A Silent Place Below by March Fox is an intriguing sci-fi, supernatural action packed read. Two brothers part of the Brightstar Clan must first save their father with the help of their uncle. Soon after they rescue their sister bringing everyone back to the magical tunnels they have sought refuge in. The tunnels give them special psi powers of communication and the ability to see the future. Together they work against INTEGRATION which is quickly sweeping the planet.

Fox’s words are vivid enough

I have to say I read this intriguing story in one breath. The story itself keeps you chained to the book from the first to the last page. The specific and very detailed description of the places and of the characters say so much about the author's capacity to depict all of it with words, making your imagination start running freely in the process. Her style is excellent and inspiring with a high sense of plot, flow of the story. New characters, emotions, way of life and places, will keep you ast ...more

This is the third book into this series, and the story and characters seem to get better and better! Perhaps it is just my increasing vestment in connecting with the world Ms. Marcha created. I am not usually a sci-fi reader, as sometimes the terminology and even names can seem confusing, but once I got sucked into this series, it seems I cannot let go! These books are action packed, fast paced, full of conflicts, and have a political/social undertone that symbolizes all we find horrifying, yet ...more

A Psilent Place Below or Where the Power of Truth Lives

In, A Psilent Place Below, the third book of the Star Trails Tetralogy, the familial dream of togetherness still seems far away for the Brightstar family. Laren Brightstar languishes in prison while his two older children, Creena and Dirk, still seem to have one foot in childhood. As they struggle to find their purpose within the family, they waste their energy by indulging in petty arguments and childish insults. Creena trusts her intuition

4.5 stars for this 3rd installment in a mind-stretching sci fi series. Having come to connect with the characters, I was eager to continue the story. Intriguing species and amazing concepts bring new "wow" moments and conflicts into the mix, but the pacing was a bit uneven. The increasing danger to the Brightstar family kept me turning pages until the cliffhanger ending, and I'm anxious to dive into the last book to find out what happens to this family I've come to care about (and their friends) ...more

I purchased the Star Trails Tetralogy Box Set, but am reviewing each book as I finish reading it.

The Brightstars are finally all on the same planet, but their nemesis, Troy is still making their lives hell, which is easy to imagine since Cyraria is in its hot phase and the weather is deadly (literally). Troy has Laren Brightstar in prison on trumped up charges. Dirck and Creena are trying to learn to get along, thoug she still relies on intuition and he only trusts his logic and things he can s

This book was great. The story keeps the reader fascinated and longing for the next novel in the series. The characters in the book are believable. You want the good guys to outwit the bad and win.

“He could have a break at last, albeit a short one, one he sorely needed. And with that appealing thought he further squelched the subconscious screams, true message lost in the deceptive world of emotion and will.” 5 likes
“The transition from subject to observer was instantaneous, sensations, sights, and sounds changing from instruments of torment to a fascinating display of electronic signals. The spectra included thousands of frequencies, visual, audio and psi bands alike, each customized for a specific effect, a pseudo symphony for an audience of one.” 1 likes
