Again, *PLEASE GET A PROOF-READER*.
Some mistakes are part of life, but know/now, off/of, we're/were/ where, commas and speech marks where they shouldn't be, lack of commas and speech marks where they should be, misuse of punctuation or just disregard for it in general, randomly spelt or hyphenated words... Really lets this book down. Please my guy, if you're reading this - I'll do your basic proof-reading for free! This book is entirely riddled and it drove me wild. I did try to skim and ignore the errors as much as possible because... (on to the pros):

This book is actually really enjoyable! Moving on from Howie's first-person/ diary perspective was a massive improvement from the first couple of books already and a good editorial choice. The new characters we're introduced to are interesting, and most of all, the camaraderie and relationships between the characters in our little "gang" keep me thinking about this book while I'm not reading it. I enjoy their banter, and I always want to keep reading more to find out what happens to the merry band.

Just a shame the punctuation and grammar is shockingly bad, otherwise this would easily have been 4-5*.

A really great zombie apocalypse series!

The characters are incredibly lovable. As in any great book, there are laughs and tears. Main characters die, hearts are broken, dangers lurk around every corner. I found myself afraid for them, despairing at their horrible plights, and actually crying at a few incidents. Occasionally, I was afraid to read the next page for fear of who would due next.
Of course, I also laughed out loud several times! Humor in the midst of trauma and danger, is my all time favorite! If an adventure book makes me laugh out loud - not just a chuckle - I'm sold on it!
On a negative note, these first fourteen days greatly need editing. It appears to be a first draft, but kudos to RR Haywood for publishing anyway!!
I've read a comment in a review that stated the grammatical errors we're so bad that the reader could not finish the books. That's unfortunate because the story is written so well that despite the errors and typos, it is worth the weeks of reading!
Even as a writing-grammar teacher who HATES grammatical errors, I strongly recommend reading this series (at least the first 14 days!
I'll keep you posted on the next books!

I found this tougher to get through and far less compelling than the 'first week'.
Generally I find the characters loveable and feel genuine heart break at some deaths and panic at some near misses, but it becomes repetitive in some aspects. I also find that the over kill usage of "banter", "mate" and "lads" gets old quickly.
That said I did still enjoy the story in general and it is definitely one of the best zombie apocalypse series going at the moment.
I do hope Haywood can get an editor on this soon though as there were typos, missing words and errors on nearly every page of my kindle edition!!

Brilliant!

This is a brilliant story and the characters are so well developed I feel as if I really know them. However, this book is in desperate need of editing and it disrupts the flow of the story. That said, I still couldn't stop reading. Once the book has been edited it'll be even better!

Poorly written

Repetitive and boring, becomes very predictable. All the charm from the first novel is lost and the author send to be desperate to create a new twist or storyline. An absolute waste of time reading it

I tried really hard to persevere with this book, because I've enjoyed other books by the same author, and I really enjoyed "The First Week" in The Undead series. Unfortunately, this one just couldn't hold my attention.

An epic read - the second week wasn’t quite on par with the first but still had some incredible characters, stories & battles! The depth of writing is phenomenal - all the small details and ‘chit chat’ mean you bond with the characters in a way you wouldn’t in a traditional shorter novel. Reading this whilst on Coronavirus lockdown has definitely fed my imagination whilst cycling around a deserted city...

By far my favorite post zombie apocalypse novel!

I absolutely loved every bit, the characters are fantastic, believable, easy to like and hard to focus on just one being a favourite. The banter, humour and down to earth nature of each very rounded character makes the book an unrivaled read in my opinion.
There are many twists and the usual happenings of those who were not good for society before the outbreak, being able to thrive where their motives are less likely to be questioned and rule unfavorable people who do unspeakable deeds. This is until the heroes get wind and do what they do.
Very much a story of good versus evil, not only the (possibly sentient) infection but other power mad human beings . I genuinely hope that there is more of My Howie and his crew as I am truly addicted to finding out how they get in i the new world!

It is hard to write this review because I loved THE FIRST WEEK so much. I thought that was one of the best zombie books I had ever read.

But THE SECOND WEEK was hard to get through. Much of the charm of the first book was gone. The new characters were either annoyingly stereotypical or just too unpleasant for me to want to spend so much time with. This book also felt a bit sadistic at times with a surprising amount of the story delving into the point of view of the wannabe rapists, actual rapists and pedophiles populating the story.

And after a while the battle scenes got really repetitive.

On the positive side, Paco, Meredith, Paula and Roy were welcome additions to the story.

This book will not be to everyone's taste, but if you're looking for a zombie novel full of blood, gore and action this is the book for you. The character's are brilliant and I became very attached to them. The book is very fast paced and twists a lot, so just when I think I can guess what will happen next something unexpected occurs. It does have very graphic descriptions of the zombie battles and a lot of coarse language, so it's not for the easily upset reader. My only bug bear was that there were a lot of typos, particularly from day 11 onwards, which always ruin the flow for me as I can't help noticing them! Apart from that it was an excellent piece of escapism and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series 😀

Compulsive and entertaining reading...

A hugely long series of books, but to me, also hugely entertaining. Pretty well written, good and plausible characters, all well stranded together and funny too. Some of his dialogue is very, very good. Graphic and violent but always with a sense of not taking itself too seriously. I've read first fourteen books and look forward to more. Sometimes I read aloud with my own big German shepherd stretched out beside me - he's a big Meredith fan! Would recommend to anyone.

Great story,shame about the spelling!

Love these books, the characters are entertaining, believable and you want to know how they get on. It has enough originality to not just be a zombie book, and I'm interested to know where we go from here. On the downside i don't think anyone type read it before publication, which is annoying with mis placed punctuation, wrong words and spelling errors distracting you from the story. But still well worth reading!!

If you excuse the pun, there are the occasional stumble through this amazing saga but overall this compilation is incredibly enjoyable to read. Once again there are some seriously random moments, but more laughs, epic episodes and some real darkness.
I found myself racing through the book, not only as I was enjoying it so much, but also as I wanted to know if some of the key characters survived.
Very, very good and seriously addictive.

Exceptional

This is one of the best books I've read in a long time and on Kindle. It's a heart-tugger, humorous, well thought out and nicely written. Usually an author gets the first book right but slacks off or just doesn't follow through in the 2nd or 3rd book. I love all the characters. I was kinda hoping that he would push the Lord's Prayer theme more - nevertheless, I'm moving on to book 3.

Addictive zombie thriller with an j treating theist on the infection. Fast moving. Some of the faster moving chapters and epic fight scenes needed an editor. If you’re a stickler for grammar, this might not be your bag. If action is your escapist preference and you can read past a few missing prepositions, this might be for you. I only noticed one or two minor continuity errors (mixing up names in a fight.)

By far.... the best series I have ever read! Seriously!!!!

I am hooked and I'm begging the movie makers, PLEASE make a series of films from these books ( if ok with Mr Haywood), but consulting Mr Haywood all the way with the plot, the humour and the cast...otherwise...you won't get it right! Tim Curry as the Doc?

THE UNEAD- THE SECOND WEEK: COMPILATION

One of the best zompoc series I've ever read! I've read the first installment and l loved how much of the book I got to be able to read! Reminds me of the days when you would get those great stories that take a couple of weeks to read. The books were huge and dinner was forgotten. What a read! 💯

A great read

Zombie novels are my secret sin. But frankly most are rubbish. This series is a great exception. The writing is mostly great . The editing needs some work here and there . The length is exceptional for a series online . You will love the characters and be surprised regularly

Best books

This book is amazing it follows from the first seven days and by now i am attached to all the characters and hooked on the story line, proof reading would have helped the writer but this series is epic and its hard to pit down, a few missspelling issues doesn't even comprehend on the middle of a war zone

Brilliant

Brilliant 2nd week!, absolutely couldn't stop reading. And then when I did stop I told my wife everything that was happening to the point where she would ask what was happening in the book now!
And me worrying about 1 of the characters getting killed because it looked to be a sure thing!.
Wow! Already downloaded the next week of books!

Amazing

I have read week one and now week two. I couldn't put them down. I was burning the midnight oil till the early hours to keep turning pages.

Love the characters and how they all mesh together. But be warned my house work took a back seat so I could keep on reading. Now to start day 15.

Brilliant series.

I love reading these book. It is my second time reading them but I still find myself laughing so much at the humour and antics of the lads. If I had to pick a favourite, it Would have to be Dave. The author has a brilliant imagination and writes a fantastic story that really keeps you entertained and not wanting the story to end.

Why is this not a film yet??

Fantastic book which keeps you glued! Just a shame about the typos throughout which can become annoying and confusing but if not for that, its one of the most enjoyable books I've read this year

Really enjoying this series, it was recommended to me by a friend when i was looking for something after Mark Tufo's Zombie Fallout series.
The characters are all loveable, and they make you laugh and cry with them.

Cookey! So upbeat through it all 'Lions and Tigers and Bears!! OH MY!'

However, the amount of typos and missed words on the copy i had is becoming a little annoying.
