Excellent motivational book! If you are sedentary, or active in a hit or miss kind of fashion, read this book! It will motivate you to get up and moving, even if just a little bit each day, towards a healthier you. Wow, this book was a real eye-opener. I don't usually go in for "fitness" books, but someone recommended this one and I'm very glad I read it. The authors describe their research and testing results from the Cooper Clinic and give you fact after fact about why it's so medically beneficial to get away from a sedentary lifestyle. I'm a die-hard couch potato, but the info in this book got me up and moving!

Pretty good introduction to the benefits of exercise, along with three exercise plans. The book is geared towards sedentary people over 50, and while it's a little out of date now, much of the advice is timeless.

I didn't get to finish the last half of this book before it was due at the library, but the first half was informative, touting very important reasons to get moving. Research presented in the book seemed to show that even more important than losing weight is activity level. Right now my activity level could really use a boost! I'll revisit this book sometime in the future to see what the last half of the book says.

Definately a way to motivate yourself off the couch and walk around the house, or at work get up every hour and walk.

So many reasons to get moving for your health, and it all makes sense. Easy to follow guides for sedentary people to start with and slowly build up to, as well. Highly recommended to read.

Love this book. I read it a year ago and started to track my steps--realized I wasn't moving enough--and have been tracking every day since then--and MOVING again.
