I happen to be the translator of this book, and as such can only be pleased at the high ratings it has garnered thus far, because it suggests readers have enjoyed reading the book as much as I did translating it. Well, when I say enjoy, I mean apart from triple-locking my door at night for fear of Mr White.
Translating any complex, fast-paced book is a challenge, but the high quality of the raw material in this case helped me enormously, as did the fact that I once lived in Washington, DC.

Although it is page turner as only a good thriller can be, it waste more time than needed in the past of our characters and there were some completely unnecessary subplots. But it ends in a high note and the audiobook was great too.

Closely following in the footsteps of the race-against-time thrillers of Linwood Barclay and Harlan Coben comes The Tipping Point, originally published in Spanish as El Paciente. You know the score- kidnapped child whose fate rests on the actions of distressed parent and so on, and to be honest my tipping point, every human being has a boundary between the comfort zone of their hopes and fears, and the quicksand of their wishes and needs, arrived quite early on, despite an intriguing enough

Thanks to Goodreads Giveaways and Orion books for a copy The Tipping Point.
Top Neurologist Dr David Evans is scheduled to operate a VIP. A psychopath kidnaps his seven year old daughter and will kill her if the VIP survives the operation.
The story starts with David telling his story to the reader whilst he is on Death Row.
An excellent thriller, well written and equally well translated. There are many twists and turns, action-packed and keeps the reader on the edge throughout. It is exciting, ...more

Really enjoyed this book! This is the first time I've read a full-length novel in Spanish (not including books for class), my third language, and I'll certainly do it again.
This story was thrilling from the beginning, with enough backstory for the characters, an exciting plot and enough twists to keep you from fully predicting the end.

What did I just read?
An extra .5 star because I had to finish the story just to see how the author was going to pull all the threads together. So, a fast-moving thriller with twists and turns. Unfortunately, it read like a summer blockbuster movie: lots of action but pretty shallow. Probably perfect for those looking for an adrenaline-fueled vacation read. Just not my cup of tea right now.

For my first real complete Spanish book, I really liked it... until the ending. Its a little depressing. Probably realistic, but still...

It is clearly intended from the author that he wants to produce a movie with this story. I wont say much because I could spoil the story but I recommend it if you love thriller stories and wants a quick fun for a few days.
