There are no secrets in Tall Pines…

A Minute on the Lips is a sweet and charming story set in the small town of Tall Pines; a close knit community that is full of some fun characters! Sheriff Andrea Jackson is wound up so tight, has to have everything in order and nothing out of place....will she ever relax? Newspaperman Mark Taylor is handsome and charming but has done the sheriff wrong. Can she every forgive him and give in to her feelings of attraction for Mark? Can she afford to be distracted during election year and with the ...more

The individual threads of this story all appealed to me. I liked that the secondary plot was a mystery and that Andi was running for sheriff. I liked the complicated implications of her dating a local journalist, and enjoyed her relationship with her grandmother. But these things just didn't mesh that well into one cohesive story. I had a hard time buying the idea that her father's past behavior would have reflected so poorly on her that she needed to leave town, and it didn't strike me as a pla ...more

I received the novel A Minute On The Lips by Cheryl Harper from Goodreads First Reads to review.

First off, the large print on A Minute On The Lips was kind of crazy; I'm not sure I've ever read a large print novel before and it took a little bit to get used to it.

This was a lighthearted, fun romantic read. I loved loved the character Mark Taylor from the first second. He was so witty and charismatic. I seriously wanted him as MY boyfriend!

I found Andrea's character harder to like, she was dri

I got this book free on the Goodreads giveaway. It is a book from the Harlequin "heartwarming" series the first one I have read. I give this book 3 1/2 stars. The beginning of the book was a little slow however it picked up and I enjoyed it. The story of Sheriff Andrea Jackson and Newspaper Editor Mark Taylor. Both had there own baggage that they were trying to get past, Andrea could not trust and Mark needed to be trusted. There was a bit of a mystery/crime that they were trying to solve howeve ...more

A Minute on the Lips by Cheryl Harper gave me exactly what I'd expect from a wholesome romance book, and thus I am awarding it 5 stars. In it we find a small town with quirky characters, a little mystery, a lovable grandma, a confused female Sheriff, a cat named Mojo and a bit of tender romance, all the makings of a satisfying heartwarming story; and so it was. I was able to get lost in the story, the romance aspect was believable, and the characters were interesting. I highly recommend this boo ...more

The romance totally worked. I liked the misunderstanding at the beginning and the way it was handled about 3/4th of the way through the book. Mark was a good listened. A nice trait for a journalist.

Andi did have a bit of a hard edge, which as a police woman she'd have to have. Good job there, too.

Loved the secondary characters - even the grumpy cafe owner.

I figured out whodunit before the reveal, but good job on the clues.

I'm going to have to find the second in my pile of books because I loved t
