This is an entertaining short read that really takes your breath away. Mental Illness can be debilitating to a family’s structure and Lacey’s family is no exception. I won’t kid you, there are some scenes in this story that will affect you deeply.

This book portrayed Lacey's mother as being violent. People with BPD will harm themselves before they would harm someone else. I'd like to know what research the author did into this disorder. I am currently in recovery from BPD and have done Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), the most effective treatment for BPD. If you would like to read a better book, try "Healing From Borderline Personality Disorder: My Journey Out Of Hell Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy" by Debbie Corso. An excellent ...more

What a fantastic short story!

Tears In The Sun is a raw heart felt read that grabs you from the first pages. Great topic and storyline, which families can go through when living with a family member who suffers mental illness challenges in life. And to write that in fiction form can be difficult. I do suffer from mental heath issues, so this story was very relatable to me. Great job as it is well written! I look forward to a full length book from J A Owenby hopefully in the future. I'm a Fan! International bestselling author J.A. Owenby grew up in a small backwoods town in Arkansas, where she learned how to swear like a sailor and spot water moccasins skimming across the lake.
She finally ditched the south and headed to Oregon. The first winter there, she was literally blown away a few times by ninety-mile-an-hour winds and storms that rolled in off the ocean.

Eventually, she longed for
