Deliciously dark and richly evocative this is a phenomenal paranormal romance!

As sinfully seductive as chocolate ‘The Queen of swords’ is a tempting tale of undying love and dark desires. I was utterly enthralled by the exquisite backdrop that was sinister and spellbinding at the same time; wherein magic and mystery intertwined. Immortal Vampires and star-crossed lovers mingle in an extraordinary world filled with magic and terrible curses…

What can I say about this unique storyline that has a concept well and truly of its own ?

Where to start ??? I would give 10 stars if it were an option, there are so many elements at play in this book. The author has done her research and takes you to places that are so real you feel you are there. We have witches and vampires , tarot and love all rolled into a story that takes the reader to places past and present . Graham it seems is destine to have the love of his life or should I say lives taken from him . Cat is a witch and the most recent of his destine mate, Gra

This is the first book i read from this author and i must say I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the read very much. As i have to admit i was a fan of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and I do watch The Vampire Diaries, and have read The twilight series and Interviw with a vampire as well as seeing the films. So I am no stranger to vampire romance,I must admit. It just that I haven't read a vampire paranormal in many years and I found I still enjoy them very much. I read this book in a day w ...more

Queen of Swords is a love story through the ages.
Graham Logan has been cursed and turned into a vampire, unable to be fatally injured or die by natural means. His true love, Cat, a white witch, returns to him every hundred years, without memory of their past, yet always being drawn to him. The Tarot foretells their fate to be repeated each time they come together but does not predict happily ever after. Can destiny be changed?

In the time between Cat's incarnations, Graham makes other acquaintan

I had the honor of being a Beta reader on this book. I don't want to give any spoilers away but.....
OMGosh. this has to be one of the best books I've read in a while. Considering how many books I read that's really saying something.

You have witches, immortals, vampires, love, hate, magic who could possibly ask for more. I love this book and am anxiously awaiting more from Nina Mason. Fantastic author with one excellent imagination.

What would you do to protect your soul mate?
Graham Logan suffers a lonely existence in order to protect his.
Cat gives her life, and returns over and over again to protect her's.

It's been said the third time's a charm. Will that be true for Graham and Cat.

You must read this novel! Vampires, Witches, Romance and a surprise twist ending!

I'm honored to have been given an ARC of The Queen of Swords. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Mason.

I had the honor of being a beta reader on this book. What a pleasure--it's awesome! With vampires and witches in Scotland, Nina transports you to another world where past meets present and, in the words of Scottish poet Robert Burns, a man will "Love but her, and love forever."

Do you love to read all things Paranormal?? If so then this is definitely one for you to pick up. The cover gives you a bit of mysteriousness of what may be in the novel to pull her readers in and it grasped my attention, everyone knows that’s the first thing I look for. But of course a cover doesn’t make a book and the author did an amazing job in the story line flowing smoothly and without any holes. Graham, turned vampire has had to live a long time and been thru a lot of tragedy, especially ...more

An enjoyable, well written story. It reminded me of Outlander but with a vampire twist. There were witches, vampires, past lives, an evil villain and a sizzling, timeless romance. I loved the contrast of modern day with the past flashbacks and how Cat uses the advantages of past mistakes and modern technology try to prevent history repeating itself. Warning to sensitive readers: rape & torture.

An eBook copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Warning: This book is most definitely for adults only, due to graphic scenes of sex and violence.

Are you familiar with the occult, specifically with Tarot cards? If you are, then you must be familiar with the symbolism of the Queen of Swords card. If you are not, don’t let that stop you from reading this book, as Nina explains the symbolism of the cards quite well.

The Queen of Swords by Nina Mason, a review by Stella Coulson. A sophisticated but sexy take on the Vampire genre. Was struck by the keen eye to Historical detail of Scottish history,English and Scottish slang/colloquialisms and references to classic Vampire stories, Fae and Vampire Legends. The Author Nina Mason writes with passion and love for her setting and the characters. The world and its mythology is unique and striking. It also rather sexual, which adds, not distracts from the plot. The ...more

Extraordinary debut. Definitely recommend.

A story of curses, reincarnation, love lost, love regained, and carried by the fear of losing it all over again unless an evil wizard bent on capturing the soul of Graham Logan can be destroyed. Graham easily recognizes Cat Fingal as his twin flame, his soul mate, and his lost love who has come to him a third time. As much as he wishes another chance with her, he knows the only way to keep her safe is to stay away from her. Easier said than done when sh

Wow Nina Mason I think I might be in love with you right now. This book was more than I thought it would be. It combined a past love of mine with a new love. I have always been a huge fan of the paranormal genre, and though I read a bit of everything it remains my favorite. Besides the paranormal aspect of the book it also has men in kilts which is another favorite of mine.

I really enjoy reading paranormal romance, and Queen of Swords fit this bill perfectly. It includes vampires, witches, love won and lost over the centuries, and a curse. From the moment I saw the trailer for the book, I knew I wanted to read it, just because I was drawn in immediately. I thought the whole concept was great. Having finished, I can say that I was not disappointed, and I loved it. There are some very steamy parts as well.

A love story for the ages with star-crossed lovers, a brand new genre of erotic paranormal romance with the tarot cards taking a major role in the lives of our hero and heroine! Nina Mason weaves a beautiful tapestry of life in the timeline of 200 years featuring flashbacks of Graham and his lady love Cat characterised by trips to London & Paris in 1800's & 1900's and the present 'these trips in time' while being in the present...This was Very Well Done! I love this blending of time.

I was given this book by author Nina Mason for an honest review. This is the authors first book and all I can say is this book is going to be the start of a awesome journey for the author and for her new readers.

Cat as she liked being called felt like she had known this stranger for a very long time even though she did not even know his name and she was drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Graham was living a life of his own making which didn't include any involvement and in almost total despair

When Cat Fingal sees a handsome Scottish stranger in the library, she senses an uncanny feeling of familiarity about him... but little does she know that they have met before... in another life. The couple seems cursed to be kept apart, as each time Graham and Cat fall in love, they’re ripped apart. As in her other incarnations, Cat has a strong connection to magic and her tarot cards, which aid her in predicting the future and interpreting the present, and this time she is determined to overcom ...more

I purchased this book based on the 'honest' reviews on this site. I think I only finished it because I couldn't believe it was so bad! And bad in every sense - the writing was all tell tell tell with no show - even the sex scenes elicited no feelings or interest. The plot could have been interesting but the characters were so one dimensional and the hero - well, he was written with no real thought except how - the best way I can describe him - is how someone would make a man think, feel and talk ...more

The Queen of Swords is a great debut book by Nina Mason. When the past meets the present worlds collide in a unique way for interesting paranormal story. Graham is a vampire and has lost his love twice over the centuries. He is hesitant to give in and get involved with her this time around. Cat has saved herself for the love she has known she was meant for. The same one her past selves have loved. When she finally meets him she doesn't want t
