Nick and Angel's journey was amazing to watch. Their courage and faith is inspiring, the sassy banter is entertaining, and the love scenes are HOT!
Nick's family is a total hoot and I could just imagine myself sitting with them at the family barbeque. While the wise-cracks and love surrounded us.
A Saint's salvation gives you a look into the REAL life of our military personnel, from the perspective of a former Navy gunner's mate and mother of a Marine. You will see the real trials of faith and sen

I am so in love with this book. It is so my weakness when two halves of one soul find each other. And Nick so deserves his HEA. What kind of woman sends a dear john letter to a warrior currently in battle. Why not just target his heart with an IED. But as it turns out, out there on the battlefield, when life totally sucked, Nick and Angel connected briefly, but definitely. Something about a near death experience helps you to cut through all the bull excrement. Going home for the Holidays to heal ...more

A Love and Life Affirming Sensual Read!

I loved how A Saint’s Salvation is bursting with pride that we all have in our service men and women. It also highlights the many scars that they may bear, physically and emotionally, upon their return from active service, in what I feel is a realistic way and how important it is for them to reconnect with civilian life to aid the healing process.

At the start of the novella, the hero Nick has reached a low point, after receiving a ’Dear John’ letter from hi

**I was given a copy of this novella by the author for an honest review**

So I just finished reading this about 5 minutes ago. I'm a fast reader and this was a novella, so it probably seems like I have super reading powers-not true. This book gave me goosebumps on more than one occasion. There isn't much I can say without giving it away, so let me put it this way.

Marine meets medic. Marine needs medic to heal his bruised heart. Marine saves medic and now she just HAS to save his heart. I literall

First off, I wanted to share with you all part of the dedication of this book. I don’t always read the dedication to a book, but this one was heartbreakingly true and has a powerful message. It’s a great way to start a book, such as this one.

“Thank you to all the men and women that have written that blank check for their lives to serve our country. They hand it over never knowing if it will be cashed in. I can’t think of a braver or more wonderful thing to do. Please remember not all of the woun

Wow I really enjoyed this very quick but satisfying read. As a Marine Mom myself the story really settled in a personal way into my soul. I felt so many of these emotions while my son was deployed and reliving them was pretty tearful.

But once I lost myself into the love story I felt a connection to the characters that gr

Not wanting to be his rebound girl after Marine Corporal Nicholas “Saint” Santiago receives a Dear John letter, Petty Officer Angelina “Doc” Jones tries to ignore the attraction between them. A Saints Salvation is an amazing story that creates a journey that anyone Military and Civilian will enjoy.
Beverly conducts a mission that delves deep into heart ache, fear, doubt, and a follow up that opens a path into healing, growth and eventually love.
I really liked the exploration into a delicate topic that affects many soldiers and their families including the mental and emotional trials and the psychological issues that come with serving over seas and suffering the physical and ment

I was provided a copy of A Saint’s Salvation and I really wanted to like this story; I really, really did.  Ultimately, I think it was a culmination of the story being written in third person, and the unrealistic feel that kept me from engaging.

It starts off with both, Saint and Angel, getting hurt and Saint saving her life.  They are together for a brief time in the hospital, where Saint keeps Angels spirits up.  Saint is redeployed and Angel is shipped back home.  For some random reason, Saint

Love Conquers All.
This is a very beautiful story about love, and how love can heal the mind, spirit and body.
Corporal Nick Santiago 'Saint' is at the lowest ebb a person can be. He's been deployed in Afghanistan way too long and now his girlfriend, the one he's been so true to, has broken up with him. Things couldn't get any worse—except they do.
The group is attacked and Saint throws himself on top of medic Angelina Jones, aka 'Doc', and takes some of the fire away from her. He saves her life bu

Nick earned his Dear John letter on his second tour. shortly after, him and his unit are caught in an attack and he finally realises that it wasnt his ex who he really wanted, it was the Doc. when a grenade is launched, Nick launches himself over Doc, and he himself is also injured.
they spend time together, in hopsital, but when Nick leaves, he has no contact with Doc, and moves on, joining a dating site. When his christmas leave to home involves a layover in Chicago, he sets up a date, so he c

A Saint's Salvation by Beverly Ovalle is a wonderfully sweet and surprisingly spicy short read. This book has so much depth packed into so few pages. We get a look into the not so glamorous reality of the military and the effects of tragedy.

I loved Nick's family and how they all related to each other. His pain and hurt was palpable. But, he was so strong and worked so hard to feel like a man, again.

Angelina could relate so well with Nick on how it felt to have a

I received this from a blog tour, not heard of the author so was in for a pleasant surprise.

My Kindle time on this boom was saying 2 hours so not a very long book yet it seemed longer because of all the events inside it.

After receiving a Dear John letter and feeling really down about it he realises that its not because he's heart broken, but other emotions arise because of the break up.

He finds love in another quarter.

Just to say, this book is hot with the sex scenes and tastefully done I though

A Saint's Salvation is my first book by Beverly Ovalle. What a great surprise. Ms Ovalle has delivered a well-written book. Nick and Angel's story is loaded with drama, action, humor and spice. This wounded warrior book is a fantastic read and I look forward to reading more from Beverly Ovalle in the future. A Saint's Salvation is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I purchased a copy of this book at a book signing.

Lovely military romance

Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

A Saint’s Salvation is about two people both in the same military unit back in Afghanistan. Nick Santiago received a Dear John letter from his girlfriend stateside and he’s feeling empty and rejected. He’d remained loyal to that image of one day having a loving relationship but his dreams are all but squashed with that one letter.

Nick’s had a connection with “Doc” Jones but never acted on it because o

I was pulled in by the 'Dear John' letter that Nick received and was messing with his head as a grenade explodes and changes everything. He tries to save Doc Jones, but the result is not quite what she expected. Both need time to recover. And they discover that they have feelings for each other, but neither is sure if the other feels the same. Nick's nickname is Saint, so this is the story of his salvation.

I really liked how both of them got the chance to get to know each other and be there for

*Dsclaimer: I received a review copy via Reading Alley for a honest review.

To be honest I dislike giving books low ratings and negative reviews. I wish I can give every book I read 5 stars & positive glowing reviews, but that's not always the case. With that said, it breaks my heart to have to give this military romance two stars.

A Saint's Salvation was hard for me to get into...maybe because it was so short (est. 52 pages). There wasn't much plot to the story and overall, the story was rough ar

*Disclaimer* I received this book from Reading Alley in return for a fair and honest review.

This is a short but sweet novella about a marine serving in Afghanistan. It is written by someone who clearly understands both the emotions and the jargon used, enough so that you can feel the tug on your own emotions as you read it.

Nick has to deal with a lot of things whilst on duty, not least receiving his Dear John letter from his 'girlfriend' back home. This is one of the things that makes him stop

This is a short and sweet quick read about a couple of Marines. Nick the "Saint" as dubbed by his fellow squad mates has had his heart broken. He feels some feelings for his Doc in the squad but she rebuffs him. Doc or Angelina likes Nick but will not be his rebound guy. the two get caught in cross fire while partroling in Operation Enduring Freed

So I learned something new about myself while reading A Saint’s Salvation ... I am not a fan of books in which the author tells me what is occurring, rather than showing me what is going on. By this I mean that rather than being inside Nick’s head and being “shown” his thoughts and feelings (e.g., Nick cleared his throat loudly, frustrated by her lack of her response), the author tells me what he is feeling (e.g., Nick felt as if he was unraveling). While narrative story telling is a perfectly a ...more

Wow! I'm not even sure what to write - this story is beautiful and amazing! I simply loved it! Nick and Doc are so meant to be and are just incredible together. Nick rescues Doc but Doc is leery of starting a relationship. After time, they find each other but can they save each other? I loved how Nick and Doc went back and forth and the banter was great. Seeing the interactions with the other characters was great also - It was so moving to read about Nick's flight - that was so touching. Ms. Ova ...more

Sacrifice and Healing! A Heartwarming MUST READ!

"A Saint's Salvation" is the first book of Beverly Ovalle's that I have read. I found it on Ebooks Discovery and am SO GLAD that I did. She is a wonderful author and I can't wait to read about more of the Santiago's.
