Excellent read and entry into Herbal and Healing plants. I read this book while recovering from a surgery. I strongly feel that reading this book added to my healing process. The book gently takes you on a tour of the story of the healing plants both in the Occident and the Orient in time. It then takes you on a journey and introduces you to a family of medicinal plants. At last it shows you how to grow your own herbal garden and make your herbal medicines. I have made my first cough syrup and now I know what i will give as gift to my friends and family come next festive season. The book has been a gift and a medicine for me. Many thanks to the authors for their dedications.

I feel like this was more work to read and do research than beneficial. It does have good information, but it's not easy to follow. The overall feel of the writing isn't just dry, it's boring. Drugery to get through. However, it is beneficial in learning about the growing of the healing herbs listed.
