What happens when best friends discover there is more to their friendship? Betrayal and tragedy help them discover that the love they sought was always there. Dear Lorna is a story about awareness and understanding and how the written word can open our eyes, minds and hearts to who we are.
I overall enjoyed this book but at times felt lost. Like one other reviewer stated, it felt like these characters came from another book as the backstory was pretty much nonexistent. That made it difficult to really feel the connection the two main characters, Dr. Lorna Pierce and Detective Sky Remini. You are sort of plunged right into the heart of it. Don't get me wrong the writing I felt was well done and the letters they wrote to each othef sweet. But connection not really there. Solid 3 stars with a little extra cause it was a free read on kindleUnlimited. Give more of the backstory cases and family dynamic and its easily a 4.
I was excited to read this book. The premise is good. However it simply fell flat for me. The story could use an edit. The emotions were good. The idea was good. But repeated words and the letters rewritten a couple of times took me out and I couldn't get back in.
With glimpses of backstory shown to the reader through memories and letters, this story is an “in the moment” love exploration of two people trying to find their way. The progress of a deep friendship and work relationship has developed into an unbinding love. Keep a tissue or two nearby as these characters can pull on your heartstrings.
Beautiful story. The author takes you in a rollercoaster of emotions. I caught myself being inspired, angry, sad and overjoyed. The only thing I'll change or better said elaborate more is to know more about their back story. To get to read all about their working relationship and all the tension between Lorna and Sky.
This was a great love story I couldn't put it down it keeps u guessing and keeps u on the edge of ur seat but but it has a great story line loved it from Belgian to end
