This book gave a very thorough and comprehensive overview of the publishing industry. I found it extremely helpful. I grabbed it because I’m going to pursue publishing for a novel and I had no idea how to do that, and I came out feeling very well-grounded in my understanding of the process.
Because the book is so comprehensive and contains so much information, I couldn’t exactly read it straight through. However, it’s very well-organized in that I could just find particular chapters I wanted to read individually.
The most helpful section was “Formatting and Submitting Your Work.” I only read the novel chapter, which provided in-depth descriptions of each element of the novel package that might be asked for by an agent or editor. Each element of the package was described in full, along with lists of dos and don’ts and formatted examples.
I couldn’t ask for a better writing resource. I am sure that I will need to refer to it many times throughout my writing career.

Great source of info. I am currently learning to properly format articles for magazine submissions. WDU online has a great deal more information on which magazines are currently looking for submissions, length the articles should be and how to submit.

A course on writing produced by Writer's Digest Magazine. The first quarter is a question and answer format before moving on to instruction on techniques with examples. A listing of literary agents is included with short statements about each. There is a CG-ROM included.

The book gives some book tips, but what I like best is the 12 month subscription to writers market.
