"Where are we?" one of the others asked.
The elder's face lit up. "Earth."
"Earth?" Everyone said at the same time. Disbelief in their voices.
Earth was a mythical planet. Sometimes they all whispered about, but no one really believed it were true. It was dismissed by the elders at the Academy as nothing more than a legend.

This is not really YA. It's too smutty to be. One sister (Cyena) is a virgin, yes, but the other one (Tyana) doesn't shy away from sexual relatio/>/>2.5

Amazing,I devoured this book not one but twice!!!!!

No spoiler's as always.
I was given this Arc for an honest review.

Fantastic, brilliantly written not by one but two, Awesomely talented writers, whom I have glued myself to, with no regrets.
This story starts out with funny school like humor, and continues with unexpected strength.

I was really excited when I first heard about this series as I completely adore the two authors and I was really excited that they were releasing a series together! I was lucky to receive an ARC of this novella and it was amazing! The plot was a little confusing to start with if I'm honest though! Well, for me it was! The plot started straightaway, but I was quickly able to understand what was going on and piece all the plot together and make connections with who each character was! The plot was ...more

I knew that Lizzy is mean with cliffhangers but I didn't think Julia would be as well, but when these two get together, there's no stopping them and the mean-ness lol. I should have guess that 'serial' would mean short novella here I am getting into the dang story and BOOM it ends with a damn cliffhanger none the less. Welon I just didn't like his a** what so ever, "Welon frowned. "I do worry my heir will have a weakened ability." Cyena flushed. His familiar words crushed her. He started harping ...more
I'm not quite sure where I'm coming down on the whole "serial" novel thing. I think in the time of Dickens it would've driven me batty waiting for the next installment. I think in the time of Crane & Ford it is going to drive me batty waiting for the next installment! :P

These two sisters share a bond and they're about to be separated by space and war. Cyena, having been ridiculed for years now on her TWO gifts not manifesting, is suddenly outside the walls with the commoners, reliant upon K

I just want to start off by saying that this is a serial and only the first installment is out at this time. It ends with a cliffhanger but more than likely all of them will since it's a serial.

This book is about two sisters Cyena and Tyana who are very close but also very different. They live in a world where people are judged by their powers. Tyana is revered for hers among their people while Cyena's powers are no better than a servants. When the rebellion starts their lives take a

Amazing read lizzy and Julia did a really good job. Cyena and tyana are sisters and both have different powers one sisters powers ranks her as serving class but her family wouldn't allow her to be sent off to the serving class.. Both girl are completely different tyana isn't afraid to go after what she wants and Cyena kinda keeps to herself. I don't want to give to much away so I will stop here but I hope y'all pick up a copy because you will love it

It was short. The character development was pretty good, but the heroes of the story have loose morals. There are a couple of graphic sex scenes. I would have preferred not to have read that.

The plot was good. I want to follow the story to find out what happens next. However, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone under 18.

This review is of the entire serial as I read the book in that way. I didn't judge the book positively or negatively on this fact.

Starwalkers feels like several books in one. And it does appear to be a serial of six, combined for this edition. But the story reads differently from beginning to end. Initially, there is a solid fantasy feel, with underpinnings of dystopia/utopia. But by the end, the wording, story, and tone of the book is all fairy tale. While the author's voice was gen

I love the world Lizzy Ford and Julia Crane created in this story. When I read paranormal, fantasy, or sci-fi, I often find that it takes me a little bit to warm up to the story and background before I get sucked in and start to enjoy it. So I was worried that with such a short story that as soon as I got into it, that it would be over. However, I enjoyed it from the very beginning and look forward to more continuations.

Severed is part of a serial novel and only about fifty-nine pages in length, but what a jammed packed action filled fifty-nine pages it is. Cyena and Tyana are sisters and part of the powerful ruling class. They have lived a life of comfort and with the exception of the ridicule Cyena is subjected to because of the lack of manifestation and ability to use her powers, they have always been cosseted and protected. Through a series of thought provoking events the sisters come to realize all is not ...more

Cyrena and Tyana are sisters to one of the most powerful families on their planet. Restricted to the walls of the city, the girls are oblivious to what is going on outside of the walls. Tyana has the most prestigious power that any could have and that is mind power. Cyena’s powers are less notable and are considered second class which makes her an outcast in her own family.

When all hell breaks lose and the girls are separated it us to them to figure out how to get back together and t

When Lizzy Ford and Julia Crane, two most notable authors came together to write the Starwalker Series, one had to be blown away.

There was so much to love about this short and it came to an end far too quickly for my tastes, making me pounce excitedly on part 2. There was the gorgeous, sexy romance between Tyana and her bodyguard, the fun flirtation between Cyena and Kaydon, who have the alluring star-crossed tension, the wonderful science fiction flavor with it's fascinating alien setting with colored crystals and oddly-colorful shrubbery while still mixed with mundane things like college life with dorm rooms and classes ...more

This is the first book in the Starwalker Serials by Lizzy Ford and Julia Crane. They write as a cohesive team through out the who series. You can't even tell that there are two authors at work for each serial.

Severed stars two sisters, Tyana and Cyena, from an elite family. One has the most desired trait in their world. The other has two, more subtle, traits. Though they are complete opposites, they share a strong bond. They live a sheltered life, believing that the most difficult th

Love the pairing of these two authors and was very excited to read this book. I definitely got pulled in from the start, and flew through it...biggest negative? The bloody book ended too soon!!!

I wasn't expecting the book to have a somewhat dystopian feel, but it did come across that way. Sort of like The Birthmarked Trilogy (although very different too). I liked the sisters who were loyal to each other, but had very different personalities and ambitions. Part of this was based on the fact that

This book was given as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Cyena and Tyana are sisters born into an elite group of people with special abilities. Although Tyana is the younger of the siblings she is the one with the stronger abilities and is placed higher in the system than Cyena. Cyena was always made to feel inferior and has had to deal with abilities that won't work right and a pairing with a guy from the elite class who just wants her genes and not her. The girls world is shattered as t ...more

Cyena has always felt out of place and those she lives among including her father makes her feel less than acceptable. Her sister Tyana is the elite starwalker and favored by all including their father Evan. They are part of the Lemurrian society which includes the wealthy, each with certain powers and their job is to preserve their bloodlines. Cyena wants more and that includes going over the wall which they are never allowed to do. They are not to interact with the lower class and servants. He ...more

I enjoyed this book. The book was short.. But that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of story there. I think it was neat that each sister's story was written by one of the author's. I of course could not tell who wrote which side- Both sister's stories were well written, and blended well. In this first book in the The Starwalkers Series we meet Tyana and Cyena. One sister is destined for greatness, while the other is constantly looked down upon. Sometimes we find that the life we thought we knew.. ...more

I will start by saying that Severed may be a short beginning but it did not feel that way for me. Each chapter was packed with information building a really different story. I loved it, a lot. So much so that when it did end, I wanted much more.
Twin sisters, Cyena and Tyana, different in ways that can pull sisters apart, because one doesn't exhibit the same powers as her sister, she is considered lower class. Upper elite and lower class......sound familiar? A gated/walled community getting read

We are first introduced in this book to Cyena, a girl who is born to Elite Parents. She is struggling getting a handle on her powers and is shunned because of it. We then meet her sister Tyana who has a much more valuable power, but is also struggling to get control of her powers. Secrets have been kept, boundaries put in place, and traitors among them.

This is a 59 page short book that managed to really develop into a great story. I was impressed with the degree of embellishment Lizz

This is a short sci-fi story about Tyana and Cyena, sisters who live on a world where psychic abilities are the norm and the stronger your abilities are, the more influence and importance you have in society. Tyana is the sister with the stronger abilities, as she is destined to become a powerful starwalker. Whereas, Cyena is the sister believed to have the weaker abilities and is regularly made fun of by fellow students and brushed off by her father, as unimportant.

Firstly, how friggin awesome is this cover?? LOVE IT!! This story was really fast paced and amazing and my only complaint is that it was too short. We just touch the surface of this world and the story ends. But my curiosity has definitely been peaked. I have to know where this story is going. I don't want to give anything away because I hate spoilers so I will leave it at that.
Just trust me when I say this serial

This was an amazing start to the starwalkers series. Lizzy Ford and Julia Crane did an amazing job co-writing this book and it turned out really well. The story is set on another world and the people there have powers. Two sisters are part of the elite Lumurrian and live and go to school inside the wall. They soon discover a secret that they weren't meant to find out but it is already to late. The sisters get separated in all the confusion and now they must fight their own battles and find each ...more

Two of my favorite authors co-write this sci-fi story about two sisters, one who is treated like a princess since she is a Starwalker and the other treated cruelly because her powers won't manifest. The two sisters are sheltered from the rest of the world and they have no idea what is going on with the poor people on the other side of the wall. Two attractive guards, one pretty cranky round out the rest of the characters in this short serial novella. I like the sexy parts but I couldn't seem to ...more

Before you start reading, realize that this book is a serial. If you hate suspense and cliff-hangers, then you may want to wait until more installments in this series are released. That said...

This series is fantastic! Julia Crane and Lizzy Ford have done a phenomenal job at linking their writing styles to create an enthralling and captivating take. I love that this book takes a step away from the traditional boy-meets-girl romances or the overly done love-triangles. The two sisters

I had high hopes since this is Lizzy Ford but the book fell flat. I skimmed the last third.

There is one scene where the lead character is being striped by her lover because she is not dressed correctly (servant's attire) during a rebellion by instigated by the servant class. In the next paragraph she is striding out the door to find her sister. No where in the text is she dressed again. Did this chick walk out naked?

There are several other instances like this.
