First Impression
Confession: I saw the cover for this book and instantly wanted to know what it was all about! Once I read the synopsis I was so curious to know what the decision was that Carrie made that caused her life to change.

Opening Lines
"Carrie Newman's day started out like any other, only there were presents involved."

While the premise of the story is stereotypical of chick lit novels, Isabella found a way to keep it entertaining throughout, making it a page turner from beginning to end. I would have preferred the story to be in first person, as I think it would have been easier to stay connected to the emotions Carrie was feeling even more. However, I reached a point where I forgot that it was in third person because I felt invested in the story. There was a general tone of being happy-go-lucky, as Carrie wa ...more

What a sweet story! The Right Design is a quick, fun read with a great main character named Carrie. She breaks it off with her boyfriend of six years and even after he begs for forgiveness and a second chance, she wants nothing to do with him She even moves to a new town in a different state in order to get over him. That takes a lot of guts to turn your life upside down and make a change like that. More power to her!

Carrie nearly had it all, she was successful in a job she loved and had just been nominated for partner in the architect firm she worked at and it was her and Roger's six year anniversary and she had a little surprise for him. Though the surprise would be on her, when she gets off work early and finds him banging someone on the kitchen bench. Feeling betrayed and broken, Carrie does an impulsive action and moves away to start a new and fresh start. Lucky for her , her old boss has connections an ...more

While the book started out well, that didn't last long. Romance novels are a dime a dozen, and so I try not to judge them too harshly because they're fun to read. I usually grab them for those cheesy plot lines, and sexxy scenes, so even the most predictable would get at least 3 STARS, because they pretty much meet expectations. However, this book seemed to go out of its way to be as mediocre and bland as possible, with absolutely nothing to make the characters feel realistic. Carrie breaks up w ...more

A wonderful story about starting over.

On what should have been the happiest day of Carrie Newman’s life, it doesn’t end that way. She got a surprise gift from her boyfriend Roger early in the morning for their 6 year anniversary. Then, her boss tells her she is in the running for a big promotion. She heads home early after stopping to buy a sexy outfit for Roger. The surprise is on her when she finds him having sex with another woman.

I was given a copy of this to review.

I loved this book. It sucked that her boyfriend cheated. However, if he hadn't she wouldn't have ended up where she was in the end. Sure Brad didn't give us a good first impression but he was so much better later on. I was also happy that everything worked out for her sister and her husband in the end.

In her debut novel, The Right Design, author Isabella Louise Anderson weaves a delightful tale that follows a woman's journey of self-discovery and finding an unexpected second chance at love.

I was in really a bad mood when I decided to read this book, and all I wanted to do was dive into a new story, get invested with new characters, and just forget myself. So, I clicked with Carrie almost immediately, and was entirely absorbed in everything that was happening in her life.

Carrie had been dating Rodger for 6 years, he was everything to her, and she knew that he was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. She was hoping that he would finally propose to her, so

In her debut novel Isabella, weaves a delightfully romantic tale, destined to melt the heart of the coldest hearted reader. Following a woman’s journey of self-discovery and a second chance to find love, this novel is a lovely chick-lit read. I loved how independent Carrie was in her passion for interior design especially in her pursuit of starting a life thousands of miles away from her original hometown. I loved the determination that Carrie showed and her independence in contrast with her pas ...more

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book. Aware it was a ‘man cheats’ story, I hoped it wasn’t going to be a tale about ‘revenge best served …’ It wasn’t. I’m delighted to say it was a bright, uplifting read with a touch of Florida sunshine. Well done to the author for the evocative location descriptions, which transported me right there from the grey old UK. Well done, too, on the attention to detail regarding Carrie’s career as an interior designer. I found her character totally ...more

First off, the cover drew me in first. The blurb did the rest. I began reading through The Right Design hoping it would deliver on the expectations I had for it. The book delivered.

Initially, I had a strong connection with Carrie. She’s a hard-working, independent, strong woman who knows what she wants out of life. She has a carrier that she loves. Is financially stable. Lives with with her boyfriend of six years, and feels as if things are going well. The only thing she wishes she could accompl

I was initially drawn into this book because of the quality of the writing. I can usually sniff out a romance book I won't like from the start based on how it is written. My nightmares are the ones that come off cheesy and over the top or the ones where the author lacks the ability at being descriptive in terms of back story or scenery so that it feels like the book just jumps from one romance scene to the next. Anderson, thankfully, is a great writer who builds us a nice world to jump into. Her ...more

I want Carrie's life! OK, maybe not the cheating now ex-boyfriend loser, but the rest of it I love! Her sister Sara and her husband Sean are amazing and are there whenever she needs them, she has an amazing career (that I have always admired) and she is a strong woman that won't take any s--- from a man! A good job and a long time steady boyfriend. Her sister is her best friend and they have good times. On a date where things could potentially turn out amazing turns out...a bit less than that. Okay, maybe that's understating it a bit. Carrie's whole world turns upside down. While one thing might lead to good, something else changes.

While I wanted Carrie to not be so upset over someone, i've been in her shoes to a point, and even though I hoped she'd put the person in his place, I understood eve

THE RIGHT DESIGN is a lovely contemporary romance with all the right elements--it's sweet, a little steamy, and there's plenty of girl power!

Main character Carrie comes home to find, instead of an engagement ring, her boyfriend cheating on her. She takes her dignity and relocates, striking out on her own. She gets a great job as an interior designer, and her first job is for a known playboy--although he's quite irresistible. Carrie doesn't want to jump into another relationship, but there's some
