About the author

T.M. (Tracey Marie) Frazier never dreamed that a single person would ever read a word she wrote when she published her first book. Now, she is a eight-time USA Today bestselling author and her books have been translated into numerous languages and published all around the world.

T.M. enjoys writing what she calls ‘wrong side of the tracks romance’ with morally corrupt anti-heroes and ballsy heroines.

Her books have been described as raw, dark and gritty. Basically, what that means, is while some authors are great at describing a flower as it blooms, T.M. is better at describing it in the final stages of decay.

She loves meeting her readers, but if you see her at an event please don’t pinch her because she's not ready to wake up from this amazing dream.

What. An. AWESOME. Ride!!!

Holy wow, I totally LOVED this book!! Dark and gritty, sweet and sexy, raw and shocking, and utterly addictive, with an unapologetic, badass Alpha male hero and unexpected twists that I never saw coming!! I couldn’t put it down from the moment I started it reading and I can’t wait for the next one!

TM Frazier writes some of the best dark romance out there. Her writing is strong and compelling. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and doesn’t hold back. Her characters hover in that mysterious and intriguing grey zone between good and bad and keep you constantly second guessing how you should feel about them. They’re incredibly complex and honestly, that’s what makes them so fascinating. And while her stories are raw and gritty, they always have a side of sweet and are woven with just enough depth and emotion to tug all your heart strings and really make you care. She’s definitely an auto-buy author for me!

Homeless. Hungry. Desperate.

Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.

A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, sex or a combination of all three.

King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.

"They call me King."

King. Brantley King. Career criminal. Tattoo artist. Badass alpha. Fresh out of prison. -- “This guy didn’t look like he hung with the wrong crowd. This guy was the wrong crowd.” -- He grew up in merciless world, living on the edge. And a product of a brutal life, he was dark, dangerous, and totally untamed.

“So he’s not going to kill me?” I asked hopefully.
Didn’t say that… He’s not the most predictable guy, and he’s been away for a few years…”
“Years?… Where was he?”
Prison made much more sense than college.

Doe was the complete opposite. Her past was a mystery to her -- after waking up in a garbage dump in a heap of her own blood with no memory of who she was or where she came from, the only thing she had left was a reflection in the mirror that even she didn't recognize. She wasn't cut for his world. Tiny, frail, but surprisingly bold and fiesty. Everything about him screamed danger to her, but even though he scared the hell out of her, I loved the way she still didn't take any of his shit...

He expected me to cower.

He expected wrong.

“I don’t give a fuck who you are, asshole.” I seethed. “And you’re not as smart as you seem to think you are. Tell me something, who exactly was it who appointed you judge of all people?”

I thought my words would start an all out war but instead King didn’t look angrier, he only looked mildly amused. “Well you are partially right. Because when it comes to me and mine, I am the judge. I am the jury. And if need be, I am the motherfucking executioner.”

They got off to a rocky start. A girl like her had no place in his world and he wasn't about to start changing things. He had a single minded goal since getting out of prison (its a secret, you'll find out when you read) and would do anything he had to to get it. She was a detour he never expected. She brought out a whole other side of him. He wanted to own her, possess her, but slowly but surely, she began to steal his heart.

“King was smart, calculating, and cunning. Worst of all, he had the power to make my knees both tremble in fear and weak with desire. He was someone I had to stay away from, but according to him, that wasn’t about to happen."

I don't want to tell you too much more about the story because it's such a twisty journey (with shocking reveals that I never saw coming) that you should really just experience it for yourselves. Heads up though, there might be a trigger warning for some readers but the good guys do come in and save the day. This author really doesn't hold back and many of the events are dark and gritty. I keep coming back to those two words because they really are the best descriptors for the feeling of this story. But she writes that style like no one else. Her writing is just so strong and compelling that the pages flew by for me.

“He’d told me that I was his before, that I belonged to him. But before that night, I hadn’t believed him.

It was what his body told me that took me by surprise and shook me to my very core.

He was mine."

Between the sexy hotness, the shocking reveals and plot twists, and surprisingly hilarious one-liners, this was an unputdownable book with strong underlying messages about the strength of friendship, the bonds of loyalty, love, and family, and also a reminder not to judge people on their outward appearances.

The ending had my heart in my throat -- huge reveals, huge twists (yes, plural!) -- and now I'm absolutely desperate to read the next book to see how it all ends. Admittedly, it's very rare for me to read a book with a cliffhanger so I pick and choose the ones I read very carefully. This was definitely one worth reading to me and I'm so glad I'm so glad that I gave it a shot, I loved the whole story start to finish, and I can't wait for the sequel to see where the whole story goes! Especially with that last twist. Oh my!!

This is the first book in a 2-book series. The sequel Tyrant will be out in August. I'm personally glad I read this now though and didn't wait!

Fans of dark, gritty stories, with badass Alpha male heroes are sure to fall in love with King!!

Rating: 4.5 stars. Contemporary Adult dark romance.

“Love is what you would do for the other person, not what you do in general.”

When I read T.M. Frazier’s first book, The Dark Light of Day, in 2013 and I was hooked. I love this author’s writing style, the way she can write so much beauty among all the ugly content she writes and the feelings her books evoke. I feel like I have been waiting for the longest time for her second full length novel, King- but let me tell you guys something… KING was worth the wait!

Our story starts with a young Doe. A girl with no memories. She doesn’t have anywhere to go, doesn’t know who she is and is alone in the world.
I don’t know where I came from.
I don’t know how hold I am
I don’t know my real name.

Some way or another, she finds King.
 photo 2afc7378-ce7c-49ec-b172-3b43ca99693e_zpsymlj529y.jpg

Brantley King is a tattoo artist fresh out of prison. He is a criminal and has been for a long time. He and his partner, Preppy, have a business. They started from the very bottom when they were young but they were determined to make it. Now they’re on the top. They do what they want when they want to do it, no questions asked. When King first sees Doe, he doesn’t know what to think. He feels something for this girl. She makes him feel something different.
“Why did you come back for me?”

“Because you’re mine.”

 photo 47f68539-755b-4519-937c-59d81774c174_zpsf5g3jusi.jpg

There is so much I want to say about this story- SO MUCH! But at the risk of spoiling something (trust me, this is one you don’t want spoiled) I’ll just talk about the characters and all the things I loved.

First there was Doe. This girl was lost. She was frightened. But she was so strong. She was willing to do what it took to survive at all costs. And I love that as scary as King could be, she stood up to him. She didn’t cower and take his crap. King is a tough nut to crack. There are so many sides to this man. You see him as a ‘bad guy’ at first, but he is definitely not all bad. Doe brings out an eternity different guy. I love the connection they share and their chemistry is off the charts! Also, the more you hear about King’s past and what’s really going on in his life, the more you’ll feel for this powerful yet broken man.

 photo f03148b6-666f-4e1c-8a8b-95587b05a58c_zpsdqfqemlg.jpg

As much as I loved the main characters, there are two secondary characters that were also fantastic. Preppy and Bear. Preppy is one of those guys that will make you laugh out loud in every part he’s in. He has the foulest mouth and you never know what he’s going to say. He’s a true friend to King and Doe in every sense of the word. Then there is Bear who is a biker and also a friend of King and Preppy’s. I think a Bear book would be pretty great. I’d love to know more about him.

Now lets get to what you all really want to hear about… that ending! Wow. That last 15% not only gutted me, but shocked me. I love getting those twists thrown into books that I didn’t see coming. And I for real did not see that coming! That cliffhanger makes me desperate for the next book. August can’t come soon enough!

If you are a fan of dark romances, read this book. If you want to be captivated by fantastic writing, read this book. If you like the raw and gritty, read this book. If you love twists and turns in your stories, read this book. I guess when it comes down to it, I would tell all my fellow readers to read this book! I loved it from start to finish and it’s one I highly recommend.

Hello All! I am so sorry that the delay has upset anyone. This project was my number one priority but when I found out I was pregnant I also had a 9 month case of writers block which didn't allow me to finish it when I wanted to although I had every intention of doing so. Add to that the change in publishing direction, issues with editing, changing it into a 2 book series, and having my baby, and here we are a year later and still no King. It WILL be out before summer, I'm shooting for April. In the meantime check out my Facebook page because I will have a surprise for those fans of The Dark Light of Day coming up that you won't want to miss! <3

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book but sadly this story needed a lot of further work. So many portions of this story seemed rushed, overlooked, underdeveloped and thrown in for shock and awe purposes.

The hero was a big letdown for me but I really did like the heroine, Bear and Preppy of course! I struggled with King in so many scenes. One scene infuriated me because his reaction to Doe from the beginning was total caveman.

”You’re not my prisoner. You’re mine.”

He then proceeds to spend a fabulous dreamy day with the heroine and pulls a....

King is quickly falling for Doe the girl who has no memory of her life since a forgotten accident. The odd pair grows closer to one another and Doe feels like she belongs and is truly happy. All the while King knows her true identity and contemplates his play for that one thing he wants most in the world.

Overall, this story missed the mark for me with most scenes happening so quickly and not explored or elaborated on further. Shocking scenes thrown in for the purpose of shock The ending is a somewhat interesting cliffhanger. I'm hoping the next book is better executed!

I've found myself again in the haunted eyes of a girl who was just as lost as I was.
Or maybe, we didn't find each other at all.
Maybe, we just decided to be lost together.

I've been a huge fan on this author ever since I read The Dark Light of Day. So when I saw that she was coming out with this book and I read that synopsis? Suffice it to say I was willing to part with an ovary to finally get my hands on this beauty. Waiting the extra time since the original release date has been absolute torture, but then T.M. announced it won't be a standalone. Suffice it to say I was ready to stab someone in an ovary at that point. I don't do well with numerous books for same characters. I get bored, find the story stretched out, get tired of the same characters, and to be quite honest most often than not I find the story could have easily been resolved in one book. But I shouldn't have doubted this author because she not only brought it with this book, she brought it. It is definitely not a story that was meant for a standalone and I can understand completely why it's split into two parts. As a matter of fact, it made the story that much better. Yeah. I just said that. I'll give you a moment to get over your shock. Moving on...
This guy didn't look like he hung with the wrong crowd. This guy was the wrong crowd.

King is the very epitome of a bad boy. A criminal that goes after what he wants with a lethal determination, he's not someone you want on your bad side. Growing up with an alcoholic mother hasn't given him much, he was forced to take it. Alongside with his best friend, Preppy, they've built an impressive reputation. Now recently out of a stint in maximum security prison, King wants to drown himself in pussy and alcohol when she stumbles right into his path.
I don't know where I came from.
I don't know how old I am.
I don't know my real name.
All I had in the world was reflected back at me in the bathroom mirror of that gas station, and I had no fucking clue who she was.

Doe woke up in a hospital with absolutely no recollection of how she got there or who she is. She doesn't even know her name, simply goes by Doe as in Jane Doe. Forced to fend for herself on the streets, starving and desperate she's willing to do anything for a hot meal and a roof to sleep under...even give her body to a biker in exchange for protection. But when the biker she sets her eyes on sends her to his friend instead, she stumbles right into King's path. She may look like she's been through hell, but something about her ignites King and he knows that he needs to have her.

What takes place then is sexual tension of unbearable proportions. The push and pull between them is a burn that hurt so good. While the chemistry between them is instant, it's not something they either of them gives into right away.
Pup, do you want to know how it is that I know you weren't dreaming about me when you were not he verge of coming in your sleep?"
"Yes," I whispered.
"Cause, baby, if it were me you were dreaming about, you'd been screaming a fuck of a lot louder than that," King growled.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure about the first half of this book. Besides King's criminal activity, there really wasn't much grit or darkness to it. There was quite a bit of character and story development though. While Doe has no idea who she is and where she came from, King does. But he's not about to let her know because selfishly he wants her for himself even though he gets to be an unbearable asshole about it.
Why don't you just gut me and get it over with? Do whatever it is you want to do to me. Hit me. Fuck me. Fucking KILL me. Just. Stop. HURTING. Me."

I loved that even though Doe was homeless and thrown into a world she knew nothing about, she still had a backbone. Girl had some sass to her and she definitely gave as good as she got and slowly you get to see the big bad King fall more and more...
Against my better judgement, I'd brought her back to my house. I fed her. I bathed her. I put her to bed, and she didn't fight me off when I climbed in beside her and held her close while she cried herself to sleep. She was here against her will and I was one fucked up motherfucker.
Because I'd never been happier.

Luckily he never loses his edge either. While his feelings for Doe turn into something that's beyond simple lust, he's still a criminal and he's certainly not looking to change his ways. And the man was pure sex on a stick.

I think what I loved the most is that way that T.M. Frazier managed to give him this element of vulnerability without taking away from his edge. He may not be perfect, but every now and then you get the glimpse inside the heart of a man that's been through hell.
I've been in a maximum security prison. I've been around the worst of the worst. I've had to sleep with one eye open, thinking my next breath could be my last."
"Why are you telling me all this?"
"Because I want you to know that none of those motherfuckers ever scared me as much as you do."

The author gives you a brilliant story that lulls you into a false sense of security because right around the 85% she will rip the rug out from right under your feet. Mother fucker of feels but the woman is a pure sadist because when she goes for the feels she does it like a damn pitbull. She will grip you by the heart and rip that fucker right out of your chest...then stomp on it for good measure...laughing while she does it.

Nothing and I mean NOTHING will prepare you for what happens. It's filled with so many twists and turns that your head will spin and your heart will bleed. And then she hits you with that cliffhanger.

So at this point in time I'm pretty much willing to part with an ovary AND a kidney just to get my hands on the second book noooooooow.

This is part 1 of a 2 book series and I'm thrilled that the third book will be Bear because who doesn't love a hot ass biker? King was very much worth the wait and I can definitely tell you that T.M. definitely hasn't lost her touch. Read it and see exactly what I'm talking about.

"Stop being alive, and start living.”

Holy Fucking Hell ...seriously I have no clue how I am going to explain myself when I can't even begin to tell you (without spoiling of course) what this book did to me or how it made me feel! Because I have to tell you, I felt every damn thing. I'm going to keep this short, because honestly the only thing you need to know going in, is KING is the ultimate bad guy with the biggest heart for those he loves.

Imagine waking up hurt, with no memories, no name and the sad, sad truth of no one looking for you. That is the reality of Doe, as in Jane Doe, she was thrown into the world with no where to go, no food and no protection. She is taken in by a crack addict hooker, who shares with her the secret of surviving the streets... attach yourself to a biker for a warm bed, food and protection, all you have to is keep him happy by any means necessary. But what sounds like a good plan in theory, doesn't seem so so easy to do once faced with the reality, especially when said biker practically gives you away as a welcome home gift for King, the bad ass career criminal who just got out of prison.
"I am the judge. I am the jury. And if need be, I am the motherfucking executioner.”

Doe is King's salvation and personal hell, she doesn't know it yet but she holds so much power over King more than anyone else in the world...

Fate may have brought them together, but it will be Karma that will make them pay...all King knows is that no one crosses him, especially without paying him back in sweat, pu$$y or blood.

KING is one intense, non-stop roller coaster ride of emotions. This story is told from both King's and Doe's point of view, which I absolutely loved because I lived each moment with them. How could I not feel for Doe, confused and desperate, there is no telling what anyone is capable of, luckily she is made from much stronger cloth than most and cared for the "Her" she was while doing the best for the "Her" she is. King lived up to every expectation I had conjured up for him, big and bad, totally naughty and a big 'ol softy when it matters most. I do have to bring one more character into the mix, Preppy, god love him and his foul mouth, crazy ass smile and adorable bad ass bow ties.

This book strung me along effortlessly with the flow and ease of how their story is told. It all clicked into place, one event after another, the new one more intense than the past! I have to admit, going in knowing this was not a stand alone, I braced long before when it was needed, but you can't blame me for wanting to protect my emotions, and while I was smart to brace because right till the very end, my heart dropped, then it soared, giving me new hope. It is with that new found hope that I will be able to survive until their story continues on, because now the possibilities are endless and the reward will be so much sweeter especially when King kick's some ass along the way.

Amazing job and recommended read for sure!

King filled me so completely. Not just my body. My heart. My soul. My life. I didn't give a shit if I ever got my memory back. Because with King, I knew exactly who I was.

 photo 06b6cfb7698a8a8d8ca4bddc9ac63b26_zps9kvlife6.jpg

Brantley King is an ex con just released from prison after serving a three year sentence. He has led a shitty life since childhood. When he was twelve, he saved a kid who was being beaten in the playground by the school bully and the two form a fast friendship that will end up turning them into the only family they've ever known. "Preppy" comes up with a plan to sell pot so that the two can make money and eventually buy their own home. He's definitely an odd character that marches to the beat of his own drum but you'll see that it's quite impossible not to fall in love with the guy.

On King's first night home from prison, Preppy and his other friend, Bear, throw him a welcome home party. Doe, a pretty young girl, ends up going to this party with her friend who is a crack whore. Doe has amnesia and doesn't remember her identity nor her past. She ends up on the streets and befriends this hooker. She's at this party because her friend tells her she can hook up with a biker from the local MC, who will more than likely take her in and give her food and shelter. What she gets instead is held captive as King's property due to a huge misunderstanding. This may sound horrible, but actually I wouldn't mind being in Doe's shoes because King is all kinds of alpha hotness!!

He's completely turned on by Doe and intrigued as well. Doe feels a pull towards King, but is fighting it because she doesn't want to do anything that will cause any turmoil to her life if she ever does regain her memory.

This is not a "Hearts & Flowers" romance, and King is not the knight in shining armor, coming to rescue the damsel in distress. He's done bad things. He's also never felt anything for a woman until he meets Doe. I knew going in that this would be a dark and gritty read! I've read "The Dark Light of Day", and absolutely LOVED that book!! Believe me when I say that this book is no where near as dark as her previous one. T.M Frazier writes so well that she evokes all kinds of emotions from you. I was reading this on the train to NYC and could hardly sit still in my seat. I was cringing and pulling my hair!!!

There are some really painful scenes in this one and definitely a devastating event. I believe that is why some people rated it so low. But I know this author's style and she will never go the predictable route. She likes to turn shit upside down and throw things at you that you never saw coming. And that's why I love this author and couldn't see rating this anything less than FIVE STARS!!!!!

It ends on an incredible cliffy, but the next book comes out in August. So that's not too long of a wait!!

What a story! I stayed up all night long reading this, because I just couldn't put it down. Seriously, I read the last few chapters with only one eye open! lol When I got to the end, I was speechless. Well, almost speechless....I did utter the words "holy shit." I had so many conflicting emotions. I literally couldn't isolate any of them enough to know exactly how I felt. After some much needed sleep, I have to say I barely have a grip now. Forgive me if my review is a little all over the place.

I'm not going to write a summary for this, because at this point I think everybody and their grandma knows what this is about. I feel like I'm the last person on the planet to read this series. Seeing everyone's excitement for the new book that just came out about Preppy gave me the push I needed to finally pick this one up.

King is the first book I have ever read by T.M. Frazier. I see many more in my future, because this book was amazing! It was not perfect by any means, but it made me FEEL! I felt so many emotions while reading this that I could barely keep up with them all. It made laugh and even made me cry. I don't cry often while reading, so that's really saying something. T. M. Frazier, you ripped my heart out!! Why??!! Did that really have to happen??!!

From the very first chapter, I suspected that I was going to love this book. King and Preppy's first meeting is one I'm sure I'll always remember. Getting just those few flashbacks from their childhood brought more depth to both their character and their relationship. I adored the friendship and brotherhood between these two, not to mention, the dynamic between King, Preppy, and Doe. The three of them together always left me with a smile on my face.

Doe and King are an odd couple brought about by awful circumstances, but I was rooting for them almost the whole time (minus the couple of times I wanted to murder King for being a big, fat, jerkface.) :) The sexual tension between these two is palpable from the first time they lay eyes on each other. When they finally get together, it is hot! When they weren't confusing the hell out of each other or pushing each other away, they brought out the best in each other. Doe brought out the softer, kinder, more caring side of King, and he brought out the bolder, braver, more daring side of her.

The characters in this story were complex, flawed, and messed up individuals. King, Preppy, and Bear are criminals and have been since they were kids. That's not all there is to them though, and that's what makes them endearing to the reader. They may be bad men, but they don't always do bad things. They are capable of love, friendship, selflessness, and loyalty. For most of the story, Doe doesn't know who she is, and we have no back story for her. She appears sweet and innocent, but by the end of the book we see that she is probably a little different than what we thought.

The character that drove me crazy throughout the whole story was King. I loved him, I hated him, I was confused, I wanted to stab him, I hated him, I love him again, and then I wanted to hug him while I beat him in the face! He would do awful things, but then he would do something like go and take care of a dying old woman. His changing moods and contradictory actions gave me whiplash. This man was something else! In the end, despite all his imperfections, I couldn't help but want the best for him.

I can't conclude this review without talking a little more about my favorite character, Preppy. I loved Preppy from his first bloody smile. A walking contradiction, with his bow ties and tattoos, he lit up the page everytime he appeared. He was dealt a shitty hand in life, but he didn't let that keep him down. Preppy always made the best out of everything. Amazingly odd, fun, light hearted, messed up and perverted, foul mouthed and endearing; he was an incredible character to read about.

That cliffhanger was BRUTAL! Thank God, I already have the next 3 books waiting for me on my kindle. If I didn't, I would have been really angry. lol If there is anyone else out there left in the world that hasn't read this book, what are you waiting for?? Do it, right now!! :D

I loved this book so very much and it was well worth the extended wait! I have been anxiously awaiting this book from the moment I saw it listed on Goodreads. T.M. Frazier is one of my favorite authors, and I was so happy when I saw that she was writing a new book. I love her writing and the fact that she always comes up with such brilliant and phenomenal stories! The story of King and Doe is different, unique, captivating, heartbreaking, funny and passionate.

In this book everything and everybody is so messed up. King is released from prison and Doe is a girl without any memories. One day she woke up in a hospital and the police told her that nobody was looking for her. She now lives on the streets until the moment these two will meet at King's welcome home party. King takes her under his protection. There are feelings between the two that they find confusing. King has never had a relationship before and isn’t sure he wants to pursue one with Doe. Their feelings grow stronger and soon these two will be on fire!!

I loved all the characters even the secondary characters were very interesting!! I want to know more about Bear and Preppy has my heart!! Let's talk now about Doe and King...they were an amazing couple! I can't express how much I loved them! King was a completely captivating character. He is misunderstood and everybody’s afraid him and think he is dangerous. Apart from being intimidating, he was also possessive, protective, strong, wild and super hot!!I loved the changes we see in Doe gradually throughout this story. She is very sweet and she becomes such a very strong woman. The chemistry between them is totally off the charts and chock-full of sexual tension!

This book left me wanting more and the ending was shocking!!I can't wait for you guys to finally meet King and Doe!!Be prepared for a wild ride that will keep you captivated from the beginning till the very end!!

“Brantley King" was 12 years old when he met his best friend “Samuel Clearwater” aka “Preppy” who was only 11 yrs old himself. They both wanted out of their miserable family they were given. King’s mom was a drug junkie and he basically had to care for himself until he decided to run away from it. Preppy’s step father was an absolute ass hole who abused Preppy so bad I wanted to kill him myself. Now the boys are grown man who grew up making their own rules and living by their own laws doing illegal things to survive. King was 27 yrs old and Pretty 26 now. They both killed if it was necessary and started selling drugs and other illegal things at young age in order to make money and make their “dreams” come true. At a young age they thought they were on top of the world, parting a lot and enjoying what life they were making together. King was great with art and he started doing tattoos from his house practicing on himself, Preppy and Bear (a friend they met at young age at school).

"Well you are partially right. Because when it comes to me and mine, I am the judge. I am the jury. And if need be, I am the motherfucking executioner." King

“Doe” aka “PUP” or “Ray”, a seventeen year old girl lost with no memory, living in group homes or on the streets; founds Nikki, someone who she thought could helped her. After having an accident and losing her memory, Doe now had no one and took shelter with Nikki. However her new friend was a junkie and didn’t care about anything else other than her next fix. Doe had no recollection of her previews life, and there was no missing person report matching her description; that left her lonely with nothing and no one. Nikki takes her to a party and the goal was for Doe to attempt to sell herself for protection and shelter to one of the MC bikers. What she didn’t know was that this wasn’t just any party it was a “Welcome Party” for King. He had just being release from prison after being incarcerated for three years. She hadn’t eaten for days so she was bound to do whatever it takes to survive even if that meant selling her body.

"Desperate people. Desperate things." Doe

“Bear” a hot biker who is best friends with King and Preppy; and the Vice president for his father’s MC club the “Beach Bastards”. He meets Doe first at the party and wants her for himself but he wanted to give his best friend a welcome back gift and sends her over to KING. This changed the story entirely, Doe and King didn’t realized that there was going to be a magnetic chemistry between the two that will pull them together and change their lives forever.

King takes Doe in after finding out who she was and he wanted to keep her for his own benefit. However he decides to keep the secret to himself. Preppy saw the connection between these two and wanted to push King’s buttons so he would step up and claim Doe and hopefully be happy. He was amazing and funny, I loved him so much. Preppy becomes good friends with Doe in the little time she came to live with them. He would make her pancakes every day and made her eat, she loved him for it. He wanted to take her out on a date as a friend but I think, he wanted to see King’s reaction and pushed him so it worked. King ended up taking her on his very first date; he never did dates so this was his first. And oh boy it was everything a first date should be; he was amazing he took her to the carnival “Neon lights, carnival music, corn dog and cotton candy stands” just perfect. They had this amazing HOT kiss on the Ferris Wheel it was super cute for KING really. He gave her the first tattoo she’s ever had and it was just perfect and beautiful.

“As King branded my skin, I embraced the girl whose life was just beginning. I embraced life. My life. King filled me so completely. Not just my body. My heart. My soul. My life. I didn’t give a shit if I ever got my memory back. Because with King, I knew exactly who I was. I was his.” Doe

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

He wanted to stop the feelings he was getting for her so he pushed her away purposely trying to make out with someone else when they got back from their date. I was a so upset omg…I was beyond angry at him. However, the angry sex helped me calmed down a bit and it up for it lol. He ended up claiming her and she opened up to him and they both gave into each other.

“We get this one life. One. As of right this fucking second, I’m no longer going to spend it doing anything other than what I want to do. I don’t want to grow old and look back and realize that I may have had a life, but I forgot to live it.” King

The events after they finally became a couple shred me to pieces. He confessed his dark secrets to her but still keep the secret of who she really was to himself but I melted for him at that point. Something horrible and unexpected also happens right at 86% of the book that I can’t even bring myself to write because I don’t want to give any spoilers. I was so broken and a complete mess from then up until the end. The ending was completely unexpected and now I have more questions than ever. I wish book two was already out because this waiting is going to kill me. However, I did read the epilogue for book two I had to, like there was no way this book could possibly end like this so it gave me a little hope and now to count down the days for book two. This was my very first book by this author and I can assure you it will not be my last. I am looking forward to more of her writing.

“There was no doubt in my mind if something like soulmates did exist that Doe was mine…I think a part of me loved Doe from the first moment my eyes landed on hers. Haunted, beautiful, scared. I wanted her, body and soul.” King

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“King was a bad guy, but he was my bad guy. He was more than that. He was my world. My heart. These people may have known who I was before, but I knew who I was now, and the two versions of me were going to have to figure out how to merge before I uprooted what I had with King in search of something unknown.” Doe

I was hoping after taking sometime to cool down, and reflect on the story, I would feel differently. I tried. Honest. I really did.

But, I failed. I'm still upset :/ So I guess I'll be in the minority, because I just did not love this book. Maybe my expectations were too high. Idk.

Regardless, this was a fast paced read, with some interesting characters, in fact a few of those characters outshined our MCs.

I struggled with King, honestly, he was a walking contradiction, he gave me whiplash and a headache. I enjoyed Doe, while she was a bit too forgiving at times. The storyline had potential, but occasionally felt choppy and OTT. Most of the drama seemed random and pointless. In the end I just felt disappointed. But maybe I'm bitter.

KING is about Murder, Loss, Redemption, and LOVE

EKkkkkkk I have waited and waited, stalked and stalked the author for this book, then when I saw it sitting in my trusty kindle I did the meanest Mr bean Dance ever invented!!

Desperate people do desperate things

Whoa this book had my mind in a tale spin, I raged, I laughed, I raged some more, KING in the beginning came across like a hardened alpha male kidnapper asshole, then slowly you see another softer side appear, even though I've finished this I still don't really know what made KING tick..I crazy loved this book, everything KING was done in one gear - fast..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The book starts off with KING just being released from his stint in prison, a welcome home party is under way, he's just finished tattooing a female, flips her over and is balls deep, when he's interrupted by a young female observing from the doorway which gives KING the much needed release, DOE is at the party with her street friend Nikki in the hopes of someone taking her under his wing and he gives her somewhere safe to lay her head and food in her undernourished body..Things take a turn for the worse when Nikki steals 6 grand from KING..He's out for vengeance..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

DOE ~If you took the scary out of the equation, King was drop dead gorgeous. His eyes were so dark green they almost looked black. His lips were full and slightly pink. He was the most terrifyingly beautiful thing I'd ever laid eyes on.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

My Life. King filled me so completely. No just my body. My heart. My soul. My life. I didn't give a shit if I ever got my memory back. Because with King, I knew exactly who I was. I was his.

We got a glimpse of KING in "Dark Needs" and what his speciality was this book hopefully will delve deeper into what makes KING tick, what made him into the man he is today..

"You may be pretty, pup, and those eyes of yours get my cock hard, but you're all skin and bones. Besides, I don't fuck junkies."

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In all the time I'd been living on the streets, I've had some close calls, some serious gut check moments. I've seen things that have made my skin crawl and my heart race. I was very familiar with feeling afraid.  Fear had nothing on King.

KING ~ GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH That's all it took to find out who Doe really was, I wished I'd never done the search. I wished I'd never known who she really was.

5 STARS! ★★★★★

"If you fuck with me and what's mine, then yes, I am the judge. I am the jury. And sometimes when the situation calls for it, I am the motherfucking executioner."

Mark your calenders everyone. June 15 is the day to live by because embrace yourselves for the awesomeness that is King. Pick up this book, read it, devour it and when you're done freaking out over that ending, let's all give each other mental support to make it through the next. Okay? Okay moving on.

Brantley King is a man who lives outside the law. Just coming out from his 3-years stint in prison, his best friend and partner in crime, Preppy throws him a homecoming party. However King is anything but in the celebratory mood, struggling to adjust after being thrown back into the outside world. He does however finds solace in inking tattoos. On the same night of his party where he caught the gaze of a pair of blue eyes observing him in a middle of one of his inking sessions, something powerful stirs within the darkness in him.

Doe is a nobody, a girl who can't remember her name or her past memories. She's been living off the streets until she got picked up by a hooker named Nikki and took her in. They both ended up in the same homecoming party when Nikki convinced her that the only way to survive is to sell herself. A desperate act somehow led her into the confines of King and before she even realised what she had gotten herself into, she was about to become King's property.

It shames me to say that I've not read anything by this author prior to this but when I saw that blurb, I just knew I had to read this one. So when I got a copy and went in with close to zero expectations, I sure as hell didn't expect to come out feeling like my brain has been blown into smithereens! I loved every single bit of the book- from the moment I picked it up till I put it down in an entire sitting, I was wailing in agony when it ended all too soon.

Both King and Doe were amazing as individuals but even more explosive when they came together. Equally they struggled with the attraction that had for each other; the lust and the confusion which brought out some well needed angst in the read. The author did an amazing job by creating these multi-layered characters and her portrayal of them will leave you feeling incredibly raw as you truly feel for these characters.

If you love anti-heroes in your reads, then you'll enjoy King as much as I did. You'll first meet King as the scary and powerful alpha-male that you won't want to mess with, he's all kinds of dark and dangerous but you just can't stay away from him. But beneath that tough exterior is a man who is capable of great things and when the layers are slowly peeled off, it was just devastatingly beautiful to meet the real King.

"I'd found myself again in the haunted eyes of a girl was just as lost as I was. Or maybe, we didn't find each other at all. Maybe, we just decided to be lost together."

I really loved Doe as a heroine, she had a good amount of resilience albeit the vulnerability she possessed due to her memory loss. She was rather mouthy with King and didn't take any kind of bullshit from anyone, easily a feisty character with some spunk. But most of all, I loved that she had this internal struggle of not knowing who she really was. It really added on another dimension to her character that made me admired her even more. Can you imagine living in someone's body but not knowing or understanding that body at all? The portrayal of Doe being protective and not reckless of her ownself seriously garnered my respect for her character.

Above all, it was the fantastic mix of secondary characters that really brought this book to a complete winner for me. I cannot wait for you guys to meet Preppy, he was such a great addition to the read that made it light-hearted amidst the dark nature of the story. There's also Bear and Grace; together all these characters developed such a strong bond that the focal point of the story doesn't lie entirely with the MCs. It's crazy how I've grown such a strong attachment with them that had me crying and laughing throughout the read.

Although it's a relatively quick read, it sure packs one helluva punch. It's just one of those that you want to devour every single page slowly but yet you can't flip the pages fast enough to know what happens next. Even with a dreaded cliffhanger at the end, I had no complaints about this book at all. Every twist and turn was slotted in perfectly that was enough to blow my mind away. And thank God for the prologue teaser of the next book at the end to help tide the waiting!

It's dark, it's edgy, it will send you on an emotional rollercoaster that will enthralled you from start till the end; King is one masterpiece of a read that will knock the wind out of you when you're done. Undoubtedly another read that goes into my top reads of 2015, I definitely urge everyone to give this one a shot!

King is the first book in the King series. The second book, Tyrant will be out on August 17th.

Re-read note: I savored it the second time around. I think I saw King with a clearer perspective. He's raw, yes, but there was also this sweetness to him in subtle ways I didn't appreciate as much the first go.

First of all... Darn it, King! Why'd you have to go and do that for!?? It was going so well :( I get it, dammit, but I don't like it.

Now other thoughts: King is the bad boy asshole women flock to. He's raw. He's unapologetic. He had this idgaf attitude you can't help but be drawn to. Little miss Doe is no exception. Even if it takes her a little longer to realize it. She's in a very difficult situation and by being in the wrong place, wrong time, things went from bad to FUBAR. She doesn't know who she is and has survived on the streets. She has finally reached her limit. This story touches on some pretty difficult subjects and I don't think it molds itself to what is conventionally considered right but what is right for who the characters are at the time. It's got some very dynamic and complex characters that have some flaws the size of Texas but you still can't help but get attached. Much to my dismay, it's a cliffy that I must finish right away but it does hook you quite well. I will be jumping on part two next for sure. Why the heck didn't I read this sooner? Lol Safety: H starts off story having sex with OW. None after that despite him trying to make h believe otherwise. Book contains rape and abuse. No OM, at least with consent. No sharing. Neither are Vs. There is pushing away.

I keep typing and erasing words because is hard to describe the magnitude of my feelings for King. Everyday we waited for this highly anticipated novel was worth it, T.M Frazier's penmanship has deliver a smashing story that will rip your heart right out of your chest and play with every single one of your emotions. Be ready to cry, lust, love and hate King. This novel is definitely a top best of 2015 read.

King is a criminal, a ruthless player of the lawless world he rules. The day he comes out of prison after serving three years for a crime that changed his life; he goes back into his world but nothing feels the same. He's feeling out of sorts and then he sees a pair of blue eyes so powerful that in an instant they ignite all the light and all the darkness that's inside of him.

Doe can't remember anything about her past, she's been living on the streets for the past two months but has no recollection of how she got there. Desperate for food and shelter she befriends a prostitute who has convinced her the only way to survived is to sell herself. Together they go to the homecoming party of the King of the Causeway looking for a way to carry their mission but the only thing they'll find is big troubles.

Doe can't believe her eyes when she sees the beautiful monster that she is sure will be her destruction or perhaps her salvation. King and Doe battle with the intensity of the hate and lust that is brewing between them. They are trapped in a dark world where lies and pain tie them together but why does the connection between them feels so good, so right?

The complexity of the characters in this story blew me away. King made me love him and hate him at the same time and Doe was simply the best. Her strength and resilience was both heartbreaking and inspiring. I can tell you that while reading this book I cried, laughed and felt every word so deeply that I seriously don't know what to do with myself now that I finished the book; thank God the second part Tyrant will be out soon.

This book ends on a cliffhanger and you know I'm highly allergic to those but the end of King didn't make me crazy, this story filled me up so much that is mostly excitement what I feel after reading it. When you read a book this magnificent you mostly feel appreciative and enamored with the creation of fiction. Don't miss out on this incredible story that will both brake you and make you. Amazing!!!!!!

At first I rated it with 4 stars, but I spent days without being able to stop thinking about it. In the end I gave five stars and then I was fine. Uff.

I had never read anything like this. Yes romance books and erotic books, but nothing like this crude history of King and Doe. Nothing that had consensual and non-consensual raw sex, violence, use of drugs as if it were soft drinks, bad language, the sub world of MC bikers and a total crime environment.

Doe wakes up one day in a dumpster with total amnesia. The doctor tells her that she may never recover her memory. After wandering the streets, going hungry and living prey to the elements, she meets someone who becomes her friend and takes her under her wings; one day tells Doe that she will take her to a party and that she must prostitute herself with a biker so that he can provide security, lodging and food, at least for a while until he tires.

It's the welcome party for King, who just got out of jail. Bear sends her directly to King, who doesn’t accept her because she is very skinny and malnourished for what he needs at that moment: someone who can bear to be fucked hard. After a situation that occurs with Doe's friend, King takes Doe as property for what her friend stole him and handcuff her to his bed.

King obviously is gorgeous, dark and dangerous, career criminal, murderer, drug dealer, but despite knowing how was his past as a young boy, we know little of his life and how he came to be as he is, feared by everyone. He is a tattooist, more for the sake of art than for the need of money.

“I found myself again in the most unlikely place. I’d found myself again in the haunted eyes of a girl who was just as lost as I was. Or maybe, we didn’t find each other at all. Maybe, we just decided to be lost together.”

Doe is beautiful with her almost white hair, and young, very young. She doesn’t look like anyone with whom King has been. She responds and doesn’t stay silent about anything and nobody. She does not remember if she is a virgin and that gives her a certain fear.

“Because when it comes to me and mine, I am the judge. I am the jury. And if need be, I am the motherfucking executioner.”

Doe, despite being attracted to King, is repressed and struggles against her desire to be with him, who in turn is very attracted to Doe, as he had never felt before, and as he realizes that things will not be like with the other many women of one night who have gone through his life, fight against that attraction as much as Doe fights. Once they unleash their attraction and feelings, nothing will be the same as before for both of them.

“King filled me so completely. Not just my body. My heart. My soul. My life. I didn't give a shit if I ever got my memory back. Because with King, I knew exactly who I was. I was his.”

King, Bear and Preppy have a strong bond of friendship that comes from when they were very young. Each character had a very hard situation in their homes while they grew up, which we are getting to know little by little.

The most interesting character by far is Preppy. It's the perfect mix of fun and dangerous; a faithful friend and a ruthless criminal; a drug dealer and a total charm with the oldy women he convinces to grow marijuana in their homes; an expert in making pancakes and his mania of hurting women while he fucks them. In short, a walking contradiction that is very interesting and entertaining.

The book is narrated by Doe and King, which is appreciated. It is very well written, you will feel that you are at Preppy and King’s yard, in the middle of a party with the bikers.

The end. I remained with the open mouth of the outcome. No way I could have imagined that King would do something like that, let alone what Doe's past would be like. I definitely hated the ending, although I understand perfectly why it has to happen, which brings us to the second book in the story of Doe and King, The Tyrant.

“Things don’t always start out the way we want them to. It’s how they end that’s important.”

(“No quiero repetir mi inocencia.

"I don't even know your name."
"They call me King."

Dark. Raw. Angsty. Action packed. Spicy. Plot twists. Fast paced. Dual POV. Betrayal. Alpha male personality. Need I say more?

This was such a wild ride and I enjoyed every page of it. King is an ex con who's trying to rebuild his 'business' and trying to confront his past. In comes Doe, who's got no recollection of who she is- the two meet in not the most pleasing circumstances but sparks fly when King takes her hostage.

If you expect the romance to be rosy and perfect. I suggest this one is not for you. It's dark and imperfect. The characters are flawed and real. If that sounds like something you'll enjoy, do read it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The cliffhanger was so good, it definitely left me wanting for more 😩😩

Thanks to @Anouk who recommended this to me. You were right, this is quite addicting 💗

It's definitely not for the faint hearted, there are a lot of triggers- language, violence, gun violence, graphic sex, rape, kidnapping, loss of life, abuse. (Not in particular order).

This book was just... EVERYTHING.

If authors need 18 months to give us such books.. PLEASE TAKE ALL THE TIME YOU'LL NEED and give us more crazy good books like these :D

He may have been the devil, but his body was sculpted like a god.

“Go ahead and say it. You thought I was a hooker, pleasuring her with my man meat and getting paid for it.”

“You may be weak in body, but it doesn’t seem that mouth of yours got the message.”

Dark, sexy, funny, sweet, raw and soo much more!!
People with a dirty mouth just make a book for me, and this book so wasn't lacking.

The book had an air of mystery. Something always lurking around the corner, I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop! And boy... what a bomb the drop was!!

The book started with me yelling at the screen, because Doe was behaving stupid and I wanted to slap Nikki!
Then it got so hot and cold, so fast it felt like a crazy whiplash!
Then... *phew* boy did the book get super intense!!

I didn’t dream about him; he was right about that. Because King wasn’t a dream. He was a nightmare.

This book had its awesome moments.. The one liners just cracked me up!

“Are you still afraid of me?”
“No,” I answered honestly. “I was. I mean, you can be a lot to take in.”
“Yes, that I am.” He glanced down at his erection.

“I can’t decide if you are always this blunt or just have a bad case of can’t-shut-the-fuck-ups,”

The book made me laugh, cry, smile, and fall in love with two very different sides of King.
King was the perfect badass alpha male!!!

I need Tyrant like NOWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

I love the premise of KING. There's a level of mystery running through that's highly intriguing. The early narrative had me wondering about the heroine's identity and other aspects of the story. I felt the promise of dark places that would stretch my comfort levels and emotions, some moments certainly did this but I really think the story could have pushed me further and taken more risks which would undoubtedly have raised my angst levels and garnered more emotion.

On the surface King is the epitome of a bad boy who lives on the wrong side of the law. A career criminal, he thrives in the underground world taking what he wants and the women he lusts after. He successfully combines his endeavours with being a sought after tattoo artist, making him all the more sexy.

The heroine awakens to a blank past, her identity and memories washed away with whatever happened to her. This is the foundation for much of the intrigue element and kept me engaged in the story. I loved some of her quirkiness, her talking ten to the dozen and saying exactly what she thinks at often inappropriate times. This endeared me to her but, in stark contrast, there are moments I felt a lack of understanding for her character's thoughts and reasoning which slowly eroded my connection to the story as a whole. There are times that I felt frustrated with the direction of the story, the character development and the dialogue, especially relating to the heroine.

King's interaction with his close friends shows the light and shade of his character. There were times I loved his inner monologue and his attraction to the heroine, he made me smile and warmed my heart. Whilst I loved seeing the lighter side of his bad boy persona contrasting with his tough side, I wish king had shown me more of his dark side and that the contrast had been more shocking. I felt glimpses but I craved more and really felt the story could have taken me to darker places, given me more of an edge and thereby made the light feel so much more euphoric. This would have driven the angst levels higher and made my emotions soar.

Preppy, a secondary character completely stole the story, he was the highlight for me and I felt his character was the most developed within the context of the story. I especially loved the interaction between him and King, he literally lit up the pages with his dialogue and witty personality.

King is overall an enjoyable read with some oh-my-goodness moments where my anticipation levels increased. I felt the story picked up pace and grit towards the end when I experienced a greater depth of emotion. Many of my reviewing friends rate this story a glorious 5 stars so I may be firmly in the minority on my individual thoughts, therefore if you love a bad boy hero who is really lovely on the inside than this story may be one you devour and enjoy.

Brantley King has just been released from prison and is at his welcome home party when he first meets Doe.

I didn’t know if I wanted to kill her or fuck her. Maybe both, but one thing was for sure. One way or another, I was going to make her scream. I was finally starting to feel like my old self again.

King isn’t your typical hero. He isn’t a knight in shining armor, a billionaire, or even a nice guy, but boy do I love this guy! King’s life was never easy, but he is resourceful, resilient and a fighter. King isn’t easy to love at first, but the more you see of him and see what motivates him, he is hard not to love.

Doe is lost, barely holding on and completely hopeless. She was found left for dead in alley and while it is a miracle she is alive, she has no memory of who she is. Immediately, I was impressed with Doe, she is a survivor - a quality I love in a person. She is loving and compassionate, but incredibly strong and independent.

When she first meets King she is starving to death and beyond desperate. Circumstances outside of her control, have put her on the wrong side of King - a place you don’t want to be. She has become indebted to him through these circumstances and from here the story really takes off. Doe has no choice, but to stay with King, he is the key to her survival.

This story took me by complete surprise. First, I loved seeing Doe and King struggle with their feelings. They are both lost and unsure, but their desire for each other is blatant. More so, I loved seeing the transformation and watching them open up with each other. I feel like both of these characters come with a U-Haul truck worth of baggage, but they see the value in each other.

King delivers on so many elements. This is a darker novel, but it will take you on an emotional journey with heartbreak, surprise, and complete hotness. The ending left me gasping and begging for more. I wanted to shout from the rooftops for everyone to read it. Days later I still need everyone to read it. I cannot recommend this book enough.

“Oh, pup. How much fun this is going to be.”

How on earth do I even start writing this review? My feelings are so all over the place I don't know how to put them in order. I went through such a whirlwind of emotions - I cried, I was happy, I was frustrated, I was confused, I was scared, I was mad beyond measure and in the end I'm freaking frustrated and suspicious about what comes next. Something smells funny and I want to get to the bottom of it right now, but as it turns out we have to wait until August for the next book.

Oh well, enough time to tell you about King. This is the first instalment in a two part series and also the first time I have read a book by T.M. Frazier and certainly not the last. I guess by now you get that I really, really enjoyed this read. Let's talk story...

Brantley King is a criminal and a tattoo artist. Straight up, no bullshit, bad boy. He chose that kind of life a long time ago and never had plans to change his way of living. But ever since he got out of prison after a three year sentence he has had some issues adjusting to his old life. Booze, bras and blow have lost their appeal. And when a girl with big haunted eyes walks in on him screwing some faceless bimbo his world starts to tumble a little.

Doe, as in Jane Doe, is a lost soul. She was found in the trash not too long ago, beaten up and with no memory about who she is or where she came from. No one is looking for her and the only way to survive on the streets is not the most appealing one at all.

Her desperation and search for protection leads her to a house party and what she finds there will either kill her or safe her life. Or maybe be a little of both...

To say these characters were interesting is the understatement of the century in my opinion. Every one in this book has so many layers and brings so many complications, undisclosed motives and unanswered questions to the table that my head was spinning to keep it all in check.

The first person I fell in love with was Samuel 'Preppy' Clearwater, King's geeky best friend with a little dark side. You can pretty much ask anyone who read this book and they will all tell you he is the person to meet in this universe. He makes you laugh the most and

The second person I was touched by was Doe. Imagine waking up and your whole life is gone. Anyone would break and give up. She is resilient and a survivor, but also way out of her depth. Not just because she doesn't know who she is or where the next meal will come from, but because she stumbles into a situation where she has to deal with the enigma that is King and his world is all kinds of dangerous.

“I didn't know whether I wanted to kill her or fuck her.
Maybe both, but one thing was for sure.
One way or another, I was going to make her scream.”

King has a little hot and cold problem going on. Dangerous and highly possessive, but once he comes into contact with Doe he melts on sight. It's a constant battle between what he should do and what he wants to do.

I really appreciated the dual POV, seeing what goes on both in his head but also Doe's mind. None of the characters behave in a straight forward way. The circumstances are extraordinary and the reactions are erratic at times. King and Doe have an instant lust/hate/fear/curiosity attraction going on, but are too afraid or too calculated to act on them.

If you expect to read a straight up dark romance with a real bad boy you might be disappointed. In fact King is a rather good man, who just acts like the bad seed on the outside. He is capable to do atrocious things, but he has a really good heart hidden to all but a few, even if he doesn't want to admit it.

“My life seems to be a bunch of questions piled on top of a bunch of questions, and frankly, I'm ready to add some fucking answers into the mix before my brain explodes and leaks out of my ears.”

I found myself totally spellbound by this book. It was gritty, well written and littered with twists and turns. I hated putting it down and I didn't want it to end. The mysteries were driving me nuts and the cliffhanger was mean and yet very exciting. After three days I'm still stuck with it and I have so many conspiracy theories in my head it's likely to blow over any moment now.

I am tagging this book as a dark read, but it's not strictly that. There are some dark elements, but for the most part it's more of a mystery and suspense read. You just never get the complete picture and very little gets resolved by the end of this first instalment. In fact it gets more complicated and I was left with more questions than before.

The only saving grace for my sanity was my dear bestie, Supreet. The Buddy Read really helped me bouncing off ideas and theories as to what was going on. Thanks for the fabulous BR, my friend. <33 Can't wait for Tyrant to arrive.

I've been seriously hankering for this book for soooo long and perhaps my expectations were too high…

I know I'm in the minority here. King is definitely an anti-hero, he’s hateful, vengeful, dangerous and volatile. I'll admit, I usually fall instantly for an alpha asshole jerk but for some reason, this didn't happen with King and I really wanted it to.

 photo KING_zpsgqzn7up7.jpg

Doe, a homeless and starving young woman with amnesia, is in a living hell and stumbles into King's life. King claims her as his as payment for something that was stolen from him. I liked Doe although I thought she was too nice and forgiving at times. She had this innocence about her that came across easily.

Her relationship with King is one emotional roller coaster. Like I said, I struggled A LOT because his emotions gave me whiplash. Poor Doe had no clue if he was coming or going, if he'd be in a rage or somewhat normal. There was a moment when I was almost on Team King, I was beginning to feel something positive, maybe even warm and fuzzy while he was on his date with Doe...

Then, I was completely thrown for a loop, which seriously had me spitting nails with the shit he pulled afterwards...

It came totally from left field. I would have perhaps understood if something triggered his colossal dick move or something.

King and Doe's physical relationship was also volatile - “I’d never both hated and wanted something so much in my entire life.”

This is my first T.M. Frazier book but it won’t be my last. While I wanted to like this more, it was still a quick and entertaining read and there were some characters that stole the story, if you ask me. I found myself loving both Preppy and Bear, King's BFFs. And I never realized just how much I adored Preppy until tragedy hits...

Overall, the story felt rushed at times, and while I don’t need to dwell on things or be labour the point, it just seemed like areas that could have been further explored or explained were just skimmed over. For instance, there is one horrific incident with Doe and it just felt like drama for drama's sake. There was no fallout or discussions about it afterwards, when the nightmare she experienced could have been explored a bit more.

The ending has a real good cliffy and an unexpected twist.

I also really liked the sneak peek into the prologue of Tyrant. I will be reading it. I do want to know how this all unfolds.

Holy Shit... KING by T.M. Frazier was a F*CKING BRILLIANT EPIC READ!!!! Pardon my language, but this book was just everything I expected and so much more. It was raw, dark, sensual, captivating, gritty, and an emotional journey that had all the FEELS. This book will grip you to the core and leave you begging for more of KING and his intense personality!!

T.M. Frazier's writing was intoxicating, spellbinding, and hypnotic that you couldn't put this book down. It is one of the reads that you had to devour but at the same time savor. The writing and storytelling was just so gripping that Ms. Frazier literally played and toyed with every emotions. She was like a puppet master who had our emotions on strings. And when you thought you were finally getting to that part of the story where you could feel at ease, Ms. Frazier just had to rip and gut your heart out. Yes, it's one of those reads that plucked, pulled, and toyed with every range of emotions. You wanted to shout, cry, hate, love, and scream WHY KING WHY!! I must be a glutton for punishment because I LOVED EVERY SINGLE MOMENT of this emotional, dark, gritty, cruel and raw read.

If you are looking for a book hero that will open up doors and whisper sweet nothings in your ear, then I'm sorry to disappoint you because KING is none of that. But if you are looking for a hero who acts on his emotions, a total bad ass alpha male hero, a ruthless killer, and who doesn't take shit from no one, then look no further than KING. King, is a ruthless criminal who recently just got of prison serving for a crime that changed his outlook and purpose in life. There are three things that matters to King... Max, Preppy, and Doe.

Doe is a homeless young girl who has no recollection of her past hence the name "Doe". When she finds herself at one King's house party, she didn't expect a circumstance of events would leave her in bed with a monster. King makes it known she belongs to him. His possession. His to take. Simply, his. But through time her perception of him changes. The man she sees as the devil and monster soon transforms into a man that she needs, wants and craves. A man who gives Doe a reason to be alive.

The relationship of Doe and King is not a kind of relationship that can be described as simple. It is one that is complicated but a tangible bond that can't be described by words alone. It's a bond that is deep, raw, heartfelt, palpable, and gritty. It is the kind of love that can destroy you but at the same time give you a meaning to fight and live for. So with no recollection of her past, Doe leans on King and submits to him fully. The walls that surrounds King's heart are crumbling because Doe is the only one who can make him FALL. She gives him hope. His light in the darkness. But what happens when the truth is finally revealed of Doe's identity, can she truly belong to him?

In all honesty, this book is one of those reads that is on my list of favorite reads of 2015. A book of this magnitude really showcases how resilient, raw, captivating, spell-binding and bewitching Doe, King, Preppy and Bear are in this book. What I love about this story is how T.M. Frazier can grip us with her masterful storytelling. She makes you FEEL and EXPERIENCE every heartbreak, anger, lust, hatred, and sorrow of all her characters. When a book can leave you breathless and in awe, then you know you have read an amazing book. And that was what KING was for me. Ms. Frazier did a phenomenal job interweaving so many raw elements but at the same time gave us a story with so much depth, honesty, grit, and palpable emotions. She was able to elevate this story to another level where you saw that looks can be deceiving and not to judge a character by their appearance. I want to thank Ms. Frazier for introducing readers to a complicated and complex hero that has stole my heart. So if you are looking for a book where you are taken down a dark, raw journey that has possibility of a luminous and hopeful ending then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to read KING.

there will be a review in the video that i'm reading this book for but i guess i could say a few words here

i feel like this book didn't know what it wanted to be. at times it had the motorcycle club vibes (and there are MC side characters), at times it was a will-they -won't- they semi-chaste romance, at times it was a cheesy amnesia story.

the writing was nice and accessible and the characters definitely weren't abhorrent. but i didn't care much for King. it was like he also couldn't figure out what to be (which our heroine points out lol). like are you a macho tough guy? are you soft? i get trying to make a character complex but i just got whiplash from the seemingly random characterization and actions of this dude.

if you want a story with similar bad boy romanticized kidnapping vibes there are much more interesting options in the MC romance genre.

They call me Doe
As in Jane Doe

Doe is living on the streets, not knowing her name or anything about her background due to memory loss. She is befriended by a girl called Nikki who tells her the best she can hope for is to get close to a Biker who can shelter her and protect her.She knows what this means but sees no other option than agreeing to go to a party at King's house....

King has just been released from prison and his friend Preppy is throwing him a welcome home party. While at the party Nikki makes a huge mistake and King decides Doe must re pay the debt by staying with him.She does make an escape only to be brought back by King.At this point, all is not what it seems though...

So I did something.Something that made the decision to go after her an easy one.A decision that would forever change the lives of everyone around me.
Some for the good.
Some for the bad.
Some for the dead.
I found out who Doe really was.

King is a complex character...Scary,fierce,a typical Alpha Male but deep down he had a softer side and a strong loyalty to those he cared about. What started of as one thing with Doe turned into something else along the way...
Doe,had a kind of innocence about her but also a fiesty spirit as she battled with the girl she was now and the one she left behind

The first half of the book IMO was about character development and it's not until the second half when things really start to happen. There are two great secondary characters in Bear and Preppy....oh Preppy what's not to love about him.He and King have been friends since a young age and have a strong friendship. The Author created such a brilliant, unique character in him..I just ADORED him...everyone should have a Preppy in their lives!!

There's been a lot said in reviews about the ending and my God the last 15% of this book was amazing.Something happened and I thought no the Author's not going there....and yes she totally did and I was .......well I'm not saying anything to spoil this.
Secrets are revealed and there's something that I totally wasn't expecting...
Brilliant,loved it...August can't come soon enough!!!!
