Michael did the unthinkable to save Airel from death, but now he must live with the choices he has made--both good and evil. Tortured by his past and haunted by what he believes might be his future, Michael seeks redemption--but will the past prove to be too strong? How can he break free of it and be the man he longs to be for Airel? If only he had never... Airel. Michael's one true love. He had forced her to drink in new life only to find that old wounds and deep scars do not heal overnight. Can she truly forgive Michael, can she truly love him? And can he accept that forgiveness? Or is it all for nothing, and has he gone too far already? As the darkness of past choices closes in on them, chases them, intercepts them, coming at them from everywhere at once, how can their love possibly survive?
I really love this series. When I first started it I was intrigued by the story of the Angel's who left heaven to live on earth. Even though this is a work of fiction, enough of the Bible is interwoven into the story to really make the reader think beyond the story. I am definitely going to be recommending this to my friends
(addition to review: Please be careful which editions you purchase. There is 1 Airel book and 1 Michael book that have both part 1&2 (A) and part 3&4 (M). There is only 1 Uriel, so no worries there.)
This series is absolutely not anything I imagined it would be - It is more!! Oh so much more!! While this series does start off as a YA book with Airel, it very quickly sucks you in and before you know it, you are living the lives of (& with) Airel, Kim, Michael, Kreios and Ellie and the rest, and it has become way more than your typical YA series. But what a life! I do have to say, in my review of Airel I had said the following "...I was a little leery about the part that says "..it takes a miracle for that same male, or in this case males, to write a novel from the POV of a teenage girl...". ...", but now after having finished Michael and Uriel, I like the difference it makes. Between seeing this from a male perspective and what Airel becomes (no spoilers here!), her decisions and thoughts, take on a whole new meaning. I love these books more than I thought I would. They are definitely books that I will read over and over and over again!! Bottom line: I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD GIVE THIS SERIES A READ!!! IF YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO LOVES PARANORMALS/ANGELS/CHARACTERS YOU CAN RELATE TO AND STORIES YOU CAN GET LOST IN, THEN THIS IS THE SERIES FOR YOU!!!
3.5 it's not bad but it's still was able to lose me and I haven't finished the last book I was one because it was getting a bit old. But others may find the entire series amazing... I was just getting bored. I find that I'm getting better with just not finishing the series.... especially since I know there are so many other books I'd rather read and enjoy.
