Another 5 stars for the second volume. I'm loving this serial, and can't wait for the third volume to come out in December. The character of Oliver is great, he is so funny, so charming, and is a right cutie. I love his running narrative, and his amusing conversations with Olga. The women in his new place are all equally interesting too, and I can see a lot of trouble in his future, and not only from them, but his soon-to-be clients as well. But Oliver, did you have to do that to poor Elon? I suppose things get messy when feelings aren't reciprocated, but I felt so bad for him.
Note: R18 with an M/M sex scene as well as a M/F one, but what do you expect when reading about a gigolo :D

Addictive
Oliver is James. And I’m addicted to this candy man....as for Olga, she’s an Amazon Queen. I’m curious as to where this story is going and who’s who in this kaleidoscope. Spinning, spinning. Onward I go, craving.....

As with Volume One of this series and the Halloween special, I enjoyed this installment of Memoirs of a Gigolo.
Livia Ellis has a way of making erotica on the same level as most of the rest of literature in many ways. There is a large amount of erotica out there that’s all scenes of sexual activity and almost no plot, if there is an apparent plot to begin with. This isn’t to say erotica like that shouldn’t be written. It’s more that I like a plot and a good amount of substance to everything I read, no matter the genre. Ellis delivers on all of this.
I’m fascinated to read the story behind how the main character and narrator Oliver became a gigolo. It’s not a story about all of his sexual encounters. This is the story of a man who is desperate enough to partake in prostitution in order to maintain his lifestyle in the upper-class and more.
In this installment, we get to see more of a development of Oliver’s character, as well as get to know Olga more. I also thought that getting a glimpse into the relationship between Oliver and his best friend, Elon, was a great addition. There is a depth to this story that I can’t wait to explore more and more as the series continues.
I’d also like the make a note of the style of dialogue. Since this is written as a memoir, it reads like one, in a way. This is a recollection of past events. The dialogue is written in a one-sided way that has Oliver talking both parts as he remembers them. There isn’t a distinct “he said/I said” style. Well, it’s hard to explain without pulling quotes, but I enjoyed this styling because it’s different from what I’m used to reading. I also like that it enhances the memoir/diary experience that makes this series great.
Volume Three is on my Kindle and I’m going to get to reading it very soon!

French Flavor.
Memoirs of a Gigolo Volume Two.
By Livia Ellis
Considering the title, I knew what to expect: a man’s diary of his sexual escapades. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a touch of class in Oliver, and the style and voice in this novel definitely French. Actually, Beatrix from Honoré de Balzac sprung to mind, 1830 Latin French Quarters in Paris, very Montmartre, of the epoch of Toulouse Lautrec. In fact, I got so lost in the debauchery of French mores from that era that I lost track of our own century and jumped when Oliver mentioned a flat screen TV in his room.
Of course, many erotic moments also spell comedic spoofs: “She has those freakishly strong thighs. If she had to, I imagine she could strangle someone between them. Who needs pepper spray when you have the Thighs of Death?” This passage made me laugh out loud.
All of Livia Ellis’ erotic moments are described with simplicity yet poetic flair. I have known a few Oliver’s in my time, all of them genuinely represented here in this perfect portrayal. All characters, authentic and real, breathe and stand as individuals, without any author intrusion whatsoever. Furthermore, what I enjoy about Livia Ellis is that she is not ashamed of proclaiming her love of Star Trek—ditto.
One of the more unusual reads I’ve had the pleasure of encountering in a long time. I highly recommend the experience to anyone who wishes a glimpse, behind the scenes, at a modern-day “Moulin Rouge”.

I absolutely loved the second installment in Livia Ellis' Gigolo series. You can't help but love Oliver, the down-on-his-luck Englishman who'd much rather be living a life of leisure, wearing Wellies and meandering through the countryside with his hounds. As it happens, Oliver is in training to be a gigolo, something he's not altogether opposed to, thanks to his love of sex. His adventures are almost madcap as he visits doctors and stylists and shops for the necessities of his trade. Of course there is sex in the book- all sorts of sex - and not only is it rather hot, but laugh-out-loud funny in parts. Oliver's sexcapade with the two blond women ("Are they Dutch or Danish?") had me rolling in the aisles. And his descriptions of meeting the female prostitutes who live in his house were insanely funny. Even though he is a shallow character in a sense, you root for him and want him to succeed. And when he's having sex with all and sundry, you feel his bliss. Livia Ellis has a dry wit and it shines in this book. It ends on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment. As an aside, I must say this: while about to finish this book, my Kobo died. Knowing I might not learn how the story ended, I almost died with it.
Bravo, Livia Ellis.

Well I read it and I really really enjoyed this one too. In truth, as much as I loved the first volume, this one was better. Livia writes in a way that I'm not that accustomed to, and yet her style is so easy to follow and reads so well - and it complements the story perfectly. You're really an excellent writer and I have read thousands of books.
I love Olga's character and as cool as Oliver is, I think Olga is beginning to steal the show. I can't wait to see how she develops over time and how her relationship with Oliver continues on from here. But Livia is that good in her delivery, I actually wish it was me with Olga instead of Oliver. Another surprise for me reading this was with regard to the man-on-man scene between Oliver and Elon. I never thought I could enjoy reading such a scene, being a strictly heterosexual male myself, but I did enjoy it a lot and that is a tribute to how good a writer you really are, Livia. It is 5/5 from me again.

Wow! Brilliant story by an exceptional writer. If you haven't read the first in this series, stop right now and get to it! You won't be sorry but you will be if you don't.
This is an intriguing, sexy, beautifully written continuing tale of a man delving into the world of a gigolo. In this installment, Oliver is severing ties with his old life and learning the ropes of that which is to come. A bit more is learned about Oliver and who he is, where he came from, and where he's going. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't say too much more about the story, but it's an absolutely perfect compliment to volume one.
The author has such a brilliant way with words, she keeps the story flowing with ease and before you know it, it's time for volume 3! She is such a fun author to read. I really enjoyed this book as I did with the first and am excited to move on to volume 3!

This book was extremely disappointing after having loved the first book in this series. I understand that this is supposed to be similar to a diary but the lack of quotation marks amongst an excessive amount of conversation mixed with an excessive amount of the MC's thoughts was very confusing. Unfortunately, at times the conversations and thoughts were detracted from the story, not at all funny or entertaining has I am certain they were supposed to be. Because these books are so brief, I might one day consider reading #3 in hopes of finding material resembling the first book in this series but because this book was so disappointing, at this point I am not willing to risk wasting any more time .

Loving this story. I am feel sorry for Oliver but at the same time I can see him growing. I adore Olga. I hope she stays through out the books. She is very easy to love. I am dying to know more about Harold and why he is gone. And the Japanese business man....wonder how kinky he is. Livia does an excellent job of balancing hot sex scenes, humor and a great story line. In my mind I am comparing these books to Memoirs of a Geisha, which is a favorite book of mine and truly this I can see this becoming a series I will read multiple times. Can't wait to start volume 3.

After having read Volume One, I really needed to go on reading the second volume. So I read it, I got to know more characters, and more things about Oliver's background, and I really enjoyed this story. I cannot say anything bad about the story, apart from the fact that I still find odd the way of conveying dialogue, but I know that different authors like to try different ways to approach it. The changes in the point of view sometimes are a bit confusing, due to the dialogues, but that doesn't make you feel lost. It is very easy to follow the story. Very recommendable read.

I really enjoyed part one, and part two was even better. The plot is thickening, more layers are added to Oliver's character, and the escapades he gets involved in get even wilder.
The more I read, the more I root for Oliver to get his life in order and achieve his goals. The sex is fine and interesting, but I'm invested in Ollie and Olga and wondering what's going to happen to the two of them. This series has turned into so much more than I expected.
On to the next!

Oliver's fascinating story continues but I was a tiny bit disappointed that the volume wasn't longer. It ended on another cliffhanger just like the first volume. Very clever of the author ;)
