Sometimes unpredictable is exactly what’s needed, but can Corner Pub owner Damon convince shy Thursday night regular Toby of that?

Damon loves his life—his bar, his employees and his beer. He especially loves Thursdays. That's when the mysterious little red-head dances into his bar, drinks two honey wheat brews, and flits right back out.

Toby's comfortable. He has a good job

Prior to reading: I have a feeling it is going to be sexy fluff but add a ginger to any book and I can be tempted. I'm so weak for red heads.

After reading: You'd think I'd know better by now? This is my tenth Sean Michael book and for some reason I can't quit him.

He writes some smutty shit and sometimes it works. It's like I'm a smut detective searching for the right story. Sadly, this was not one of them. Or should I say it is sort of a gem because I laughed so hard, at all the wrong reasons.

2.5 Stars

This is what it is. I really hate that colloquialism, but it's so appropriate here. Needy holes were plugged and insta love was instant. Poor Toby can't complete a sentence but he's needy, so what can you do? I'm not proud, but I read through the series in one weekend, it was a butt plug-apalooza and sometimes a reader needs that too. Apparently Toby and I both have needs ;).

I need to stop. Just say no.

*waves hand in circles* It's all that and then just make it less coherent and add random drama. That said, the butt plugs were kinda hot.

A haiku:
Toby, wheat beer fan
Damon, barkeep, wants his ass
Yup, literally

That's pretty much it. Pure fluff. Toby's a virgin that has a thing for butt plugs and wheat beer. Damon takes him in hand (lol) and... Yeah.

It was like one epically long sex scene where the boners never died and the spunk was on tap... *blink...blinkblinkblink*

and dude, OMG could you talk, just a little more during sex? I had trouble breathing through the sex scenes. Because they were so hot, you ask? Well, no. I mean, they were sort of hot, I guess, but I was distracted by the lack of air due to all the breathy (possibly my interpretation) stuttered, incomplete, incoherent talking, constant broken sentences through every second of

This was an incredibly well written story: TWO YEARS AGO when Mercy Celeste wrote The 51st ThursdayThe 51st Thursday.

Now I don't want to say plagiarism...but the coincidence of the guy Toby coming into a bar owned by a guy named Damon, every Thursday night for years, having two beers and leaving is incredibly like when Shelby aka Thursday came into Deacon's bar every Thursday night for a year. The difference is this author removed the hurricane and insert a butt plug.

Lots of SEX. LOTS and LOTS of it. I haven't read about anyone coming that many times in a matter of a handful of pages within an hour or so of a story-timeline. WOW.

What's this about you ask?
And where is YOUR energizer bunny boy-toy??

Toby comes into Damon's gay bar for three years, once a week on the exact same day. He never missed a day. Damon had his eyes on the ginger Toby ever since his first visit and watched him with hungry eyes for three years.

When one day, after three whole years, Damo

I received a free copy of this book at RT16. I received the second book as well, but I'm not interested enough in the characters to read it.

No plot until the very end of the book. The innocent, virginal hero goes to the other hero's apartment on page six and 99% of this book is sex with strange, stilted dialog between scenes. We never learn anything about either character; it's like they only exist for the purpose of the sex scenes. There are only three other characters: a roommate with a few li

Comfortable and predictable is what many people want out of life – or at least they think they do. It takes courage to take a step toward the edge of your comfort zone, and for most people that is an impossibility if left to their own devices. What would be the point? Toby in this story seems to be just such a man. And yet… he’s been coming to Damon’s bar for three years, predictable as clockwork, making Damon suspect Toby may be looking for something. Is it excitement? Is it a discovery of his ...more

Okay, personally, this story is for a trash. 99% of the story describes sex scenes between Damon and Toby. And I was sick of it after the first sex scene, between them. I believe Sean Michael forgot to insert a serious plot into this story, because this was pure sex and nothing else. Okay, some scenes were hot, I admit, but damn, to many is just to many. Why spoil a reader with to many scenes. I was disappointed!!!

2 things really bugged me.

1)It just felt like some highschool boy pressuring someone into sex. There were times that it let up...but then it would start up again.

Feeling pressured to give in, isn't sexy.

The 2nd, I got over quickly. But really, who walks up to someone, they have never spoken to, and asks them if they have ever worn a plug? Just out of the blue. Ewwww!

The things that they were doing didn't bother was that Toby didn't seem ready yet. He may have enjoyed it, but he shouldn

Toby is a sculptor who has been coming to the same bar on Thursday for three years drinking the same thing. FINALLY Damon makes a move and poor "straight" Toby soon finds himself in bed and finds out he's a size queen who has a thing for plugs and spankings, right up Damon's alley. Someone tries to rob the bar which is scary enough, but he ends up in the apartment and Toby is shot. Toby believes it's someone after him, Damon believes it's just some crackpot homophobe who doesn't like his gay bar ...more

Really disappointed with this - too much in one week ... didn't buy that someone who took 3 years to try one fantasy is suddenly losing his virginity, getting pierced, plugged daily and spanked in a week !

- I liked that the guys have been eyeing each other for 3 years before the story starts. The longstanding mutual attraction made it easier for me to accept how quickly the relationship moves once the guys get going.
- Toby’s insecurity about his desires doesn’t just magically go away after a couple of nights with Damon. His doubts lessen, but he requires

2 rounded up to 2.5 as I didn't notice any spelling or grammar errors...I usually like Sean's work so this was a disappointment. IMO Malted would have been better served with more plot to go with all of the (mostly unrealistic) sex. Toby has been coming into Damon's bar for THREE years without saying anything (not sure how that happens BTW) Damon decides tonight is the night to speak up and within the hour inexperienced Toby is not only ready to stay the night, he is kinky as all get out. Don't ...more

Hmmm... I dunno about this one...
I didn't feel like Toby was mentally equipped to make decisions on his own... was there supposed to be something wrong with him? I understand being a near virgin and never having been with a man before, but... someone that naive or that lost when it comes to anything sexual at all? He needed constant reassuring that what he liked wasn't nasty or just fantasy and it wasn't even kinky stuff... it was pretty annoying, I can't say I would have been as patient as Damo

M/M Dom/sub romance which opens up with very little character development and jumps into sexy time like a porno so I'm not sure if I'm going to finish this one...
If you're looking for only sex with plugs, unrealistic piercing (impossible to do what they do on the same day as getting pierced!) and no relationship building what so ever, then you will find it in this book.
Bar owner, Damon picks up a regular Thursday client, Toby with some really brutally honest questions about some personal stuff.

I have to say I rather enjoyed this book, it was seriously sexy and amusing too! Damon is a Dom and finds a new toy, called Toby.. he then goes on to educate the recently out of the closet Toby. It is mainly sex, but I found it quite hot, Damon knows his stuff and pleases Toby a lot. There could have been more characther development, especially Toby who couldn't finish a sentence?

Toby has been going to Damon’s bar for three years: he always sits in the same corner, has two drinks and leaves without ever talking to anyone. Damon is intrigued by the red-haired man, and one night he decides to talk to him, and challenge him to do something different… Will Toby accept the challenge?
There are two characters: Damon is experienced, Toby is a virgin. They meet at Damon’s pub and decide to have sex. And sex they have. A lot of sex. Basically they have sex and eat to reco

Toby is a shy artist who goes into Damon's bar every Thursday for 3 years, drinks 2 beers, then leaves. Until one Thursday when Damon starts talking to him. Next thing ya know, Damon is taking Toby upstairs to his apartment & pressuring him into sex. For the first time ever! The rest of the book is Damon's dirty mouth & pretty much non-stop sex with shy, virginal Toby. Lot's of talking during the sex. Mostly Damon.

The endearments & the shy virgin trope got old very quickly.

Yes it was a sex-fest. Yes it had no plot. I had been reading emotionally hear tug stories, so I was ready for this. No redeaming social values just two guys, sex, plugs and piercing. Toby was a virgin but he did say he watched porn. My husband & I have owned small businesses so the most unbelievable part was that Damon could leave his business so easily. The other parts were just sex. Sometimes I need to read something stupid. (51st Thursday was better.)
