Just gonna go ahead and get this out of the way... Fractured Suns does not suffer from second book syndrome... it was AMAZING!!!! The Broken Skies Series is a true hidden gem! This is a series that is WAY under-hyped! Theresa Kay makes writing look easy. Fractured Suns is the second book in the Broken Skies Series and again doesn't disappoint. When Theresa contacted us again to review her second novel I have "give me hands" flying all over the place! I knew I needed it but had no clue how much I ...more

"In the face of everything we’ve been through, both together and separately, nothing matters right now but the fact that, for this moment, we are both breathing and not alone."

I don't even know where to begin. I guess by thanking the book gods first because Fractured Suns isn't a product of Second Book Syndrome. Fractured Suns is not a filler so if you loved the first book, Broken Skies, and you're afraid that the sequel will disappoint you.... please banish that thought rig

Oh you guys.   This book.  This amazing book.  I tear up even thinking about this story, because Fractured Suns was breathtaking.  It quickly pulled me back into the story and I found myself immersed in a world and surrounded by characters that I love.  And be prepared, because my emotions felt as though they were being pulled all over the place.  Happy and sad tears streaked down my face while I spent a good portion of the

**UPDATE 8/8/14**

I've been a very busy girl lately and Fractured Suns is nearly complete. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that Fractured Suns won't be out this September(please don't throw things at me :) It'll be late for a *very* good reason. You see, about a month ago THIS happened.

I know so many of you are excited to find out what happens next and I'm so grateful for all your support and enthusiasm. I'll still be posting teaser
I recieved this book because I begged for it! Okay, maybe not begged, but I did volunteer to review for honesty. This is the second book in the series and can be catorgorized as dystopian/sci-fi-ish. This story was fast paced. I couldn't put it down. I literally stayed up till about one in the morning finishing it.

It was fecking amazeballs! The growth of the characteres in this book was many layered and detailed. I found the pacing faster than BS. The plot was more intricate and the romance had

Here's my review for the first book Broken Skies.

March 2015: The Broken Skies series is a hidden gem and it's definitely worth checking out!

I enjoyed the first book more than I thought I would and now I anticipate the author will top it off with an incredible sequel.

OMG EPIC!!!!!!!!! Yes yes yes, I feel your jealousy and I understand... I was honoured to be a beta reader for this book. And thankfully this time I had people to talk to about it so I didn't have to go insane waiting for release!

OK, so back to the important stuff -- I've actually just finished my second read through of this gem, and let me tell you it's even better a second time through. It's like one of those movies that is awesome the first time through, but on each viewing you start noticing

This eARC was provided to me by the author herself in exchange for an honest review.

Fractured Suns picks up where Broken Skies left off and follows Jax as she deals with the consequences of the last book while still trying to survive.

I will say this was a good sequel, was it better than its predecessor? No not really. What was really different about this book was the dynamics of the characters. Jax was interesting because her knee jerk reactions are now back in action and causes so

Wow! You did it again, Theresa Kay!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat and constantly wanting more! With way more twists and turns than the first, this book left me speechless and a little emotional at times!

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, so I'm just going to say that this is the best sequel I've read in a long time!!

Thank you Theresa Kay for the opportunity to read and review this book!! Can't wait til the third one comes out!!

Fractured Suns picks up pretty close to where Broken Skies left off. Jax, her brother, Flint, Peter, and Jastren are all holed up in Peter's cabin out in the woods. Jace is still pretty busted up, but he is doing what he can to recover. His relationship Flint, and well everyone, is strained because of the mental stress they have all been under. Jax is still very broken from what Lir did to her, but she is holding herself together

You know how some sequels fall victim to that Book 2 Syndrome where nothing overly exciting happens but it's the meat of the story line and is essential to the series as a whole? Yeah, that didn't happen with this book. I think I may have loved this one more than Broken Skies. You can find my review of Broken Skies here.

OMG I just died and went to book heaven. Woot Woot I got an arc (after stalking the author for a long time.)

Where to start? I look like crap again, man I could not put this book down.

Normally I tend to get disappointed reading sequels but nope not Broken Skies I loved it as much as the first book.

Jax is the perfect female heroine she strong and loyal she doesn’t shy away from danger for the ones she loves.

Lir sigh………he’s still my favorite alien book boyfriend.

Firstly WOW. This book went beyond exceeding my expectations, it just blew my mind. I loved Broken Skies and Fractured Suns was such a perfect sequel I really can't get over how much I loved it. I wanna reread it like right now haha. Just a warning this review may have some Broken Skies spoilers but is spoiler free for Fractured Suns!

The first thing I want to address is that WE GOT LIR'S POV YESSSSS. Although Lir's POV wasn't as action packed as Jax's I still loved it equally because you got to

I was JUST getting over a slump but Theresa made sure that I was back in one with her story.

This was a fantastic follow-up to Broken Skies, and a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Jax and Lir have been separated and their connection is broken at the start of this novel. Jax is confused over her feelings for him and feels totally betrayed. But she can't get him out of her head. When Rym appears, requesting to take her to him, she goes without question. When she uncovers the truth, she feels bad for ever doubting him. Everything he has done has been done to protect her.

Wow, just wow. Wow! I had been looking forward to reading Fractured Suns since finishing Broken Skies back in April. I was thrilled to receive an ARC so that I could read it early.

I had really high hopes for this book based off of where Broken Skies ended.

I was NOT disappointed.

This book takes place shortly after the events of the last book. Jax is still reeling from Lir's possible betrayal and coming into terms with her new abilities. With foreboding news, Jax must travel back to the town she intended to never go back to. At the same time, Lir is back in the city, being tortured by his uncle. But neither know who to trust and secrets will come to light, as well as the start of possible war.

Fractured Suns is the second book in the Broken Skies Series. It is a sci-fi dystopian romantic series told from the POV of Jax and Lir. I was so excited to hear Lir’s POV. I love my green and gold alien boy!

I have been anxiously been awaiting this book. Broken Skies left me heartbroken as Jax was. This book DID deliver. The story picks up about a few weeks after Broken Skies ended. Jax has been heartbroken over t

First of all, a big thank you to Theresa Kay for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fractured Suns picks up not long after Broken Skies ended. What I love about this book series the most is the relationship between Jax and Lir and also between Jax and Jace. In this second book, Jax is still the fiery redhead we all know and love, and Lir is still the same charming and swoon-worthy guy. Because of the events in the first book, we sadly don't get to see the power couple together a

The sequel to Broken Skies will leave readers breathless and in anticipation for Shattered Stars the moment they finish reading. So many things happen to each character within the pages of Fractured Suns.

The long wait for this sequel was worth every second and more! This sequel does NOT disappoint in any way. I never expected it to take me where it did.

*3.5 stars* I was sent this by the author for review (thank you so much!) but as always this review is my honest opinion :-)

I can't decide if I should round down or up for this one, but I usually always round down just for fairness so I decided to stick to tradition! So, even though I think I liked the first book better, this one was still really enjoyable, I just think it suffered a little bit from "second book syndrome" and having some filler moments. I was so excited to start reading this book. I was completely obsessed with the first book in this series, Broken Skies , and I raved about the book to everyone. When I got my hands on this book, I dove right into it. I was happy that this book started right where the first book left off, which I was very thankful for.

I'll be honest and tell you that Sci-fi was never my thing until I read her writing - Theresa is the one that changed my mind about all things aliens; or might I say all things Lir! This book was astounding. It has the perfect pacing, creative and imaginative ideas, and allows the reader to delve deeper into the characters they love.
