I’m no expert, but I began reading this book the day my adoption was approved and it has most of what I need. The first 54 pages are really to help readers decide if a lab is a good fit for their home, then what kind of lab they should adopt, and so these did not apply to me. The rest is a lot of, I presume, good advice on how to care for your dog as a puppy, adolescent, and adult dog, even onto death. The book fails to address two minor behavioral issues that my dog manifests, but everything else is here and works. I have not compared this to other books on living with a lab so I do not claim this is the best book on the subject, but I have found it helpful and I recommend it.

It's easily read and useful, every time we grab it and take a chapter, we get something new, even there are lots of knowledge we knew before. It's especially useful for ones who just began having a Lab.

We read this all the time. We would suggest additional information on defining "normal" behaviors, vet etiquette, and tips for not humanizing your pet. :-)

Knew most of what was in here. It is pretty comprehensive, but for a new owner, not one with experience. I did pick up a few good "reminders".

Great for a first time dog owner. Laid out like a manual with many headers, subheaders, visuals, etc, which makes it easy to read and reference.
