I have heard a lot of buzz about the benefits of signing with your baby, so after researching different books on learning to sign I decided on this one. I liked that it uses ASL and not made-up signs like other books on the market.
The book explains why signing is beneficial and how to start integrating signing into your everyday life to make it fun for both you and your child not like a school lesson. The book can get a little dry, but overall I found it to be a helpful read. All of the signs at the end of the book are great, too. The DVD is a good reference, but a little cheesy.
I highly recommend this great kit! With the help of this kit our son learned over 35 words and was able to tell us when he was hungry, tired, wanted or to play... all at 1 yr old! I figure that being able to communicate his wants and needs to early helped him skip the "terrible" part of the "twos" :-D
I had been taking sign classes with baby prior to messing around with this course. It was a bit too dry to keep me reading thoroughly, but some of the acessories were nice to help me learn a few signs.
