Good Magic

Rate this book
This is a handbook of spells, potions, cures and methods drawn from ancient ritual, adapted for modern living and seen as neccessary for total renewal in place of total destruction. It explains how to turn living space into a magic garden and how to gather its fruits, the gifts of fire, air and water. It is a guide to the place and the mood for the making of magic and exploration of the world of mysteries that await the adept. Marina Medici was born to a family of witches and was instructed in the arts of using white magic by her mother at home. Her secrets have been collected from India, the Far East, Afganistan and some of the most remote countries of the world.

This book is fascinating. I read it in one sitting but there is a lot to it. If you have ever been curious about herbs, stones, winds, signs in nature etc., this book will be helpful.
To actually practice any of these incantations or intentions, however, takes a lot of preparation and gathering of supplies. There are beautiful pictures and charts that could be very useful included in the book.

Honestly my absolute favorite witchy/pagan book ever. This was the book that really helped me get started on my path.
It's very "non-denominational" for lack of a better word. It doesn't force any particular divinity on you. Just a general spiritual path you can align with your own beliefs.
Great info on altar creation, basic circle creation, beginner crystals & herbs, the sun/moon holidays, and a nice selection of starter spells.
Highly recommend for someone who wants to get started in witchcraft, but doesn't particularly want to deal with heavy amounts of dogma.

Beautiful book, but utterly unhelpful except for very new beginners.
