Ross Black is a failure.
He failed to protect his little brother from their past.
He failed to keep him out of trouble.
And now he’s having trouble holding onto the one girl who gets him. The one who makes him want to act like more of a man and less of an asshole. But he has a choice to make--take care of his brother or take care his heart. It's not an easy decision especia

Book Two: Blackout.

Four Stars.

Well, after the ending of book one, I was scared to start to this one for fear of crying again!

This one is more about our other leading male, the mysterious Roscoe Black and of course our lovely lady Shelia.

I was heartbroken after reading Because Of Luke, after everything that these four people had been through for it to end like that but Roscoe holds himself to blame, for everything, after what happended to Luke, Roscoe say's "People in comas don't usaully wake up

Blackout (Lewiston Blues 2) by F.X. Scully

I've mixed feelings about this book, I loved the first one but HATED the ending....still, I needed to see what happened next. Sheila is staying with Ross, Luke is in prison and Shannon and Sheila’s parents are looking after the children. Everyone seems distraught, understandably, and trying hard to move forward. I love Ross, he's feeling really guilty because he thinks he failed Luke, and now he's failing Sheila. He

I was provide a copy of both books by the Author for an honest review.

Ok so I am gone do this a little different, since I got to read both books at one time, I am gone write a little about both books. I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything way.

Book 1

I really like the books and like the characters,

this book take place in the 90's, and its about two sister, and two brothers Roscoe, one that would do anything for the band to success, and Lucas would stay in the band but what

Don’t mind me. I might still be holding a grudge over what happened to Shannon in Because Of Luke. Just a little one. I didn’t quite work through it while reading Blackout.

Now we are here in Black Rose and we are back to Luke’s story and now Coco’s. (Coco was Sheila, Shannon’s sister, the love of Luke’s brother Ross’s life, best friend.) She grew up next door to the Black brothers and was fairly close to Luke for a long time.

Luke isn’t coming back from Shannon’s death well, he is out of prison n

I think this is the most frustrating series I have read and I love it. This book is more about healing and sacrifice. Ross and sheilas POV are good, but they hide too much stuff from each other. I'm seriously frustrated and my kindle is taking a beating. All these characters deserve so much more, but life just sucks. This may be the closest I felt about reading a book in what can happen in real life and honesty I'm just wandering when they are getting cut a break. Shannon dying in the fir

After reading Because of Luke I was very excited about Blackout…Things left off pretty dreary I won’t spoil either of the books in case you haven’t read them but man the ending was bleak. There are so many things I wanted from Luke that he just wasn’t ready for ya know? He made a lot of mistakes and by the end of the first Lewiston Blues book he had yet to learn from them. Blackout focuses on Ross Black he has serious demons to ba

This book is a little hard for me to review. The first book tore me apart. I was an emotional wreck so I was eager to read this book and fine the HEA I desperately wanted after the first book. This book ended a little incomplete but a third book is to be written so I am hoping for the answers I didn't get in this book.

Like the first book I really enjoyed the characters. Very easy to relate to. Mainly the authors doing. Scully creates as world and characters that drawl you in completely. I couldn

I so loved this book. I've got to admit I was afraid to start this after the cliffhanger of book one.

Book one, Because of Luke, was based mainly about the band. This one is more about Riscoe and Sheila. I didn't really like Sheila in book one but that changed in book two.

These books aren't the warm fuzzy romantic type. It's angsty and will pull on your emotions. If your looking for a book that should be sold with tissues then this is the one.

Loved book one but loved this even more. Looking fo

F.X. Scully loves romance, but she doesn't write your typical Happily Ever After. Because let's face it, in the real world, it can sometimes take a lot of angst and pain before you get there. And some of us never do. But since most of us pick up books to escape the real world, her stories don't lack hot boyfriends and sexy encounters. Neither will she leave you completely heart broken, sobbing int ...more
