This book actually had me laughing on the train today... in the quiet carriage!! This is like looking into the real life of Lynda Renham and all the daft things she does on a daily basis! The horror of true life, which has us all with tears streaming down our faces with laughter, really is the true life of this wonderful author. It is like having her sitting in your lounge telling you about her week. A must have for Christmas to brighten the January blues away before they begin.

This was quite an amusing book giving insight to the daily life of the author & how around all of her daily things to do & deal with she also has to fit in time to write & reach her deadline no matter what else is going on in her life, she still has to deal with life's disasters, the mundane things that life as an adult carries & I liked the way she gave little snippets of her life showing that even though she's a published author her life isn't easy & she can't just get up in the morning settle down with her computer and continue writing her latest book even though she likely wants to get that new bit of storyline she thought of written down, no things like shopping, housework, appointments all have to come first even though I bet she wishes she could have the life of movie authors who have a whole range of hired help to do the shopping, housework etc. Sadly like many things in life the movies always make it look easy & stress free but by writing this book Lynda has given an insight as to what a real author has to do & it's not just sit around thinking of the next plot in the book it's much harder than that.

This is a collection of short funny stories told by Lynda Renham about her life, marriage and that goes with them. I have read many of Lynda’s others works and have laughed at each one. I laughed so much while reading Confessions of a Chocoholic that my husband wanted to know what I was reading. When I told him he just didn’t get it. (Poor guy isn’t much of a reader.) This short book touches on so many aspects of Lynda’s life, her marriage, her house additions, her sex life, and many more of her well kept secrets. At some points I was just shaking my head wondering how much more this poor lady could take, but somehow she always came out on the bright side of things or as close to the bright side as she could get. All her stories hit home, although not always to the extremes, so I could easily relate and put myself in her position.

Confessions of a Chocoholic is a book I recommend to anyone who needs a break from their own life and wants to see what an amazing author like Lynda Renham deals with. I definitely recommend checking out this book.

Confessions of a Chocoholic is a funny and humorous autobiographical collection of short stories. Lots of these stories are cringeworthingly hilarious (some more so than others). I’ve read a few of Lynda’s books and really like her easy flowing writing style!

I love that this book is divided into chapters that each contain a different anecdote of Lynda’s life. Although this book is relatively short, I did not read it in one go, but picked it up whenever I had time to read a few chapters (or sometimes even just one).

Some scenario’s I could easily identify with and thought: “Yes, I’ve been there – I’ve done that too”. Others I will hopefully never encounter (the tampon incident is all I will mention here…).

There is just something utterly brilliant reading about other people’s misfortunes (don’t worry Lynda – we are not laughing about you, but with you – honestly :-)).

This book is perfect pick-me-up for when you have a bad day. I promise you that you will feel 100% more uplifted after reading this book!!

In Confessions of a Chocoholic Lynda Renham is telling the reader some things about her life. She writes about bloopers, irritations, funny situations and topics that all women recognize but never talk about. I loved that, it was enlightening and funny. It must have taken quite a bit of courage to share some of the things she wrote about. The stories made me laugh out loud several times. So many situations Lynda Renham describes are things that many women go through and she has put them into words very well. She's writing about her every day life in an open and honest way and I really admire that. Don't try to read this collection of stories if you don't have any chocolate at home, because you will need it. I read it while eating lots of chocolate cake.

Author: Lynda Renham
Recommended for: fans of chick lit
Edition: Kindle

I found this short novella (66 pages) on the Kindle Store for free and so I thought I would give it a go. I thought that it was a really good funny book to read, I really enjoyed reading this and found myself laughing at parts it is a good light hearted read. It is sort of more like the character is just ranting at certain parts of it, but that didn't take away from the funny parts of the novella, it is about the day to day life of the author and her daily tasks but she puts a humourous touch to it. Lynda Renham is a very good and talented author.

It's an okay read, I think if you are a fan of Lynda Renham, with her books and things, you will enjoy this. Personally I didn't even know she was a writer until I read the book, but this humor diary isn't the most interesting; I understand she is trying to make certain things in her life as being funny, but it just fell flat and came across as trying too hard.
It's a decent read though, but not really a book for someone who isn't exactly aware of this author to read.

This was a short chick-lit style rant basically, which reminded me a bit of a female comedians act. Lots of moaning and jokes about tampons and how useless men are. An okay short read, but it felt like listening to one of my friends moaning, maybe a glass of wine would have helped!

I downloaded this book because it was on the Kindle store. Although it's not the genre of book that I'd normally read I decided to give it a go, however it really wasn't for me. The only saving grace was that is was so short I didn't feel like I'd wasted any time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I laughed from the first page to the last. It was very short and had me wanting more. I liked that every chapter was a different story/topic about her life as opposed to a continuous topic.
Thankfully by the end I was not addicted to chocolate.

I found this series of anecdotes to be quite amusing and a few of them made me laugh out loud, however, this isn't really a genre that I read frequently or enjoy. Although the fact that these are so short meant that I did stay interested.

Overall, an easy read which provides some giggles.

Great fun - little blog-like comments on life and sprinkled with humour. Perfect to read whilst hopping on and off trains, buses and on coffee breaks.
