Public Speaking: Finding Your Voice

Rate this book
Helps students become better speakers in their classrooms, workplaces, and communities
This top-selling, comprehensive introductory public speaking title highlights and develops the theme of “Finding Your Voice.” It helps students develop as speakers and as people, as they gain presentation skills and confidence, discover causes that interest and engage them, and give them a sense of purpose. This theme reinforces the book’s primary goal of helping students to become better communicators in their classrooms, workplaces and communities. MyCommunicationLab is an integral part of the Osborn/Osborn/Osborn/Turner program. MediaShare allows students to post speeches and share them with classmates and instructors. Interactive videos provide students with the opportunity to watch and evaluate sample speeches. Online self-assessments and pre- and post-tests help students assess their comfort level with public speaking and their knowledge of the material. Before you purchase, check with your instructor or review your course syllabus to ensure that you select the correct ISBN . Several versions of Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products exist for each title, including customized versions for individual schools, and registrations are not transferable. In addition, you may need a CourseID , provided by your instructor, to register for and use Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products. Packages Access codes for Pearson's MyLab & Mastering products may not be included when purchasing or renting from companies other than Pearson; check with the seller before completing your purchase. Used or rental books If you rent or purchase a used book with an access code, the access code may have been redeemed previously and you may have to purchase a new access code. Access codes Access codes that are purchased from sellers other than Pearson carry a higher risk of being either the wrong ISBN or a previously redeemed code. Check with the seller prior to purchase. --

This was a textbook for my public speaking class. It's weird to read how to speak in public but it had some great speech examples.

Simply useless. A big part of the book are the captions and the stock images. The rest is some new age, spiritualist junk and not much about speaking.
