I got a copy in exchange for an honest review

It was quite some time ago that I read the first book in this series, so when I started this book I had some difficulties getting into the story. There was some recap of the events in the past book so I quickly understood again where the story was, but I had most difficulties remembering who the characters where and what their personalities where.

The story starts off pretty slow and nothing really seemed to be happening. The characters are running fo

Astral Tide is the sequel to Anna Silver's Otherborn, a YA dystopian story with strong paranormal components. In this second book the group of six friends has dwindled to four and we follow them on their journey, not only to escape the Tycoons, but to gain enlightenment about the power their 'Other' selves can release.
Anna Silver's rich descriptions allow the reader to appreciate the contrast between the two worlds of the Otherborn; the barren and dangerous Outroad and the lush and breath-taking

Astral Tide is an exciting sequel to Otherborn. It resumes where Otherborn left off. I was thrilled to find I was right in assuming that since the initial world building was complete, the sequel would be even better than the original. Astral Tide is well-written and compelling. I only wished more had happened in London's fight against the Tycoons.

London and her friends, Zen, Kim, and Tora, are still evading the Tycoons and their guards. We journey with them as they run from one Outroad camp to a

Finally the long-awaited sequel to ‘Otherborn’!

You can expect wicked action and emotionally engaging characters in this deeply satisfying read. Anna Silver has limitless potential and this spellbinding sequel is proof. From her breakthrough style to her genuine characters you can’t help but fall in love with ‘Astral Tide’.

It’s been months and Rye is still missing. Don’t let the time gap fool you into thinking the action has let up, the punches are still being thrown right and left and the char

I'm always apprehensive reading the second book in a series where I absolutely loved the first book. You never know if it's going to hold up to the sheer awesomeness of the first book. But this book definitely surpassed my expectations. It is even better than Otherborn. What I loved about this book is that there are a ton of twists and turns. You simply do not know what's coming. This one is way more of a thrill ride than the first book and yet, at the same time, Silver continues to unravel the ...more

Seven months have passed, and London and her friends aren’t any closer to rescuing Rye or getting the answers they so desperately need to defeat the Tycoons. Everywhere they go, the Tycoons seem to be a half step behind them, catching up and keeping them on their toes so they can barely think straight. Add to that, London’s guilt that she hasn’t looked back and is slowly falling for Zen, and emotions are running high. Can they find the answers they need on the Astral Plane, or will their emotion ...more

Astral Tide is the second book in the Otherborn series. I read the first book early last year, and thought it was a great dystopian, mixed with some science fiction. I was pretty excited to read another installment, and see where it all was going. London and her friends have escaped the New Eden, and are trying to find somewhere safe. Which is not going to be easy. It is believed that people who dream are ill, so they have people after them because they can not only dream, but make other things

This needed to happen. The dreaming needed to come back. The Astral needed a way back into this world, and they had been it.

It had been quite some time since I read the first book in the Otherborn series, so when I first started reading Astral Tide it took me a little while to get a grasp on the story and remember how things played out and ended in Otherborn. But as I continued to read, things started to come back to me and I was able to immerse myself in the story.

The story

Astral Tide picks up a few months after the end of Otherborn and the night that London lost her true love,Rye. Now London,Kim,Tora and Zen are being chased by the Tycoons who seem to know where the gang always is located and that's because of Avery, the one who betrayed them in return for a luxurious life.

Apart from them, the Tycoons are looking for people like London, people who have the ability to dream. They are spreading rumo

After greatly enjoying OTHERBORN, I was eager to get my hands on this followup. Anna Silver does not disappoint.

We immediately get thrust back into the story, where our main character, London, and her friends are on the run from the Tycoons. We see the aftermath from the first book's cliffhanger ending, and London doesn't know who to trust or where to turn. Along the way, the gang meets new people, new adventures, but never lose sight of why they are there-- to get people to start dreaming again
Astral Tide is such an imaginative and unique story. The ethereal mood throughout is refreshing, since I don’t typically read many books involving another plane of existence. The Astral here is like a character rather than a place, which is pretty interesting. I liked the special abilities that the characters that have an Other were able to develop – such as warping space to create water or a ledge. Very cool if you ask me. I enjoyed the character development in the story as well. London was coo ...more

WARNING CLIFFHANGER!!! I’m not super angry though cause I’m hopeful. The character development was awesome London is done falling all over the place she has embraced her destiny and will do what it takes to make things right and confront her enemy. I can’t wait for the showdown! Ms Silver has taken an amazing world and made it MORE!! I know there is more to come and I can’t find out exactly whats next. The level of mystery was still there but
This was a fantastic sequel. The story picks up as London and her friends are on the run from New Eden, the tycoon paradise. After discovering a betrayal, they are all a little out of sort and quite confused about what to do next. There is tons of drama and excitement all the way through, and lots of development for the story line and the characters.

London's Otherborn skills need some work, but once she puts her mind to maxing out her abilities, she accomplishes some pretty amazing things. The O

Last year I won Otherborn in a Goodreads giveaway and really enjoyed it, so when I was offered a copy in exchange for an honest review I jumped at the chance. Astral Tide picks up shortly after Otherborn ends, with London and her Otherborn friends on the run from the Tycoons. As they try to keep one step ahead of their pursuers, London, Kim, Tora and Zen attempt to develop their Otherborn abilities. The chase is thrilling and the mystery of their world is discovered bit by bit. The book slowly b ...more

Exciting to get back to London and her friends! In this sequel to OTHERBORN, London and company learn even more about their Others and how to use the Astral. On the run from the Tycoons only gives them time to ready themselves when it's time for battle. I can't wait for the final book to come, because then we will see what they've learned and be ready to cheer them on as they face the Tycoons. Another great book from Mrs. Silver!! ...more

I thought this book was fantastic. I really liked how fast paced it was. Exciting and action packed. This book had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. London and her friends are on the run with danger at every turn. There's also a love triangle (or quadrangle if that's a thing) which had me rooting for one guy and then the other. Now I am eagerly awaiting the third book in this series. ...more
