Asher is a twenty-something with a lot going for her. Ivy league educated, pretty, if you like short, curvy and top-heavy, career focused, driven. The only thing missing? A guy worth caring for. But when a crisis sends her home, she finds herself face-to-face with her original high school crush and her own fear of rejection.
Dylan is everything she dreamed of as a teen, and more, a troubled young man with a checkered past. Will she dare to reach out for what she’s always wanted, knowing as she does, how often it can all go wrong?
Asher’s sex life has has never been satisfying. She wants, needs more than a casual relationship can provide. She needs someone she can trust, someone to open up to, someone to help her explore her fantasies, her barely understood, deeply felt needs and desires.
Asher has no interest in another friends-with-benefits. But how will she break the pattern of her dating life, to create something real? And will she even be able to tell Dylan no, if it turns out all she is to him is another casual thing?
I'm about to get deep and personal - prepare yourself.
So here it is: I am a 32 year old woman, approximately 20 lbs overweight. That said, I was a committed gymnast from the age of 6 to 16. That's 10 years of strict discipline for my body and mind. Before that I was already a hardworking farm girl. My point is, some of that weight is attributed to my extra muscle mass I accumulated from being a farm-worker and then a competing gymnast (before an injury that still haunts me today). After an injury I went on to finish highschool and then be on bed rest for SEVEN months of my pregnancy to ensure a healthy child. In the total 40 weeks of that pregnancy I went from 114 lbs to 203 lbs. That said, I have never gotten back down to that 114 lbs. In my good times I have maintained a steady 120 lbs. In my bad, I am between 130-140lbs (the average norm)- I am 5'1/2" tall. In short, I am, what I like to call, a "squishy" woman with a lot of muscle mass that is used to being a very athletic version of "fit". This, of course, has led me to have some serious self-image issues. And THAT, my dear friends, is why I love this story.
I can't say there's some magnificent writing here. I can't even say the plot will sink it's claws into you. In fact, on the surface, this is just a girl with no self worth that behaves like a fifteen year-old with her childhood crush and, ultimately, will jump into bed with any dude to give herself some semblance of value. Truth be told, this is a sadly common trait among normal weighted girls (and by that I mean, girls with more than skin on their bones, and the more rounded, perhaps overweight girls). She's annoying and the plot is as vacant as a black hole. However, I will read the second part to this series. I will read it because I am cheering for the "big" girls. I want to see the "big" girl overcome her own demons AND the shallow people in the world around her. I want to see if she settles or if she demands more AND receives it. Will she be second fiddle to the Barbie? Will she prove herself more beautiful than society's norm? I don't know but, damn it, I want to find out - and you should too. This first installment is free on Amazon right now. I don't know about the cost of the rest. I'm writing this not knowing if I'm committing to one dollar or ten but I am telling you right now that I will finish this story. For sure.
It's short an sweet. Not really BDSM at all. More like kinky sex. Frankly, I could have gotten more. Just saying.
THE NOVELETT OF A 6 BOOK SERIES WHEN I FINISHED THIS I FELT LIKE WTF DID I JUST READ? THIS HAD SOME STORY TO IT BUT MOSTLY A FUCKFEST (BBW/BDSM). I GUESS TO COMPLETE THE STORY I WILL HAVE TO READ THE REST, WHICH DOES COME IN A BOXED SET FOR $4.99. I HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THAT, ;O
Asher is short, curvy and top heavy with many insecurities. Dylan is broad shoulder, good looking, a bit older with some mental issues. They knew each other when they were younger and have reconnected for a night of surprises, accidents and really hot sweaty sex. The ending of this short part of the story leaves the reader wondering what can go wrong next for these two lovers. Twists & Curves is a great start to a story of two lovers, personal issues and real life problems to learn to deal with ~ hopefully together in the next installment of the story. I can't wait!
The author supplied me with a copy of the manuscript with no request for review. All views expressed in the review are my own.
Twists and Curves is a short story about a cut curvy short girl and her crush on a slightly older guy she knew when she was young. They meet again at a party and now she is all grown up; romance starts with a walk and turns into a hot evening a satisfaction for both despite personal problems they both understand in the other. Twists and Curves is a sexy and fun story, you really should read this one!
This is a fun read with real characters that’s believable and interesting.Dylan and Asher both got what they wanted in a sexual way that how the story is based more on sex.A must read but it would leave you with what would happened next for these two lovers.
I was hoping for BBW BDSM, but only got some good BBW romance.
The writing from the BBW perspective was very good. However, I don't understand why the characters needed so many personal challenges. They didn't really add to book 1. Perhaps the challenges will be important in future books, but I most hope not.
This is the story of a very voluptuous woman, who meets the man who was her dream in hivh school at a party. They end up getting together and flames erupt from their passion for ea h otber. I thourghly enjoyed this book.
this was a good quick read. old friends reunite. they both have issues and decide to go to the next level even though they both have issues. They had a goodnight together, but we're woken by his cell phone with a message from their friend Hunter. he was relaying a message saying his ex was in the hospital and tried to commit suicide. now Dylan is left with deciding what to do. kristy
This book was an amazing hot read. The way the two characters knew each other before, but never really hung out together. They both suffer from different things, but they are the same in a way. I can't wait to see how this all plays out, because what they had between them, does not happen to everyone.
Twists & Curves by Georgia Stockholm is well written. This is a very short read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Twists & Curves is short on story and long on sex. This book does end in a cliff-hanger.
I don’t hate serials but I can live without them, that aside this almost reads like a psychological thriller. It’s predictable but still quite interesting
