Great book on Christian theology although the authors outlook on speaking in tongues, performing miracles, and Revelations are a bit debatable.

Cottrell has put together in a single volume a basic understanding of the Christian faith as it pertains to doctrine. This is a must read and study for those serious about taking their faith journey to the next level.

Deep theological dive. mostly solid. He comes off as extremely arrogant throughout his book, but that doesn't discount the accuracy of his point of view. if you're looking to deeping your faith intellectually this is the book for you. it's not written to be "readable" however , so be warned

Dr. Cottrell was a fine scholar and this work is the best of the Stone-Campbell movement. I hold very different views but still worth reading.

Difficult reading that's well worth the effort, this book is a valuable resource in understanding biblical teaching on almost every important subject.
