Dean was looking for a quiet place to put down new roots and leave the craziness of his old celebrity life behind him. His new house, on a rocky bluff overlooking the Atlantic, seems ideal. The only other house on the road is a summer cottage and was sure to be empty except for a few weeks during the summer. Unfortunately for him, that summer rental next door came with a y ...more

If you're looking for a light read that's cute and makes you feel good, this is it. This book has just the right amount of humor and romance. Add a trio of cute redheaded kids, and this is the perfect book for a lazy afternoon.

Dean was a member of a boy band who is tired of the fame, so he moves to a small town to escape. Romance is the last thing on his mind. Shannon is his new neighbor, who also wants nothing to do with romance. Of course, they fall in love.

Dean and Shannon are complete opposi

I started this book last night and could not stop. It is a true love story, with two people overcoming the walls they have built up around their hearts and heads to ward off any more hurt in their worlds. This book brings about their love so wonderful and beautifully slow that your heart just melts along with them. Dean cannot help but become part of this perfect little family. Great read!

This is more of a 3.5 star read, that I'm feeling generous enough to round to a 4 star rating. The story was cute enough, but bogged down by the hero and heroine's issues.

I liked Dean well enough, and he was a bit unique among musician heroes, but I think he took the whole hiding his other identity a bit too far. It really hampered his relationship with Shannon, and led him to do some drastic things to get her back.

Shannon was entirely too protective of her children! Then, she goes and flies in

In Five of Hearts by Jennifer DeCuir, Dean needs a quiet place, somewhere where he won’t be immediately recognized and he will be able to get away from all the craziness of his old life as a celebrity. Even though he is no longer singing, the fact that he was once the lead singer of a famous boy band called Five of Hearts and that he has lots of money makes him a prime target for gold diggers out for fast cash.

I liked the 5 of <3. It was an easy read. Shannon is a single mom of triplets and very protective. Her spunk for life has been lost ever since she flipped her mom mood on and she is too devoted to her kids that she put her desires and aspirations away. Then a irrefutably hot single guy moves into the house next door. But there's something odd about him...
Dean is hiding from the spot lights of stardom, and yet another false paternity suit. Only this time, he doesn't want to cave in and take th

4.5 stars for this lovely summer read. I don't normally pick up category romance, because I find the standard two points of view to be boring. However, Five of Hearts was fast-paced and lively - no boredom here! Ms. DeCuir wrote masterfully, pulling me into Scallop Shores (I want to visit!) and the lives of Dean, Shannon, and her secondary characters. The psychological struggles of her hero and heroine were realistically portrayed and created real reader empathy for their plights. Her secondary ...more

Dean moved into a house on the bluff in Maine. He had been a member of the boy band Five of Hearts but they had broken up after making a lot of money. It had been fun but Dean was tired of this now and wanted a different life. Some girl whom he had never seen had slapped a paternity suit on him and he had decided not to pay. The band members got about two a year and their manager always encouraged them to settle out of court rather than bring negative publicity. Dean decided to wait for the DNA. ...more

Dean moves next door to Shannon and her triplets. Dean is trying to hide from his boy band past and Shannon is trying to survive. These two become friends and it grows into more. Dean is always around to help with the triplets. Just when you think something might happen with these two their pasts come back to haunt them. Not talking to each other and trying to decide what the is thinking is not working for these two. It takes a very panicky situation to get these two to talk. I really enjoyed th ...more
