Text-to-Self Connection: The Gingerbread Mouse book reminds me so much of my childhood Christmas. My mother used to read me this book multiple times during the month of December. We would do twenty-four nights of Christmas reading where I would choose a Christmas book before bed for her to read to me. I would choose Gingerbread Mouse multiple times. I find this book written and illustrated so well. The mouse had a happy ending when finding his forever home with his new family. The setting of the book was so warm during Christmas time and I will forever cherish the meaning it had for me.

Such a cute book! It was about a mouse who lived in a tree but in the middle of the night her cozy little house was destroyed by a tree branch so then she goes into someone's home and makes her new home in a gingerbread house. Later that night, Santa comes and brings her a big house for her to live in permanently and everything is better now. That story was so cute I enjoyed it as an adult. That is a story that I will read with my kids because it can give them the message to never give up when things get hard. This was a very good read!

The Gingerbread Mouse is a super sweet story about a little mouse, whose home is destroyed by a falling tree branch during a winter storm. When she sees a gingerbread house in the big house that is nearby, she knows it’s the perfect place for her to live. On Christmas Eve, Santa has a special surprise just for mouse. Then on Christmas Day, she is surprised once again! Warm and cheerful illustrations fill the pages of this perfect picture book for gingerbread lovers. Highly recommended.

Oh this is an adorable story about Mouse who loses her house just before Christmas. Ever resilient, she finds a new home, works hard to replace many of her treasured items, and is rewarded by Santa on Christmas Eve. Great colorful illustrations with wonderful details! I loved Mouse by the third page.

I think the animal lover in me is starting to show again. I loved that this little mouse went to move into a Gingerbread house. It made me think that I would like to have a little mouse in a Gingerbread house too. The family in the book seems nice although they are very peripheral. Santa is also great and takes care of the little one.

The Christmas drawings are so nostalgic and cute; I believe color pencils, watercolor and ink but don't take my word for it. A little mouse losses her home and sets out to find one on Christmas eve.

A very sweet story about a mouse who loses her home and finds another. Lovely illustrations (though Scholastic’s print job doesn’t do justice).

One of the better books we read tonight, though the girls had questions about if the mouse was allowed to live in the dollhouse by the family and why.
