Great Story

Lots of twists and turns and very engaging. The writing is good. The way the book was edited, scenes would jump back and forth, from paragraph to paragraph, making the story flow confusing. I think the story would make a good movie.
Ironic that the title is Nobody’s Child. Sometimes the story about the child(heroine) , got lost in all the other action. Sometimes I wondered when the story would get back to what was going on with her. I did like it a lot though.

A wonderful long and heartbreaking story

I loved this book- had a hard time putting it down. The characters seemed so real. I wanted to take Lizzie home and raise her in a better environment☺. Anne Baker has a knack of making the reader become involved with the characters. Have a tissue ready when you this!

Beautiful ending

I loved the ongoing suspense. The relationship between Lizzie and Joey was psychologically entangled and we'll presented. Lizzie weakness of charter is understandable given her upbringing and environment. Too much detail of Joey 's escapades. Boring details at times. Other than that, a very well-written novel. Enjoyed the historical details.

A good book, but depressing at times. A lesson that people pay the price for their foolish mistakes, and others have very few choices in their lives from birth.

A wee little girl born to a mother that didn`t want her.

Lizzie grew up in the O`Malley family as they struggled to survive and she was the outsider whom Joey O`Malley became her shadow and protector. Eventually she becomes acquainted with family and her life is forever changed

Many Characters--to get to know.

While it was a little hard to get into, at some point I began to enjoy this book. It is a pretty sad story....you won't find much laughter. You will find kindness, despair, understanding, greed and sadness.

A saga

I like a book that is complete and covers the life of all characters having to do with the story. This book was a bit on the sad side, but I felt that I knew each person very well.

Spoilt by mistakes

It would have been more stars but sometimes the conversations puzzled me I was not certain which character was speaking. Merseyside was not in use in the 1930s it was Liverpool and the surrounding areas were not named Merseyside till 1985.

Took a long time to read

When I find a book I really like it takes no time to read but for some reason I lost this book in my library having only read a half of it, I always read my books to the end no matter how long it takes me, I think this days it all

Good loving story.

Forgiveness, we all need to have it and give it to others. This story tells of several generations, their problems, and their struggles. I enjoyed reading about Hannah. I felt compassion for her. Recommended reading.

A saga of sins and secrets

I liked the underlying theme of goodness in caring for loved ones but this book is about one messed up family of wealth.

Predictable Plot

An engaging story of triumph over heartbreak. Unfortunately, the tale wrapped up all too quickly with an ending which was not worthy of the earlier writing.

Great read but a very sad saga. I so wanted to walk into the story and take Lizzie away from the O'Malley's and look after her properly.

Oh my! My heart physically hurt with the storylines in this! It's written so well, that you feel everything the characters are feeling.

I cannot wait to read more!
