It took me 40 days and 40 nights but I’ve finally finished! 😅 Whew 👏🏽 what 👏🏽a 👏🏽ride! I honestly don’t know how I’m going to feel after I finish the final book in the series 😪🤧! On the one hand I know it’s time but I’m also going to be sad to see them go!
It was honestly the consistency for me because it’s not easy to keep the same energy if not better when writing a series and doing so over the course of several months/ years. Everyone still felt so familiar to me and like better versions of themselves and I loved it.
Book 4 primarily focused on Mala, Link, Faxx and Cent. We were able to deep dive into the past of these women and get a better understanding of why they made certain decisions that led them on various paths. We learned the depths of Mala and Charles relationship as well as what Cent had to endure during her time with Roman. 😓
These men!!! I need me one! The way they were so ruthlessly unhinged with everyone yet so soft, possessive and obsessive over these women touched me straight behind the ribs because if this ain’t how my 🥷 coming behind me then what purpose are you serving!

My only gripe with book 4 was that the details and information in the story felt overwhelming at times. There was A LOT happening and that coupled with soooo many characters had me doing more research on the who what when where whys and how’s instead of enjoying the series like the previous books. If I can give one recommendation it would be to read the series once it’s complete because the gaps in release had me forgetting stuff and ain’t nobody got time to be rereading ish with a TBR as bananas as mines.
I don’t really want to go into full details because you really have to journey through this series to fully understand but just know if you enjoy fkn sucking and murder this is the series for you!

I have to really give E. Bowser her flowers. The way you’ve kept these characters consistently unhinged throughout the last 4 books is amazing. There are so many moving pieces, twists, and turns my head was spinning. We tied up some very important loose ends in this book but the drama did not stop coming 😩 there were so many intense scenes..the funeral..the wedding!
Behind the Curtain was…jaw dropping. I wasn’t surprised but I was..& I liked it? Whew.
I also laughed so much. Link wasn’t playing about Cece with Travis. I loved how everybody showed up at the Rec looking for the “grown man”. Perhaps they should have listened to him…what an ending! I’m beyond ready for the finale!! If we thought they were unhinged before…look out!

She did it AGAIN!!! These people are so unhinged and I absolutely love it!! I can't get enough of this series. I am going to be so sad when it ends! I am ready for book 5 because I already know they gonna paint the rest of Union City RED!! lmao.

Whew, okay! There was a whole lot going on in this book. I’m not gon hold you, I’m glad so many bodies got dropped because I was starting to get confused keeping up with all of the different characters. 😅
I was LIVING for the bad b***h side of Mala we got to see in this one. She’s just as unhinged and cutthroat as the guys. 😭

OMG
There are no words to express how good this series is! The storyline, how well these books are written had me slowing down because I didn't want it to end. This could be a movie, A cross between 50 Shades of Gray and Power! It is so believe able and outside of other stories that I feel like I need to find another book along these lines. I could visualize the characters, the scenes and even the cologne, you will NOT be disappointed! I'm sad just knowing I have nothing of this quality to read now.... Come on book 5!!!!

She tried to kill me
My dear E. Bowser made a real deal attempt on my life!! I mean what else would you call it with this level of drama, angst, and Chapter 13?!? This is one of those books that by this point in the series I don’t even want to read the book, one cause I know the stress level has gone up, two it means we are that much closer to the end, and three the major book hangover I knew was coming!!! The pacing of the book was on par with the other high octane followed but high heat with moments of life sprinkled in. I’m sure I’m not the only one who asked for it but in my head chapter 13 was for me, and I have the injury to prove it!! Anyway this is by far one of my favorite series ever, I loved the moments of tenderness and I especially loved the increase in comedic relief in this one! Make me laugh and it’s five stars everytime. Getting more time and dialogue with Oz and Henny was the icing on the cake. At the heart of it, this is still a series about intelligent black men who love and fiercely protect the black women they love and are committed to encouraging them to be their best selves- mentally, emotionally, physically, sexually, spiritually and I think that is the core reason that as much of a Faxx groupie that I am I legitimately love every single U.C.K. man. It’s a real gift to be able to write a series where every main and side “good” guy is book boyfriend material. Now excuse me while I go try to figure out what to do with my life after THAT FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!!!

UCK DID NOT COME TO PLAY!
Ebony Bowser is a literary genius of fiction. Book 4 is better than any drama you could EVER watch. It has all of the psycho, gangsta, BDE and just enough light hearted moments I needed. These characters feel like family at this point. This series is EVERYTHING I like it’s steamy,action packed filled with suspense and a thriller, with a dash of comedic innuendos all in one and wrapped up in an erotic bow. ☺️ I LOVE all of the colorful characters of POTS, even the Ops you love to hate are beautifully written into the tapestry. They are like no characters you will EVER meet and layered with so many unexpected twists and turns. This installation in particular brought all the feelings of sweet vindication. The people who needed to feel the terror of UCK certainly did! That pleased me to no end because that’s why I came. Some people watch horrific crime dramas, me I am a Product of the Streets of Union City and I LOVE IT HERE! If you are questioning if you should read it DON’T escape into the unhinged town of Union City. While there you may hear a of a MYTH that all the ladies fall for. All I can say is beware if you go Behind the Curtain at Myth dress appropriately it’s more than you are ready for. 😂

Just when I thought everything was going good 🤦🏽♀️ I need a cigarette and I dont even smoke !! Cause why they took my Cece 🥺 I think this was my favorite book out the series. I hope book 5 is spicer cause that scene at Myth : Behind the curtain will definitely live rent free in my head 🥵 . i also hope to see more babies and weddings in the next book.

can’t get enough
I usually don’t too much care for books that go past 3 books, but this one….i don’t ever want it to stop. It doesn’t feel drawn out or forced. It’s a true story and you feel like you are watching their lives progress. Phenomenal job. Absolutely love it and can’t wait fir book 5

I’m so glad I’m done with this book, I could not take it. The plot is 5 ⭐️ but when I tell you that the spice had my head spinning. I’m not saying it’s bad, but it’s a lot and it’s not something I can read casually. The chapters are also super long and some of them were only spice with no plot. By the time we got back to the story I was over it. And some chapter POV’s idc about!! I don’t need a full chapter for Charles, Rodney or Roman even if it is short. And why would the plot twist of the book be on the last 2 pages? Idk yall this series has been the craziest I’ve ever read and at what cost? 🥲

Talk about bringing the pieces together. You wouldn't have told me in book 1 that this was how the story was going yo play out. E. Bowser is a master at her craft.
Ebony is really unpredictable in her story telling and is able to take readers on an unexpected rollercoaster ride. Though book 4 focused on Link and Mala's relationship we also got to see the others as well as were introduced to a few new people.
With the introduction of AOK members and the knowledge of Kreed upcoming release and being the head of this faction could she be setting us up for a spinoff in the near future?

OMG!
This book had me invested from the very first page, but that ending had me pulling my hair out. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. E. Bowser brought the fire with this well written, exciting book that flowed well and definitely kept my attention. These characters were crazy, exciting and hilarious. Great character development. Things are really getting ready to get fired up now.

This series gets more and more intense with each book I swear. This book had me hollering. And that Myth scene baby! I couldn’t put this book down. I was right about my theory. I so can’t wait for the finale. She was dead wrong for that ending though sensational job!
This series gets more and more intense with each book I swear. This book had me hollering. And that Myth scene baby! I couldn’t put this book down. I was right about my theory. I so can’t wait for the finale. She was dead wrong for that ending though sensational job!

The best way to start year
It's one of thee best books in the series not only does ties up loose ends the previous books, but you get more new characters that feed into possibly what book five will focus on. I read this book too fast and it's 600 + pages...that how engrossed I was in the story. I wish I could give the book tens stars instead of five stars.

I’ve never read a book with characters, spice, plot & subplots so masterfully woven together!! Ebony Bowser had to have worked overtime to create such a spectacular story!! I can’t wait to re-read this all again when book 5 releases!

oh my heavens, I am finally done reading this book! this book took entirely too much of my time. and with it being the 4th out of 5 books, I will definitely be taking a break before I decide to read the 5th book. I am going to have to sadly rate this low. The story line is just way too slow for me. There is too much redundant dialogue for each character. I can't tell you how many times I rolled my eyes with Cent and her dialogue, each chapter she was given.
I wanted more of Mala and Link. But for whatever reason, I was still getting the dumb dumbs of the group, mainly Cent and Faxx. Cent is just not smart. She falls into the same category of Tali and Dea, but thankfully they weren't talked about as much in this book. Cent just - idk. The very thing she damn near endured under Roman, was basically the same thing happening under Faxx. I mean, she had a little bit more freedom, but the controlling behavior of Faxx was unmatched. The choker? Being chained/handcuffed to the bed? Like c'mon now Faxx, please relax a bit. How is that even attractive to Cent? WHY is it attractive or justified? His obsession/possessive was way too toxic for my liking. Their sex scenes were so cringe! Their kinks, honestly everything about him and Cent made me roll my eyes. But let's also talk about the scene at MYTH.... WEIRD! just plain weird and cringe. I truly felt like the whole scene was inappropriate and gross. Y'all really just one big ol couple at this point. Also, the whole legal guardian thing with his daughter, Cece? That whole thing does not make sense. I also think they should take this Travis boyfriend situation more serious as well. IDK yall, i really thought this series would get better and it didn't.

There are things that I enjoyed about the book overall it’s was a solid 3.5 for me. The story was engaging albeit confusing at times and characters were easy to get attached. I do think the characterization of children given the subject matter is weird/gross and I will die on the hill that there are too many characters but I pushed through the rating wasn’t effected by this so much as the repetition was. Mi Amour…Papi we’re used endlessly and hundreds of times…hell Bissh was used 9 times on one page. Also I think there were some transitional confusions I had but overall it was a good time. I know there is another book out already that rounds out the series but I kind of don’t care…if you do more power to you I’m talking about me. I think with a book over 600 pages (even with the chapter that was duplicated) everything could have been resolved now there’s this extra Cartel layer and I’m honestly just like eh. But again over all I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed that a little too much. So I know that we know how Henny, Oz, Faxx, Link, Sanchez, and their ladies get down. You had to top it with the shenanigans of Link's parents. I just about hollered. My favorite FMC is Crescent! Jesus Jerome Christ! Cent brought the comedic relief. Faxx and them damn mangos. I'm going to try and make that mango cheesecake. I need more info on Ian and Shantel. I'm sure we will get it in book 5. I just ordered book 4 for my #collection. Is the AOC getting their own series? Do you teach a class on how to write? Just as everyone is speechless about…. The infamous chapter 13!!!!!!!!
All I have to say is “ why couldn’t it have been me??” I’m so jealous. Henny, Oz, Link, FAXX, Cent and Tali.
Everyone shared the Cummings of each their down there throats but clearly boundaries were still present.
And I cannot wait until those boundaries are non existent.
I was anxiously airing for this scene to come.
This book ended a lot of the story while adding equal amounts to come.
It never leaves you dry - no pun intended 😂-
Always has you at the edge of your seat.
I’m looking forward to this new character (Travis) he seems interesting and the further development of CeCe , I love that kid.
I cannot say this enoughTHIS SERIES IS FANTASTIC and should be at the top of the charts.
