Kim has had dreams of a man who she knows in her soul is something important to her, but in her dreams she never sees his face. When she meets newest client Eric Blackwell she feels an instant attraction but he is a client and that is a line she cannot cross.
Black panther shifter Erik has been waiting for twenty-seven years for his mate and now she is in front of him. If he wasn't dealing with the mess his brother has dragged him into, he would be spending his time courting her. Will Kim accept the mating or will she run, after he tells her what he is.
Very good shifter story. Erik was intense and never wavers from his dedication to Kim. Looking forward to find out what happens next.

Just finished popping my Felicity Heaton cherry...and I liked it!
In heat was a wickedly seductive story. It started with dreams. You know the type - sexy, naughty, the ones that have you rubbing your thighs together when you wake up.
Erik is a shifter and has been having these delicious dreams about Kim (his mate) for other 20 years. Talk about blue balls. And now that Kim has come "into heat" she has started having them too.
She dreams of a man who can set her alight with a single touch, over and over again. So you can imagine her surprise when he walks into her work one day.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. The connection between Kim and Erik was strong, the sex extremely passionate and I had no trouble believing they were meant to be together.
I was actually surprised that it wasn't as hot as I expected. Don't get me wrong - it was hot but there was a great deal of story in there. The story wasn't determined by the sex, it was just a damn good bonus.
Can't wait to read the next one in this series.

Loved this book from the first page until the last. It really is a love story & the slow dance on their first date gave me butterflies in my stomach.

On a more personnel note. After reading American authors for the past 3 months, it was also nice to hear words like knickers instead of panties & the fact that they were stuck in for hours in traffic on the M42 (what romantic break would be whole without it).

Wow!!! I read this in one sitting and I tell you - Authors wander why we fall in love with fictional characters, they put them forth so well leaving us pining for our real live smexy men. To my avail it’s just a dream :O) Erik had me hot under the collar and wandering if the heat wave had moved to my bedroom ;)
Read the blurb to the story it will give you a good indication of the storyline.
I must say I was drawn into this story from within the first chapter, enthralled - and intrigued... Erik was sexy as sin on first encounter with Kim and the chemistry these two shared, in life and in dreams was smoking.. **
If I had dreams like that I’m sure I would certainly be on fire **

Erik came across at first rich and gorgeous - a ladies man, Kim awe struck by him.. ** I tell you I had to wander why she took so long ** lol... She was clumsy - shy and easily embarrassed but by the end of this story she was showing Erik a thing or two. We find out more about Erik as the story progresses, him not being the ladies’ man we originally thought and his vow of celibacy to wait for his mate was sweet and even sexy!! Twenty seven years of wanting - and I tell you he certainly showed Kim how much he wanted her ** swoon ** blushes
Erik made her feel beautiful, special and would do anything to make her happy, this gave Kim the courage to be with him in every which way she wanted and they both where in their dreams.
The romance and passion was electrifying - I’m sure my reader was wafting with steam from the pace I read this in... Whilst reading, I even stopped mid-way, to share peanut butter on toast with Erik and Kim... now talk bout being influenced by a read lol.
I cant complain about a thing with this story, the chapters all ran smoothly, I loved all the characters put forth even the standoffish brother - a storyline that will leave you wanting more and dialogue that flowed smoothly. Yes it contains sex - but hey its an erotic read .. What more could you want ** grins ** But saying that it blends in well with the story put forth.
Overall, this storyline was definitely Captivating - sexy, and contains sex scenes that will not only have you hot under the bed sheets, but your heart will be racing and blood pumping... Erotic would be one word Id describes it as ;) wink...... If you like your shape shifters sexy - you’re reads hot - and your toes bunching and eyelashes curling then this read is for you! It will leave you starry eyed and wanting - ** Ill say no more ** lol.
Felicity has left room for book two to let us know more about the mating - and I’m sure we will find out more into Erik and Kim’s future!

In Heat is hot in every aspect. London is having a heatwave, Kim and Erik are having very hot dreams about each other, even though they've never met. Only one of them knows what it all means.
It isn't until one day Erik, a Lycan that turns into a panther, walks into Kim's office and realises that he has found his human mate that he has been dreaming about for the past twenty seven years and does not know how to approach her with the fear of losing her forever. Kim has no idea what Erik is but has had the same dreams as Erik and has seen parts of him shift. Kim struggles with deciphering the difference between reality and her dreams and if it is possible for them to be the same.
This book is about the battle between ownership, family betrayal, love and the fear of loss.
Felicity Heaton has written this book really well, the intensity of Kim and Erik's passion was really hot and I found I couldn't put the book down, as Erik faces the dilemmas of telling Kim about his true self and what they mean to each other. Heaton also added a sense of suspense to the story as time was running out for making a decision and the mating to be complete.
In Heat was a joy to read, this book is sizzling in every sense of the word and I am definitely going on to the next next book to see what happens next.

I enjoyed reading this. It introduced the spicy content early, starting off slow and building on it each time it came back to the spicy-ness. Enjoyed the plot as well. Felt it was a little rushed, but overall it was a good read

Pretty good
It was overall a pretty good book. I felt like there wasn't a whole lot of story aside from the relationship. Even though it was written in 3rd person the perspective changed between the 2 characters quite often, sometimes from one paragraph to the other.

Loved it!
This was a great read! It had steamy, passionate, love scenes. The story line moved along seamlessly. I can’t wait to read her next book!

In heat is one of those great easy read romance novels that I finished in an afternoon. I love the fact that Heaton took the typical shapeshifter mating and made it her own. First her shapeshifters or Lycans, they're called both, are immortal. They age differently than humans, at a slower rate. Think dog years in reverse, where thirty four "Lycan years" is around fifty "human years." Once their body matures, the aging process stops. They do not have to change with a full moon and you're either born a Lycan or under very specific conditions can be bitten and turned into one. Heaton's Lycans can also mate with Lycans that are a different animal. Example: Erik's mother was a black panther and his father was a puma. Erik carries the black panther and puma gene, but because the dominant gene in Erik is black panther he can only shift into a black panther. The opposite is true for Erik's brother who can only shift into a puma. It was a brilliant scientific take on how two different breeds of shapeshifters can mate.
Erik has been dreaming of Kim for 27 years. The dreams were infrequent at first and two years ago he started having them every night. Kim started dreaming about Erik a year ago when she went into heat. No it's not the same kind of heat that dog's go into. Other Lycans will be able to tell she's in heat, only her soul mate, Erik, will feel an intense attraction towards her. Kim being in heat is basically her bodies way of saying over here Mr. Dream Man Candy, I want you as much as you want me. The only way for Kim and Erik to complete their mating is for Kim to become a Lycan. The only time that Erik can change her is while she's in heat.
I love the dreams between Erik and Kim. For most of the book, it's the only time that Kim fully embraces her sexuality. Nothing's rushed, no one's drunk and there is no should I or shouldn't I. My favorite reason is that it's usually the only time Erik purrs.
I'm usually a little leery around self published books. I'm not saying that they're all poorly written with huge grammatical errors, there not. There are a huge amount that do, sometimes it's really hard to find a good one. That was not a problem with Felicity Heaton, I struck gold. While there were a couple errors, they were barely noticeable. They did not interfere with reading the book at all. My only complaint is that I wish there was a little more dialogue in In Heat. I'm not saying that the entire book is just sex, it's not. Heaton found that perfect balance between sex and story. There just seems to be a lot of inner thoughts. For example:
Not all of the inner thoughts are that...yummy. Hey, I figure if I'm going to give an example from a book that will make your blood boil, it might as well be one that's not from a sex scene and yet still manages to make you a little warm.
As much as I enjoyed reading In Heat, I just could not give it 4 Moons. It was a fun read, but probably not a reread. That automatically takes In Heat out of the 4 Moons category. It's a harsh system, but it's my system.

Have to love a book that starts off good and steamy! WAM! The build was a bit slow on Kim and Erik's actual relationship, but effective, sensual and exciting just the same.
A woman (Kim) who feels like a plain Jane has been having erotic dreams about one particular male for some time. She feels it’s an impossibility to get someone so attractive to like her (even though she’s yet to see his face). But behold! Once she meets her dream guy she sees the interest in his eyes and gets all flustered from the attention. Especially since she met him on the job. Relationships with clients are forbidden in the workplace. But it’s hard to resist even the thought of it with someone as yummy as Erik Blackwell.
Erik has had dreams about this beautiful woman for over 20 years. He knows she’s his mate. But there is only so much he can share with her because he’s scared she'll run away and he'll lose his one and only chance at claiming his mate. Trying to progress with many secrets becomes an impossibility. Now he just has to build the courage to let her know that he’s a shape shifter. A black panther to be exact and that she is indeed his mate.
It’s so hard for them to resist the pull they have toward one another. Kim is confused as to what and why these feelings and the pull is so irresistible. Erik is completely irresistible to her. Little things bring out so much. Like in her dreams, he seems to know exactly what to do and say. Will they be able to become true mates before her heat is over? There are quite a few obstacles that get in the way or their relationship and its progress. Some that leave you cursing like a sailor. But regardless, if you are a lover of paranormal (especially hot shifters) you will love this book ;)

But is different and I liked the style of it. We are more in the heads of the characters and got the full effect of what they were really thinking instead of just what was being said.

Kim has been having so good dreams. Over this past year her dreams have been getting more intense. Waking up into the real world, she is lonely and unfulfilled. She is all ways thinking of her naughty nightly visits. Kim really just thinks it is her body saying she needs a boyfriend. When she goes to work and meets her demanded boss who is pretends they didn't go to school together and new each other all through school. They are both rushed into a meeting. On the way Kim drops all the paperwork all over the floor. Embarrassed and upset, she starts to pick up the papers. When someone comes up behind her and offers to help, she wants nothing to do with anyone. When she turns and see it is not her boss and that it is the most handsome man she has ever known, she forgets how to talk. She has never seen her dream mans face but she knows he is it. How can that be true? It is just a dream. Eric is a millionaire who is at the firm to get some help with a contract. He sees Kim and knows she is his mate. He also knows she is in heat. How can he be this close to her and not touch her? How can he tell her that he is a shifter without chasing her away? What is my brother doing with this contract? Eric knows he is up to something.
An erotic romance between a human women and a shape shifter. This is a sweet love story. A women who just wants to be loved & cherished and a man who just wants a family & a mate. With the brother and paranormal secrets standing in the way. This is a good easy read, not too deep and not a complicated story line. It has some fighting action and really good sex scenes. You really are rooting for Eric and Kim. The author also does a good job and hiding the brothers true intentions. Good read.

An erotic romance between a human women and a shape shifter. This is a sweet love story. A women who just wants to be loved & cherished and a man who just wants a family & a mate. With the brother and paranormal secrets standing in the way. This is a good easy read, not too deep and not a complicated story line. It has some fighting action and really good sex scenes. You really are rooting for Eric and Kim. The author also does a good job and hiding the brothers true intentions. Good read.

This was a hot read that I devoured in no time. Kim has been having steamy dreams featuring a faceless man who can drive her senseless with his wicked hands. Going in to work, she finally puts a face to the man when she meets the companies new client, Erik Blackwell.
This is a shorter novel that is heavy on the erotic and short on plot. Not in a bad way though... The plot is worked in well with all the sexy times and I really enjoyed the character developments. Kim has doubts with why Erik would be attracted to her. Another female lead with major self doubt. Erik is gorgeous but very gentle with how he would like to handle getting to know Kim. He knows why the dreams are taking place and need to come clean with her about his shifter abilities. Sure, it moves fast but for shifter romances where destined mates are involved, I just go with the flow...
The sex scenes are really hot *fans self* and well written. The plot in itself is good and leaves it open for book 2, Mating Call. Recommended for anyone looking to read very hot sex with just enough plot to get you by.

OMG! This book is soooo steamy! I love that Felicity hasn't stuck to the normal shifter mating. I love how she has created a different kind. A normal shifter mating is scenting you mate, wooing her, making love to her while biting into her shoulder thus marking her as yours. That is how it's meant to be but Felicity has changed the rules a little. Erik and Kim have been dreaming of each other for years, hot steamy dreams, and that is the only way to know that you have a mate. The hard part is finding him or her and keeping them. I love it when authors go outside of the Paranormal Norm box. I loved the sex scene in the book because I want to make Erik purr! I had to shield my kindle when I was reading the sex scenes on the bus lol!! I thought the family feud between the Blackwell brothers was really good, I really like it when you have a good brother and bad brother. It reminds me of Cinderella and her evil step-sisters but in this case it would be CinderErik and his evil step puma brother lol This novel is 100% awesome and I recommend it to any Shifter fans!

In Heat Book #1 and Mate Calling Book #2 No Really Diggin these
I absolutely love Felicity Heaton’s Her Angel Romance Series so when I saw these two books I wanted to give them a try.
The two Main Characters of these books are Eric Blackwell and Kim. In Book #1 In Heat basically Kim has been dreaming of a mysterious man and when he shows up at the law firm she works at she realizes it’s her client Eric Blackwell. From here it’s all downhill. Eric has been dream sharing with Kim for years. She is his destined Mate. In Book #1 they miss the opportunity to Mate and have to wait until she goes into Heat again.
Book #2 Mate Calling again is all Eric and Kim with sex, dream sharing, again sex then dream sharing but with a little twist another party is involved in the dream sharing. She very graphic with the sex scenes but there was really no plot or story line. I like a good sex scene but there has to be some story line there. I give these 2* for the great graphic images but I wasn’t digging these books.

Kim ha comenzado a tener sueños bastante calientes con un hombre. Uno al que no ha visto nunca el rostro. Y un día, cuando llega al despacho de abogados donde trabaja lo conoce, Erik, que parece ser el hombre de sus fantasías y también su próximo cliente.
Ella, como abogada que es, le esta ayudando a Erik Blackwell a firmar un contrato con su hermano Alistair Blackwell, pero ese contrato es diferente a los contratos que normalmente ve a diario...
En todo el libro la tensión sexual es más que palpable. Y esos sueños tan hot... Dios mío! XD
Me hubiera gustado leer más sobre los cambiaformas (En el segundo libro parece si habrá más). Y el final (donde pasa la acción) no me gusto tanto... le falto algo. :/ Aún así es un buen libro para pasar el rato. Recomiendo una ducha fría después de leerlo, XD

LOVED IT!!!
Almost a 5 star for me. This is the first time I'm reading a work of Felicity Heaton and I'm in love.
The first half was a bit dragging. h was a doormat,daydreamer and blushes for everything,anything and nothing. She rarely talks.I absolutely hate it when ppl talk in their heads!!

*insert eye-roll here* We are reading about an almost-thirty woman here.
Story picked up from the second half, our h is suddenly a hot little vixen tada! and I loved each and every moment from then. There wasn't too much drama. Hot sex scenes.Beautiful and dramatic ending. Will definitely go for the second book and I would surely recommend it.

i read this in anticipation as a good fellow reader Becky Johnson recommended it to me one day. so ginally deciding to read it, i was in awe. it had the shifting into tigers crossed with what id say 50 Shades. but with that in mind i was entranced and kept reading.
it was different, and thats my favourite type of read.
there was a storyline, amazing mythical tiger shifters and loadsa steamy love. what more could you ask for? absolutely nothing. the characters were built up and believeable.

I'm a great fan of Heaton's work, and was lucky enough to download 'In Heat' for free!
This book is amazingly hot. Seriously! Loved the characters, their interactions and relationships. The pace was just right as it kept pushing forward and kept my hooked and gasping for more! :-)
Erik is undoubtedly swoon-worthy, and Kim's character was refreshing.
I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Bravo!

Se mi fosse capitato tra le mani prima della pubblicazione avrei eliminato almeno meta' libro. L'ho trovato ripetitivo, senza una vera storia, trama scontata senza un minimo di pathos.
Voto minimo. Sotto le due stelle di solito vado se uno proprio non e' capace a scrivere, ma in questo caso direi una balla dicendo che e' scritto male a livello grammaticale.
L'idea poteva essere sviluppata in modo decisamente migliore.
Vedremo il secondo della serie, tra un po' di tempo magari

OMFG I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! It was soo hot and an incredible read!!! This was my favourite book by Felicity Heaton so far! I love Erik, he;s so sweet and charming, and will do anything to get the girl. I love the way he is so tough and demanding yet is so scared of Kim finding out his true nature, and is scared of losing her because of this. I really loved these characters and cant wait to read the next book; In Heat: Mating Call!!! Keep up the incredible work Felicity!!! :)

when my daughter in law gave me the book to read I was not too sure about it. detraction we have for each other is just unbelievable it's like you're living in their shoes. the also have a great imagination to detail it was just amazing I mean felt like I was having my own hot flash. it was sweet they always was there when she needed help to be rescued. to have that kind of love that would be absolutely amazing. and the mile high club high club I didn't hear her complain too much about that.

Well I will start off that this book pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. Felicity made me fall in love with some charaters and want to d some damage to others. I do wish there was a little more danger from Alistair. But the conection between Eric and Kim gave chills. It did start a little slower but the build and the crash that it came to I loved. I have started getting into Shifters and this is one of my faves and I can't wait to read In Heat: Mating Call.

I saw a review from someone I follow and figured I'd give this a chance, really happy I did. I wasn't too sure what to expect, but it was definitely one hell of a ride! It was fairly well written and I enjoyed it. I had a few gripes with the wording (using the same words for things over and over, a little variation would be nice) but that was it. I'll probably be checking out more of this author's books, I'm liking her style ;)

This was a disaster. I'm highly upset I paid for this piss poor excuse of a book. What's worse? I paid for book 2 also & I'm unable to return them for a refund.
Cardboard characters, lack of plot, subpar editing, It was a confusing mess of dream sex, actual sex & in the end it achieved nothing. What was the point?!

It's an easy to read book and I read it in one day. The story had a good start and I enjoyed it though the last few chapters were little boring. I had only two problems with this book: 1. I really wanted to know about the complex mating process but the author never described it. 2. I hate handcuffed submissive men lol. It was like a very poor and more smuttier version of twilight.
