Firts of all, let me give you a piece of advice: do not read this book if you don't have the next one in the series! The ending have a serious cliffhanger!!!

OK, now to review.

The book is really interesting, even if I don't particularely like the first person narritive and here the tale is told by the heroine, Grace.
And here it works very, very well.

I liked the insight on Grace's toughts and feelings. Sometimes they were heartbraking, sometimes stupid, sometimes courageous - a wide range!

State of Grace is not at all what I thought it would be like. It's a paranormal romance/time travel novel set in Brecon, Wales. Grace Llewellyn is dying of an incurable brain tumour and often finds herself transported back to various time periods but still in the same location. During these unexplained trips that simply happen out of the blue (which she attributes to her tumour), she meets and falls in love with an intriguing vampire named Roman, who had been born in Roman times and resurrected ...more
Grace came home to die. What she didn’t know was that coming home would also give her a chance to live a lifetime of love in her dreams. State of Grace by Elizabeth Davies defies genre lines, part historical romance, part time travel and part paranormal romance.

Was it the drugs that induced Grace’s lifelike dreams? Follow Grace as she goes back hundreds of years only to meet a handsome, hulk of a man, Roman. They have nothing in common, except that they each are creatures of fairytales and fant

4.5 stars. I loved it! Its a beautifully written historical romance with a paranormal/time travel twist. I was drawn into Grace's world from the first page, and felt for her having to deal with a fatal illness. She was both captivated and terrified by Roman and his medieval world. I can see why Roman was intrigued by her - she was so very different from any other woman he had known and her knowledge of the future (our present day) would be fascinating. I loved the contrast between modern day &am ...more

I loved this book! Elizabeth Davies is a wonderful author! I loved how she brought the story together, it was so heartbreaking, dangerous and romantic all at the same time. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next!

When grace is told she only has a few short months left to live, she moves home to be with her family for her final days. Lost and not really sure how to go about dieing gracefully she spends a lot of time thinking about how much she misses her lif
What an amazing start to a series

This was one of those books I simply devoured. I'm so glad the other books in this series are already available. It was well worth its current $2.99 listing price. I started book 2 immediately upon completion. This is must read for paranormal lovers. It has it all and then some. I loved the originality. It definitely not your usual paranormal read that feels like something you’ve read before. This is in a class of its own! To say I'm impressed would be an underst

Wow. This book is phenomenal. You open the book to the first page, and you automatically get goosebumps. "I came home to die" is about the best hook I've ever heard to draw the reader in. Then the author proceeds to describe the main character's , grace's, home. It was incredibly detailed, and I honestly felt like I knew exactly where it was taking place and what everything looked like.
Then sometime after that grace st

I was very interested when I read the info on this book, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed.
It was so descriptive, and I was just in awe with the amazing details. I felt like I was right in the middle of the book, and I just couldn't get enough!
The beginning is a little slow, but it was very helpful when you get deeper into the book. It was sad thinking Grace was just coming home to die. She had

This book will hook you in from the very first line! It is possibly one of the strongest opening phrases I have seen in a long time ... and I read a lot of books!

Just when I think I have probably read pretty much everything in the world of vampire fiction an author comes along and takes me somewhere new.

This book has a little bit of everything and manages to merge it all seamlessly and still leave you wanting mo

I wish I could give partial stars... If I could I would give this book a 4.8 or maybe a 5.5, the difference being if I felt "challenged" or CHALLENGED!
I enjoyed getting to know Grace and Roman here. The plot line was a bit different from any I had read or hard about before. A woman with an "expiration date" dangling over her head goes back in time.... This book has some eroticism, romance, history, current events, science.... (Ok so the science is mostly Grace trying to explain stuff)

I loved the State of Grace.
It reminded me a bit of the Time Traveler’s Wife, but it’s still good.
I love the concept and the flow of the story.
At first I was confused on some parts but as I read more and more I got to have a hang of it.

The characters, Roman and Grace, their character is unique.
I love how the characters have their own interesting traits.
Roman, he may be ruthless and vicious sometimes but I love his sweetness and tenderness toward

This book was sent to me by the author to read in exchange for a review.

Whenever I read a genre of book that is different from what I normally read, it takes me awhile to get into the book. I thought that with this being a paranormal book, it would take me a while. It took maybe 30 minutes to be hooked and I had to read all three books right away. I loved this twist on the vampire legends. I think that the tumor does have something to do with Grace time-traveling but as to why she keeps showing

"I came home to die." Wow! What a way to open a novel. From that first line, I was hooked. I couldn't put it down and soon I was into the second book, "Amazing Grace" and then number three, "Sanctifying Grace".

Elizabeth Davies writes a very good book - three actually in this case.

I adore vampire love stories and I enjoy a good time travel romp too - put the two together and you've got my attention - but I've never read a series with quite as many twists and turns and unexpected happenings as th

I’m so happy to have stumbled across this book. I immediately fell in love with the aptly named Grace, a young woman battling cancer. She has exhausted all options and has come home to a small town in Wales to die. She faces this hurdle with dignity, courage, humor, and, above all, grace.

When Grace begins to have hallucinations, she suspects her brain tumor is growing. When the same man continues to appear, Grace worries she may be losing her mind.

So far, a quick read. Enthralled is the one word I must use to describe this book. Read it in one setting and the second one, too! A young woman travels back in time several times after a recent diagnosis of brain tumor. She meets someone and falls in love, but never knows when she will, see, him, again. How disconcerting! I had to read to the end to see what happens and then had to,start the second book. I will, leave book,3 for another day. Needless to d

I was given an arc of this book by the author to review. All I can say is wow...I need way more than five stars for this book. It was by far one of the best books I have ever read. It kind of reminded me of Outlander, but with a vampire instead of a highlander. I loved this book and cannot say enough about it, I couldn't put it down. As soon as I sign off my computer I will be picking up my ereader and starting book 2!! Thank you so much for writing this book.

Think of the Time Traveler's Wife, told from the point of view of the time traveler, who travels throughout the very long life of a vampire.

Grace, our heroine, has been diagnosed with brain cancer. She's tried chemo and radiation, but her did not respond to treatment. Now she is 27 and returning to her parents home to die

Grace has found peace with her diagnosis, and has told few people outside of her family about it. She wants to live the rest of her life without pity.

Has amazed me in more ways than one. When she first sent me a message on goodreads requesting that I review her book I was honored but a bit hesitant...see it's been a long time since a vampire book has held any interest for me (other than Julie Kagawa's). I remember opening her email and reading its synopsis thinking "Oh dear God time traveling and vampires? Well this ought to be a fun filled mess". But I promised I would review so I dove in and MY GOD...I apologize Elizabeth. Y

State of Grace is the story of a young Welsh woman who is suffering from terminal cancer. The tumor in her brain has set off a series of hallucinations which has her questioning her own sanity. They are so real to her that whatever afflictions she suffers in them is felt in her waking life.

Grace's story flip flops between the drama in her hallucinations, which takes place in early Medieval Wales, and her waking reality, which takes place in the present. Grace, whose romantic life is shattered w

Wow! I am truly impressed right now. It is true, I have read my fair share of vampire novels, but never have I enjoyed one as much as I did this time around. It was so much different from the "usual" vampire story that it had me intrigued.

The story follows Grace, a twenty-seven year old dying of cancer. She begins having "visions" due to her brain tumor but really she is time-travelling into the past where she repea

I devoured this book, like a fat kid would chocolate cake! I read it in one day. I couldn’t put it down. I was intrigued. I needed to know how this was happening.

Grace is a pilot, a daughter, a friend, a lover, and a cancer patient. She has come home to her parents farm to die. She can no longer be a pilot, due to safety concerns. On a hike Pen Y Fan, which I did look up, she has a spell. She is shot back in time

This paranormal romance is an emotionally gripping and intriguing adventure through time. With only a few months left to live, 27 year old Grace returns to her home town of Brecon and suddenly finds herself catapulted nearly 1800 years in the past where she becomes involved with the wickedly handsome vampire, Roman.

This steady paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on shivering in suspense throughout the story as Grace tries to determine whether what she experiences in the past is indeed re

This is the first book in the Resurrection series. This book is an interesting spin on the supernatural. I thought the main character, Grace who is only 27 years old was going to be coming home to take care of things before the end, but boy did I get a surprise. This was like the Time Traveler's Wife meets the Vampire. Grace has a brain tumour and was only given a few months to live. She experiences extreme headaches and is suddenly transported back in time nearly 1800 years into the past Grace ...more

It's been a while since I've read such a well crafted and enjoyable book as this. I'd been warned in advance that the book would be "too girly" for me, and to be honest if I'd seen it for sale I'd have walked past it - but as the author was kind enough to give me a free copy for review I felt I should open it and see how I got on. I'm quite serious when I say the book was un-putdownable, and I was drawn into the story from the very first pages.

I wouldn't be recommending this book to my male frie

Deadly stranger is named Roman but has no way to communicate with Grace. Grace gets very little warning before the dream happens. Grace is startled to back in the same room as deadly stranger. The blurb held a good bit of promise, so I was excited when the author contacted me about reading her book. I'm a fan of paranormal romance, particularly of the vampire variety, so this book seemed to be right up my alley.

This sounds like it will be a sad book, but it is not the slightest bit sad. Grace is having quite the adventure. She is just not sure If the adventure is real or a symptom of her brain tumour.
In her normal life she zones out occasionally. When she comes back to herself along with the raging headache, she has marks and bruises. While she is in the zone she appears naked in front of a stranger. Then she is running from a mob in the woods, again naked. She also meets Roman, a vampire bard.

I really liked this book. I'm a person who needs to be drawn in early. this story did that. I have never read anything similar to it. It was such a nice change of pace.
I was impressed with the authors ability to create a split world and make each one captivating.
