I find the author to be rather condescending.... Seriously... poor and homeless people are being called tramps? and the author make it seems like “adopting chinese babies” is a joke and a plan b. I find it rude.
