Sun Poisoned is the second book in the Sunshine series by Nikki Rae. In this book, Sophie and her friends have graduated and are beginning a new adventure. This is their dream, to play music and actually get paid for it. Sophie, Myles, Boo and Trei pack their bags and move to New York. They will be playing at the Midnight club. Sophie and Myles are a couple, officially. Her life is about as normal as it can be. Even her relationship with her Mother is somewhat better. But can this last

Where to even start with Sun Poisoned. Maybe I should just begin with the fact that this one was even BETTER THEN THE FIRST!! Yes I liked Sunshine. It was a good book that was filled with a lot of intense emotions and wasn't something that you normally read. Sun Poisoned surpassed any expectations I had for the second book in the series!!

Sophie has finished high school and is jumping at the opportunity to move up in the world.

*Ebook obtained directly from the author in exchange for an HONEST review* These are my own honest thoughts. I'll be posting a full review on my blog soon.

Okay, this series just keeps getting better. See my review for Sunshine #1. This novel's review can nearly be a repeat of that one. I'm pleasantly surprised and love the ups and downs going on throughout the series. Like I said before, I'm usually leery of new vampire series because they're generally either good or really bad. There's few in

First Warnings: Kay so first off, this is the second to a series - sorry the series name escapes me at the moment. So yeah there will be spoilers for book one but NOT BOOK TWO - this book ;) and SECOND off, I was given this in exchange for an honest review, and thats what i do, honest reviews <3

I still love Sophie (even though she can be a bit frustrating) and I adore how non-glamourous, even creepy, the vampires are. I just didn't enjoy book 2 as much as book 1. This one I'd give 3.5-4 stars, whereas book 1 was more like 4-4.5 stars.

Sophie is one of my absolute favourite female lead characters in a New Adult book. As well as her having the coolest hair and tattoos, I think it's because her monsters are so real

Coming into this book, I did not really know what to expect. I knew that Sophie was moving to New York to pursue her dream in music. And, that she and Myles were going to be a couple. But, I really was not anticipating the slight twists and turns that their relationship was going to take.

Getting the full-time gig at Club Midnight proved to be a blessing and a curse for Sophie. She got to play music with her friends, Boo and Trei, and also got an invite to
I received Sun Poisoned from the author in return for an honest review. Sun Poisoned is the second book in the Sunshine series. The book starts not long after the first one has ended with Sophie living in New York with her two best friends and fellow bandmates Boo and Trei. After everything that’s happened she still can’t believe she’s living her dream. She has her own apartment even a job plus her band gets to prefer at Evan’s club in Chinatown and then there is Myles who is her boyfriend.

Sun Poisoned is the second book in the Sunshine series following Sophie and Myles. I really love Sophie and Myles. They are simply adorable in their vampire/human relationship sort of way! Sophie took a piece of my heart in the first book Sunshine and I have a soft spot for her, hoping she will finally be happy.

In Sun Poisoned Sophie moves to New York with her two best friends & Myles. Life in New York is great for Sophie; she is having success with

I loved this book! Sun poisoned picks up after the first book with Sophie, Myles and the gang living in New York. Sophie,Boo and Trei are doing what they love, Playing music at a club in Chinatown.
This book was fantastic. I loved reading about how much Sophie is trying to change but also how hard it is to do that. You really see her struggle with everything she has been through in her life and how she is trying to get over it but it's not easy. She wants to be able to let go and do "normal" cou

Sun Poisoned (The Sun Shine Series) Book#2 is a mysterious journey through the twist and turns of the life of Sunshine. Sun Poisoned picks up where book 1 left off, with Sunshine picking up the pieces from the physical and emotional pain that had been her life. She has healed and living with her friends and Myles in New York city. Playing her music, Sunshine appears to now be living the dream. Although even at the very beginning, there appears to be a cloud marring the happiness of life, with th ...more

I was so torn about this book. I didn't know if I should give it 4 or 5 stars but I went with four because I had some issues that I couldn't get over.

Don't get me wrong this is a great read. I loved the characters. I just didn't get Sophie half the time. She made such idiotic decisions in this book that I couldn't pass over. Why would you not talk to the person you love, have a heart to heart, let him explain, and explain

There is a tragic event that takes place in this book. I won't give it away. But I cried... big, ugly, body wracking sob cry. My heart broke...shattered into a million little pieces and spilled all over the floor. I still haven't picked them all up! This event breaks not only me, but knocks Sophie back down about a million rungs on the ladder she's tried so hard to climb up. I wanted to jump into the book and just hug everyone! If I tell you who else falls with her it'll give it away. So be warn ...more

I think i loved Sun Poisoned more than Sunshine and i didn't think that was possible. It starts out with Sophie and her band and best friends Boo and Thei moving to new to play at Midnight club. Nikki Rae is so talented with her writing. Everything about the story draws you in and it's so easy to love every one of her characters. Sophie is still trying to get past everything that has happen to her and is always atempting to get closer to Myles. Of course Myles is still his amazingly caring self ...more

This book was one heck of a read! The main character Sophie is so emotionally raw and damaged it makes my heart hurt reading through her memories and dreams. There was more than once I had to put the book down just to gather myself back together. Just when you start to think Sophie's life is getting better and everything is going to be ok all hell breaks lose in the worst possible ways. Now her world and life are completely falling apart and she's not left with many choices to fix things. Myles ...more

This book picks up near enough straight from the first one, it has the exact same effect on me as the first one did, 'I COULDNT PUT IT DOWN' :-)
It was like an emotional rollercoaster, happy, sad, feeling sorry for them, all the way through this book.
I think im still in shock over what Myles done (wont go into detail, i dont want to ruin it for you all), but "how could he :-(". Here was me thinking he was perfect (well he almost was except the one slip up) but then again i understood why he done

Again I have to thanks Nikki for lending out her books to me in return my honest review. Sun Poisoned is book #2 of the Sunshine series, Sophie and Myles are back!

Sophie nnd Myles are back and living it large in New York, the band is doing great . . . Life is good. Myles still can't feel what Sophie feeling anymore but that doesn't prevent him from getting close to her and her being close to him.

An excellent continuation of the first book about Sophie and Myles. I love that this author can make you feel what the characters are feeling. It was interesting to feel Sophie's betrayal at a lie and Myles heartfelt sorrow and belief that he was protecting her all at the same time. This story is the perfect example of how small lies or non-disclosures of truth can lead to huge consequences. My heart broke more than once during this book. Thankfully, the author was kind enough to mend it as well ...more

Some stories are made for happy endings, this isn't one of those. I still have trouble understanding Sophie, I keep thinking things would have been better is she would have just talked to Miles and let him explain. Its like the elephant in the room, you can only ignore it for so long. They are both to blame for how things turned out.

As for Michael, I am still not sure why he can't be killed. Also the blood poisoning isn't explained very well.

I am hoping the next book in this series will ex

I don't know how to accurately describe how I felt while reading this book. I loved it, absolutely loved it!

This is the 2nd book in the series and it's even better than the first one. Ends with a total cliff hanger that leaves you NEEDING the 3rd book, like NOW. My dear Nikki Rae, I hope you have it done soon because I can not STAND not knowing what i going on. I feel like my 2 closest friends are just gone! Poof!

After you read and love Sunshine, you need to read this.

Thank you to Nikki Rae for letting me beta read this! Once again I am impressed by Nikki's amazing writing and her originality. Those who were fans of Sunshine will not be disappointed with this second novel. We're back with the same characters we fell in love with in book one, and now we can watch as they grow as adults. They're out of high school and in NY where things really start to heat up. And then there's Myles..<3 That's all I can say about that lol I love him. Can't wait to see what ...more

In the second book in the Sunshine series we see Sophie living in New York, playing at Midnight with her band, and working at the club selling merchandise. She has escaped her mother, she is doing what she loves, and she has boyfriend Myles plus her friends Boo and Trei to enjoy life with.

Sophie is still haunted by her past but she is also now haunted by other people's as well. The incident with Michael has brought Sophie into Myles' world and she is

So, it's not a secret that I was really impressed by Sunshine (review here. WARNING: contains mild gushing), and I found this sequel to be very similar in both it's strengths and weaknesses. I again really enjoyed the quirky, genuinely likable characters. And I loved this book's guts in making major twists, which lent it (needed) distance from the cliché-storyline path. However, some of the weaknesses that I was easily able to overlook in Sunshine, were a little harder to ignore here, and so I w ...more

I love this series. It’s beautiful, unique, and emotional. But, to be honest, Sun Poisoned wasn’t my favorite. The last 25% of this book was 5-star worthy for sure…but the previous 75% was only around 3 stars for me. It definitely suffered from second-book syndrome.

What made the last part of this book so good was the intensity and raw emotion that swelled from the pages. I wouldn’t say that Rae’s writing is gorgeous and flowing or anything, but the whole thing is so very human; It’s lik

Having moved to New York with her boyfriend, Myles, and her bandmates Boo and Trei, Sophie has started a new life filled with her passion; music. But embroiled in that life is the paranormal that she became part of via Myles, and his enemy Micheal. At first it has very little baring on her life, other than the fact that when they get close Myles' fangs come out, but slowly he

This second book in the Sunshine series definitely lived up to the amazingness of the first book - there was no middle book syndrome with this series!!

The series follows Sophie, a teenage girl with an allergy to the sun and a whole host of psychological issues (I'll get into those more in my actual review). She spends her life avoiding people - everyone except her two
