Have you ever read a series that has just climbed into your heart and soul, and will stay there forever? This series is exactly that for me. A while back, I decided to give Taken, the first book in the series, a try and I fell head over heels. This series is magical, enticing, sexy, and mysterious. This is one of those books that completely took my breath away and I devoured it in one sitting. Felicia Starr has an incredible talent with words and I can't wait for the world to discover her. Many of the best things in life are little kept secrets like her.
In this second installment in the Breaking the Darkness series, Kasha is given unexpected freedom with the sexy, mysterious, delicious Graven (he is my new book boyfriend. HE IS YUMMY). We also meet some new characters that gives this story a more dynamic storyline. I loved taking this adventure with Kasha and meeting new characters and having some (not nearly all) my questions answered. One thing I love about this book is Kasha's spirituality and willingness to accept the things that are happening around her. She is living in a new, unknown world, with only Graven to guide and teach her (in more ways than one, if you get my drift hehehehe...). I love the relationship that develops between Kasha and Graven, and Kaden is just a bag full of tricks and mysteries. I want to hate him, but I can't discount him yet. I know there are many secrets that are just waiting to be uncovered about him and I can't forget about Kasha's dreams with him in Taken.

If you are looking for a fun, sexy, new adventure, this is the series for you. This is a multifaceted adventure and is completely unique. It is very rare in this world that you read something unlike anything you have ever read before, but this series does it. This book is a rare gem among dull stones and you will not be sorry for reading it.

I couldn't wait to read this book, and I was so excited that it started off right where book one ended. I was hoping to get all the answers to my many questions and to see where things would lead after the ending of the first book, but this story didn’t quite develop the way I was expecting.

It was more about Kasha and Graven’s relationship, not that I’m complaining because I enjoyed seeing them together, but I was expecting more from the Uni paranormal aspect because I still felt the details of this were a little vague.

When Nate appeared on the scene things seemed to be coming together and after everything I’d learned in Marked the level of deception became quite clear. When the truth about his ability/powers came to the forefront it was obvious what role he’d played within this series and I couldn’t wait to see him get what was coming to him.

I would love to continue this series to see what more lies in store for Kasha and the rest of the characters.

Awesome... supernatural...light vs darkness

This is book 3 of this series. It is an awe inspiring tale of a woman and her destiny amongst the natural and supernatural forces of good and evil. The characters are well defined and you get drawn into the story. Thanks to the Author, Felicia Starr, on an amazing series! I can't wait to read more!!!!

Please be sure to read Taken and Marked before reading Betrayed, as it is meant to be a series. Enjoy the journey! ~ Felicia Starr.

Review:

This book picked up where Taken left off, but I feel that I should have maybe read Marked before I read this book. I did enjoy this book, but I am left a little confused. The plot has the relationship between Kasha and Graven strengthening as they work with each other to uncover the mysteries of Kasha, her Grandmother, and her mother. Let us not forget the power that is growing inside of her. The chemistry is definitely heating up between Kasha and Graven. Betrayed is just that. It seems that there are very few people that Kasha can trust. Including one of the people she thought was helping her. The pace is still fast with lots of action, as well as some real violence. This book ended in a cliffhanger. Although I can’t find any indication of another part of this series a book 3, there are just too many unanswered questions. Kasha is still finding out about the powers that are developing within her. As things get very crazy, Kasha still remains true to the light.

Each book just keeps getting better and better. I was drawn in quickly and couldn’t wait to find out where Felicia was going to take Kasha’s story next. Felicia paints such a vivid picture of it all. It makes you feel as if you are there and can visualize it all and feel right along with the characters. In Betrayed the journey becomes even more exciting. Some parts comes together to give us some much needed answers and some adds to the mysteries. I was so pleased when I would find I had pieced together some of this puzzle right and so shocked at times to find I was way off, especially the cliffhanger scene at the end. I so did not see that coming.

Betrayed seems to take on a life of its own. Like breaking out of its shell and taking flight. What a whirlwind adventure of danger, love, and betrayal. Betrayed is a great addition to the Breaking the Darkness series. The next book should be amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

And the journey continues. Betrayed picks up right where Taken left off, in the middle of a, “What the heck?” part. Kasha is drawn more into the supernatural world. While trying to discover more about her real self, powers and all, she finds that danger lurks around every corner and trust shouldn’t be given freely. It starts to really heat up in Betrayed and it will leave you wanting more.

Who doesn’t love Gargoyles? I have had a fascination with them since I was a little girl watching them on TV. So now I get to read about them as an adult in adult situations and I love it!!

I love Graven and Kasha!! She is coming into her powers soon and I know she will be powerful. As they begin this journey of discovering what Kasha is capable of they find love with each other. HOLY HELL hot and sexy sex scenes too!! *fans self. WOW Graven is one sexy beast!! Kasha may finally learn who killed her grandmother but will she see her mother again? Who is the person responsible for kidnapping her and why did they take her? You will find out here in this book the what? The why? And the how. And then we have Kaden as I believe I mentioned before who is? What does he want from Kasha? You will finally find out. One thing I am annoyed with is…Felicia girl you left me hanging!!! Ugh!!! Now to patiently await the next book……I will try to be patient anyway!! Happy reading!!

*This book was provided to me by the publisher for an honest review. I am a fan of this author and I must say Ms. Starr has blown me away again! I read Taken (the first book), Marked (the novella), and this one within 2 days because I just couldn’t stop!
This book will leave you breathless and wanting more with the mystery surrounding Graven, Kaden, and Kasha. Luckily there will be a third one, unluckily is there is a wait for it.
I am quickly learning Ms. Starr will not disappoint to fans new and old!

Great read!

The author does a great job putting you in touch with the heroine of this series. She seems like the damsel in distress but in reality this girl can take care of herself. It seems to get a bit convoluted trying to fit a romantic entanglement into this very busy storyline and at times it just feels disjointed and like it's being forced. The flow is a bit muddy but the foundation, characters and premise are all solid and it ends up working!
