True love gets a second chance this Christmas in Mustang Creek

Growing up in Mustang Creek, Wyoming, Charlotte Morgan couldn't wait to escape to the big city. But with a job she doesn't love and a sense of loneliness she can't shake, life in New York is less fabulous than she'd like to admit—especially now that veterinarian Jaxon Locke has left town.

Jax's move to Idaho to

Christmas at Mustang Creek by Linda Lael Miller is a 2015 HQN publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

This light and charming story is exactly what you want from a holiday read.

Charlotte- aka- Charlie is a city girl through and through. She has a career in advertising, lives in New York, and loves the hustle and bustle of city life. So when her boyfriend, Jaxon, makes the decision to leave the city, she can't see herself a

Charlotte Morgan may have grown up in a small town but her passion was for the big city lights. She became educated and wanted to build a career and in the city fell in love with a country boy. But when it was apparent that it was the wrong time for them to be together, she had to let him go even if it broke her heart to do it. But she knew they weren't compatible like they needed to be. But then she lost he

I am really not on a good reading streak at the moment. In keep picking up books and wading through pages hoping to find something that will interest me but it is just not happening. Christmas in Mustang Creek is the latest in a long line of books that I just didn’t like.

To be honest this wasn’t a bad book and I didn’t hate it but it bored me. The writing was fine but not enough happened and the characters, although well writing, just weren’t likeable enough. I did find this book sweet and it ce

I loved the cover of this book - the snow, the lake, the trees and horse in the background and even the lucky couple who are sure to get their HEA. Unfortunately, the cover is pretty well where my love stopped.

I love Christmas stories during this time of the year and I was very disappointed. Although the book is well written and edited, it was extremely boring. Yes, there were moments that were sweet, but they too were boring.

And when I wasn't bored, I was frustrated.

Charlotte is supposed to be

This was cute holiday story to round out the Brides of Bliss County series. While I did like the couple, Charlotte and Jackson, the story was a little underwhelming. Jaxon was very sweet in his pursuit of Charlie, but I think the story was longer than it needed to be and at times repetitive. The "Klozz" effect was a cute idea, but got a little corny after a while. I guess it was supposed to have you believe in the magic of the season. Anyway, I do recommend this series as a whole. I finally did it, last week after years of seeing people reviewing Linda Lael Miller's books I finally decided to bite the bullet after this one strayed across my path at the library a while back. I wasn't sure how Christmas at Mustang Creek would read since it is the fourth book in the Brides of Bliss County series but I was worried for nothing.

This was a quick and easy holiday read and one that I really needed. I'd read a pretty heavy sort of book and this was just the right amount of lighteni

Christmas in Mustang County looked cute and sweet when I read the blurb and it definitely lived up to my expectations even though I am nowhere near ready for the Christmas season to begin.

The story is centered around Charlotte and Jax … his quest to win her back and her quest to try to convince herself that Mustang Creek is not the place for her. There’s nothing exciting, nothing high-powered and certainly not a place for her to apply her adv

This is a nice warm, wintry tale about a girl who has to admit defeat in New York and drive home to Mustang Creek. She's had to put a relative who raised her in assisted living, and wants to make sure everything is okay. Happy to see her is the veterinarian who fell in love with her before she left for the big city. But is she still the same girl, and why does the fact that they once had a romance mean all the old biddies in town think they'll be getting married?

Some fun and frolics as you'd ex

Christmas in Mustang Creek is #4 in The Brides of Biss County, and is a delightful shorter story for the Christmas season.

Charlotte is returning home to the small Wyoming town to the house she shared with her aunt since childhood. Her aunt is now in a home, because she has a little dementia. Residing in the house is the warm, rather mysterious Mrs Klozz. (say her name out loud and you'll get the idea). A little Disney, but kinda sweet. She certainly has the Christmas spirit and is not about doin

Christmas in Mustang Creek reminds me of Debbie Macomber’s Christmas books, but with a little more spice. The resemblance is strongest in the character of Mrs. Klozz, a warm, caring older woman with an almost magical touch in the kitchen, who seems determined to set Charlotte’s life to rights – and Jaxon’s too, while she’s at it. Add in a small town, a huge Victorian house, an adorable puppy, Christmas trees, and even a skiing trip, and you’ve got a comforting Christmas romance. There’s little r ...more

Everyone needs a Mrs. Klozz in the kitchen at Christmastime

Charlotte Morgan has lived and worked in advertising in New York City for the last seven years. Now events conspire against her and her career and she heads back to Mustang Creek, Wyoming right before Christmas, wanting to help her elderly great aunt that raised her.

Veterinarian Jaxon Locke has taken a job in Mustang Creek partnering with another vet but he's really there to win over Charlotte's heart (or Charlie as he calls her).

This was not what I had expected from Linda Lael Miller. I'm accustomed to her contemporary romances...and the ones I really enjoyed were the McKettrick and Creed series.

This was more of a fairy tale with a Christmas theme with a woman named Mrs. Klozz...( really?) who doesn't seem to have any background and who suddenly disappears, who knows things that will happen, etc.

I'm very glad I got this from the Library and didn't pay $17.99 for the small hard over or $9.99 for the ebook. LL Miller is

If you're gonna do Christmas, you may as well do it the Mustang Creek way. I loved this and wish I knew more about Mrs. Klozz. This is a lovely and wholesome romance.

This was a heartwarming holiday story with just the right amount of sizzle. Charlie grew up in Mustang Creek, raised by her aunt after her parents were killed. But she wanted more than the small town life, so she headed for New York City as soon as she could. She's spent seven years living the life in the big city, but lately she hasn't been as happy as she was. The job isn't as great as it used to be, she doesn't really have any friends, and the dating scene stinks. There was one man that had p ...more

It seems like I always read more Christmas stories all year round than around the Holidays season.

Charlotte couldn't wait to leaver her hometown. Now she's back in Mustang Creek after seven years in New York after losing her job and to take care of the aunt who raised her when her parents died when she was a toddler. Geneva was already in her late fifties when she inherited the responsibility and now Charlotte think it's time to give back the attention and care her aunt once gave her and before

Christmas in Mustang Creek: The Brides of Bliss County is by Linda Lael Miller. It is a cute romance. You know how it will end but you don’t know how they will get there. That makes it easier to put the book down when life interferes, especially sleep.
Charlotte Morgan and Jaxon Locke met in New York City. She had a good job and a nice apartment and loved the life of a big city. Jaxon was a veterinarian but he wasn’t a fan of the city life. When he went back to Idaho to help while his Dad was il

Terrible. I'm embarrassed that it is on my read list; however, in my defense, it popped up on my audio library book account (probably because I'm reading the Wyoming Longmire series and this is also set in Wyoming) and, really, there is nothing available in my local audio library. So it was something to listen to...I guess. Here's a couple of things: No one says "critter." No one. Not even in Wyoming. And nobody would fly into Denver and then take a plane to Cheyenne only to rent a car there to ...more

Christmas in Mustang Creek by Linda Lael Miller is a marvelous addition to The Brides of Bliss County series. This sweet romance takes place a few days before Christmas and it is a light-hearted and easy to read novel that old and new fans of the series are going to love.

Hot Vet who is also good with his hands and lips…NOW!
I liked this story…Jaxon knew who and what he was and he wasn’t afraid to go and get it, take it, and live it. Charlotte, or Charlie as Jaxon called her, was a farce. She was so busy trying to prove that she was big city and successful that she lost sight of what and who was important. I don’t like people like that…and you know what else I don’t like…people who can’t see the forest through

I love Christmas stories and Linda Lael Miller is one of my favorite authors. I always like when authors continue a series and at least one of the books is set at Christmas. In this case it was unexpected since I thought there were only going to be three books in the The Brides of Bliss County series.

This is Jax and Charlie's (Charlotte) story and there's a lot of Christmas magic going on between Mrs. Klozz, Charlotte's Aunt Geneva and especially Jax and Charlie. There are a lot of twists and tu

This story was a cute Christmas story that had me smiling pretty much the whole time. Jaxson and Charlotte were sweet. They dated about a year ago and they broke up. Jaxson found out Charlotte was moving back to her hometown and decided to move there to win her over. The plus side was that he had a job lined up.

Their was a matching matching that was done by a mysterious woman who has been helping with her sick aunt and her pets until Charlotte returned. This book reminded me of mrs miracle book

This was a perfectly acceptable Christmas romance; however, I hated the fact that the first half or so of this book was mostly filled with inner-dialoguing and a lot of angst.

You have to understand the level of romance in this book –this couple had already been in love and things just didn’t truly work out. Each one wanted something different out of life. Now that Jax has heard that Charlie is back in Mustang Creek and he comes and takes a job there to win back Charlies heart. Sweet and perfect

So much to dislike and not much to like.

For one thing, no one should adopt a pet on Christmas Eve, ever.

For another, no one should ever give someone a puppy as a present on Christmas, at least not without prior approval of the recipient.

Then again, who makes a dog wear a scarf? If the weather is so cold that the dog is uncomfortable, then a sweater is called for. A scarf is just decoration to make the owner smile. It's meaningless to the dog.

Also, who can knit an entire scarf, even a dog sca

Didn't work for me. The heroine's friends and family all agree with the hero that she belongs in the country and should just marry the guy, making her protests seem weak and pointless. Add in the fact that others take care of all her (quite valid) practical problems with the hero's plan, and the conflict at the center of the novel is non-existent.

I'm fine with romances where the conflict between the hero and heroine is minimal to non-existent, but most authors replace that conflict with some oth

It is rare that I do not finish a book written by an author I like but this book fell into that category. I was never thrilled with the key romantic characters. I liked the side ones better. I kept reading in hopes the book would improve. Sadly when I got about 35% in, the heavy sex scene began... I completely lost interest in the female character. Some will like this book. Sadly I'm not one of them.

A new character with a good story line. Another fun romance for Miller fans. Look for Mrs. Llozz and see who you think she is.

It's a romance which is not my typical genre. Read as part of a summer reading challenge. It reminded me of those sappy Halmmark Christmas moives.
