The second book of the Rebels of Adalonia series and it did not disappoint. This book was full of wonderful world building. The plot moved forward at just the right pace. Lots of moments of "noooo!" and "eeek" as you follow the adventures of our small troupe. Speaking of which, these characters...these people...I cheered and cried and winced and laughed. Angela Highland knows how to create fully realized people that the reader cares about and empathizes with. In this series and her urban fantasy ...more

Second book in the Rebels of Adalonia trilogy which is fantasy and yet strangely also feels like an historical story. Three very different personalities dominate this storyline and magic and the cruelty it can beget drags the reader in. The story continues to cast it's own spell over the reader and with Elves involved what else could you expect!
This story starts with a bang and doesn't let up until you read the last page. Julian who is an assassin known as the Rook has been something of a conund

The second book in the Rebels of Adalonia series a mesmerizing fantasy read that takes the readers on adventure of magic and mayhem. Kestar discovers his own elven heritage, and haunted by guilt and his growing love for the elven healer, Julian flees and seeks retribution against the shadows of his past. Faannshi needs both Kestar and Julian as controlling her magic turns into the fight of her life.

The fast plot keeps readers on their toes with suspense, drama, action, magic and romance. The aut

Vengeance of the Hunter, part two of Rebels of Adalonia, picks up with our characters in all sorts of interesting trouble after the events of Valor of the Healer. New readers would probably best be served with starting at book 1 to get fully oriented, but returning readers will get a lot of satisfying character moments on the way to the book's climactic events. And while the plot does take some time to fully ramp up, since a lot of it's contingent on reuniting the key players, once it does, the ...more

Book two takes up immediately after the events of Valor of the Healer. I started off the novel a little confused, wondering who the heck Dulcinea was, but Julian's first POV scene blew me away. Very well done. Faanshi remained my favourite character. There are some great healing scenes and I loved her bewilderment at being hailed "Saint Faanshi". A very nice twist at the end as one of the villains meets their just desserts and some intriguing revelations about the Anreulag.

The very first thing Angela Highland ever wrote, at age 8, was a short story about a girl spirited away to rule over the leprechauns for a day. She progressed rapidly to pretending to take notes in class when she was actually writing novels, and writing fanfic before she had any idea what fanfic was! Music has been a part of her life almost as long, thanks to six years playing flute and piccolo in ...more
