Diego is having a springtime fiesta at the animal clinic - but first he has to rescue the baby bunnies! Using spanish phrases throughout the text, Diego locates 5 missing baby bunnies and explains some of the behavioral characteristics of rabbits.

Diego's Springtime Fiesta presents a story that is identifiable to children of any nationality - yet still presents a unique take on learning language. By including Spanish words and phrases throughout the text, and accompanying them with complementary English that enables the reader to understand them, Diego and Dora books are a unique learning tool for small children. As an adult, I was amazed that the word 'Mira' which means 'to look' - seemed to fit comfortably into the text. After having taken Spanish for 4 years I'm not sure that phrase ever stuck - but hearing it in the context of an English story made it easier to remember.

Paired with bright, flat images, Diego's Springtime Fiesta is a great way to get young children started on a second language - without them even knowing!
