The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel, book 6
Fred & Rachel's story

My synopsis:
Fred aka STUD, is one of the last-standing bachelor firemen. He's coming off a martial arts tournament and has Mulligan along playing wingman. They decide to stop into the local bar to celebrate & he soon finds his trophy pilfered by a gal in a veil with a penchant for mishaps.

Rachel leads a normally secluded and overly-protected

Yes, this is one of my favorites in the series so far. I truly fell deeply in love with Fred aka "Stud", one of the Bachelor Firemen. This man is not perfect, but he has a heart of gold. One night he meets Rachel at a bar where she is part of a bachelorette party and the sparks fly. A little while later, Fred and his friend Mulligan end up rescuing the party where they are trapped in their limo.
Rachel is not living her life to the fullest, when she was younger, she was kidnapped and managed t

We finally get to read Fred's story in The Night Belongs to Fireman. Jennifer Bernard has done a great job creating a series about bachelor firefighters who find love and whom I have fallen in love with. I've enjoyed Fred when he's appeared in the previous books and in those, he was portrayed as the fun, loving, flirtatious bachelor fireman who makes you laugh. In this story, Fred is more serious but still as sweet and heroic as ever. I really enjoyed the scenes where Fred and Rachel meet and th ...more

The latest addition to a scrumptious series! Taken from my review at RomanceJunkies.com:

Fred Breen, one of the bachelor firemen at San Gabriel station 1, has broken up with his girlfriend, unbeknownst to his fellow fire fighters, who cannot stand her. His ex prefers to call it a trial separation, but as far as Fred is concerned, their relationship is over. Off-duty, Fred and his coworker Mulligan stop for a few drinks and encounter a bachelorette party. Fred meets a stunning, but tipsy, beauty n

Jennifer Bernard's final full-length novel in the Bachelor Fireman of San Gabriel series is everything you can expect from a Bachelor Fireman novel: handsome hero, damsel in distress and hot times. Her hero for this story is the mild mannered Fred Breen, also known as Stud, the nice guy who works behind the scenes and never seems to get the girl. Fred’s the one guy for whom the Bachelor Fireman curse is a real thing. All his co-workers have settled down in happy relationships with the women of t ...more

I received this one from Edelweiss for the purpose of an honest review. First I must say that I have read all of Jennifer Bernard's Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel books and this one is another hit! As part of a series I'd suggest you read all the books in order, but it is not a must. You can read this one as a stand-alone but you will feel closer to the whole clan if you read them in order. I loved this one. Fred is adorable. There's a touch of suspense added in to keep things moving along nice ...more

I truly loved this book about Fred "Stud", one of the only remaining bachelor firemen from San Gabriel. This is the latest book in a series of books by Jennifer Bernard. In this book Fred finally gets to not only have his story, but show he is a bit more than we have thought. He ends up in a relationship with the heroine Rachel, who because of a scarred past, is coming to new realizations about herself. I found this book to be

It probably isn't my favorite Bachelor Fireman novel, but it was still a very good read and the best way to end a series. So sad to see it end.

Fred Breen, aka Stud by his fellow firefighters, knows he’s got what it takes to be the best at his job but after coming in second in the Southern California Muay Thai Championships, he’s once more reminded nice guys never win. He’s tired of being Mr. Nice Guy but doesn’t know how to be anything but who he is. He’s allowed his ex-girlfriend to walk all ov

Oh, Fred, you're just such a sweetie. Seriously this guy is so nice, which I know is a terrible thing to say about a guy. Though in this case it's meant well. Fred is a nice guy, often too nice for people. Still in a world full of jerks, this can actually be very refreshing. Don't start thinking puppy nice though, rather think how german shepherds can also be nice, but they have this protective streak. Now as I think of it, that really would be the best animal representation for Fred. Overall

Fred Breen is having another night out with his colleague when a group of drunk and wild women invades the party. He can’t help his attraction to the small, dark hair woman, despite the fact that she is the weirdest woman he has ever met. He tries to get to know her but she leaves with her friends in a limo that has a freak accident.

Welcome back to San Gabriel. Before we go any deeper into the book, I think I should tell you a few important things about me.
I hated series until I befriended my fellow blogger, Kristyn. I love closure, and series don't often offer that. A few incredible series later I am an addict.
(a) I binge read when it comes to series. If I fall for the 1st book, I cannot wrap my head around another series, another world or whatnot until I have it all.

What I love about this series is that it is so light-hearted and fun. The guys at the fire station are goofy, hot, and heartbreakingly adorable. Fred might be the most adorable. He's just so honorable and modest. His friendship with the father-less boys across the street was downright sweet. He and Rachel were, again, adorable. A lot of my notes have that word in it, I just cannot think of another adjective to more aptly describe their relationship. Even when they were trying to play off their a ...more

This is my favorite Fireman from San Gabriel Fire Dept, Fred the Bachelor Hero. Other than he does not think he is a hero. He meets Rachel, an animal lover and a haunted past. He becomes a private body guard for Rachel, to help protect her from a killer. This is fast paced story that I could not put down. It was great to meet up with other firemen and their wives.
Even though this is a part of series, you can jump in with this book and will not be lost. Once read though you will want to read al

This was a great book, in spite of the cheesy/sleazy cover and title. I've enjoyed this series by Ms Bernard immensely. Although characters from previous books reappear, they can be read as stand alones.

The plot line moved along and the characters were well-drawn.

Good book and fun read. Fred has been a background character in the previous books in the series. He is the nice guy who never seems to get the girl. As this book opens, he and Mulligan are in a bar, celebrating Fred's second place win in a prestigious martial arts competition. He's not all that happy about coming in second but accepts it. Things start to get interesting when his trophy is grabbed by an extremely tipsy young woman from a bachelorette party. Rachel has definitely had too much to ...more

They fall for each other but can't communicate their feelings correctly and continuously hurts each others feelings. Wealthy girl needs a bodyguard because her regular ones aren't cutting it anymore. (???) Wealthy father hires fireman to be her bodyguard. Kidnappers beware.

It was entertaining at times. But I had a ton of issues with this book.

The Night Belongs to Fireman is Jennifer Bernard’s sixth book in the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel. I have read all of the books in the series and I think this one is my favorite not because of Fred Breen or Rachel Kessler the hero/heroine but because of the story Ms. Bernard told. I was totally engaged from the outset. I loved how Ms. Bernard opened the story with Fred sitting in a bar after one of his martial arts tournaments and is greeted by Rachel who’s wearing a bridal veil and is attend ...more

The Night Belongs To Fireman by Jennifer Bernard is the final novel in her Bachelor Firemen series. My opinion is that it can be read as a stand-alone; but to understand fully all of the characters that appear in this book you should read the previous books.

I really enjoyed this book. Ms. Bernard has researched her topic and has her finger on the pulse of firefighters!

Fred is the last 'bachelor' fireman. Rachael has a past she tries to hide. When Fred rescues Rachael, she finally feels safe. Wanting the best for his daughter, her father asks Fred to protect Rachael since his actions may put his daughter at risk. Close proximity stirs up feelings in Fred and Rachael, and romance is born!

A great story and I think the last in the series. If that's so,

My first introduction to this story, this book does work alone although the brief insets from characters highlighted earlier in the series will pique your interest. Bernard manages to present Fred, the hero, with enough self-effacing characteristics and a body hardened by his martial arts training to bring instant zing.

And I really liked Fred: the last of the men to get his woman, his self-confidence in his physical exploits are contrasted beautifully with his wavering self-confidence where wom

I really wanted to like this book. The first three Fireman books by Jennifer Bernard were the books that brought me back to contemporary romance. I also love that the series is set in southern California, which is where I live.

This book is about Fred Breen who was mostly comic relief in the other books. To Ms. Bernard's credit, he's still very self-effacing and has some confidence issues. His book would have been great if he had been teamed with someone with some spark and energy to offset him.
