It's not quite suitable for a first time look at the subject matter I think, and the book certainly doesn't claim to be so, however as a way to quickly review concepts or look up formulas it is an invaluable tool for a would-be physicists; it's concise and organized, the notation is clear and commonly used and the illustrations are plentiful.

In summary, it was well worth the price.
