Sometimes our wildest dreams come true.

In the tumultuous summer of 1808, Spain and England are close to war and four young lovers are close to ecstasy.

To carve out an independent life with the woman she loves, Anna knows she must leave her quiet Spanish convent to become a courtesan. To gain experience, she sets her sights on . . .

Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

Do you like M/F, M/M, M/F/F, and M/M/F/F erotica?
Do you like Dommes? Doms? Male and female subs?
Do you like bisexuals? Pansexuals? Who-the-hell-cares-sexuals?
Do you care that the plot is not really feasible... oh who are we kidding, completely ridiculous and just a forum to show pages and pages of hot sex?,
Do you like virgins who are experts at oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex, and BDSM?
Do you like vaguely historical settings that seem to exi

Well, hello. What a hot little twisty historical romp.

What happens when you bring four horny people (two women, two men) together in a mishmash of creative coupling?

Lots of naughtiness, that’s what.

These beautiful, open-minded kinksters have the money and connections to protect them from society’s censure. The author attempts some other plot building with a hint of political maneuverings (it’s set in Europe during the Napoleon era), but this is essentially all about erotic frolicking. The twis

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what's known as a bodice ripper.

Correction: a kinky, polyamorous bodice ripper. Scorching hot at that. The way in which Ms. Mulry weaves these four characters together seemed a natural progression. There is instalove between Sebastian and Anna, but I'm giving it latitude due to the historical setting. I know. It's a bogus rationalization. Let's just say I was persuaded to overlook it b

If you want porn, porn is what you get.
In every possible constellation two men and two women can manage.
Consent is a big thing and the women have orgasms, both great things that are so, so rare in erotica, especially BDSM erotica.
It's a stupid book without a plot so I really can't give more stars.

I wanted to like this novel. I wanted to be able to hold this novel up to people looking for female dominant romances and be like THIS, THIS IS THE ONE. There was aslo bisexual male submissive, which is GREAT. I wanted this novel to be so much, and it wasn't. ow. It wasn't a bad novel, and I think a lot of people are going to love it just as it is, I will suggest it to readers. It was very queer, it was poly, and it was kinky. It was a completely different entry into the historical romance genre ...more

Want riveting plotting, detailed character development and mastery of language and metaphor? Do not read this book.

Want a book which is somewhat PWP, with smoking hawt sex, mild BDSM overtones and a surprising mix of m/f, f/f, m/f/f, m/m/f/f? Read this book.

I cannot say much more than that. This appears to be an historical only because it allows people to be dressed in clothing that has to be managed or, in the case of the women, cast up above their heads in order to have sex. That said, it didn

The first thing that struck me as I began to read Bound to Be a Groom was what a beautifully formatted book it is. I have hundreds of books on my e-reader, and most of them have some sort of formatting error. I've grown accustomed to overlooking them, putting them out of my mind. From cover to author bio, this is easily the most beautiful book I've downloaded.

The story is set in Spain and England in the early years of the Napoleonic Wars - just before Wellington joins up with Spanish partisans t

***3 1/2 stars*** My rating would have been higher if more of the book had included Farleigh. Before his arrival on the page I confess I did a lot of skimming. The last 30% was perfect...the anticipation of and finally the culmination of all 4 of them together in one fantastic MMFF scene.

Scorching hot sex scenes, but very little in the way of plot and character development.

I received Bound to be a Groom in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I passed this book by a couple of times when I was scrolling for my next review book. Historical isn’t a genre that I normally lean toward, but for some reason, this one just made me want to take a chance on it. The description is intriguing, but it didn’t come close to how much fun this book turned out to be.

I loved Anna and Pia from the beginning. I have to admit that part of the reason why I don’t normally pick up Histo

Got it as a great deal on ARe, and decided to try it out, had no idea what to expect.

Historical romance (light on the historical) with quad-sex (FMMF and every combination in between), some BDSM, dominant heroine and submissive hero w/ FF and MM scenes.

The Bottom Line
If you’re into erotic triad/quad romances…get it. Lordy.

I'm skeptical that a situation like this could come together so easily in real life. But as fantasy it was blisteringly hot!

Well... uh, this is porn. It's straight up porn with some vague historical and character-based window dressing. And there's nothing wrong with that! But it absolutely was not what I expected going in (I mean, the fucking starts a mere handful of pages in!! and barely a few pages ever go without more happening!!), and it really wasn't what I wanted, and it made it hard for this book to recover in any capacity. So if you're looking for some very intense m/m/f/f (in every combination!) porn, that b ...more

I read the prequel novella earlier this year, and despite it having some major flaws, I enjoyed it as a fluffy, "don't think about it too hard" erotic romance. The premise of the first novel in the series still interested me, so here I am.

This was equally good, which is to say, equally bad. The historical and political aspects of the plot may be accurate, for all I know, but they weren't interesting, and they weren't a major enough part of the story to even be worth investing in. They were, at b

As I said yesterday, "almost fanfic quality porn" is basically the best compliment you can give published erotica. The porn is good, there is consent (except once where it's questionable because nobody will tell a third character what is going on), women having orgasms and everyone having fun with each other in basically every constellation.
That said, this is nothing but porn (if enjoyable), the excuse plot took over for about 15% at a very odd point, which frustrated me, so the balance was odd.

This is a pretty ok book, though I found the story a bit too thin in places for my taste and the characters flat outside of their bedroom activities. I think ménage romances/erotica are not for me? There are too many moving parts (haha) to keep track of, especially once three expanded to four. Not ruling the whole sub genre out completely, but probably not moving up the preference ladder.

Loved this book! Sometimes erotic novels get a little too predictable and repetitive for me, but this book was so creative and fun! It was such a unique relationship and so much love! Looking forward to the rest of the series!

This was a brilliantly written story, with a hot enjoyable plot. The characters were interesting and well developed. I connected with all of the characters and found myself hoping they got their happy endings.
There was only one part I felt was missing and I can't say a lot without giving too much away but (view spoiler)

I came as close to finishing this book in one sitting as I have any in years. God yes, historical femdom! And bisexuality! And much more!
Honestly, whatever your dynamic and pairing preference is, it’s in here, along with all the other options. Yet it never feels like Mulry is just working from a checklist or making this an intellectual exercise in how to combine the kink legos–each character and their relationships are caringly developed. How does she do it?? You have to read and see! In fact, I

Wow! I have read many 4 some stories in the past but none of them have been like this one. I loved how everyone is bisexual and honest about what they wanted from each other and in life. Megan did an amazing job of making everyone feel like a major part of the story, which many times author's are not able to do.

This book gets a 4.5 stars from me!

I read this in one afternoon and it’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a poly romance in a Regency setting that doesn’t sweat the details, lol. Anna, who loves her fellow convent resident Pia, makes a plan to get out in the world and become a courtesan so she and Pia can be together; luckily she meets wealthy Sebastian, who falls for her instantly and is open minded enough to bring Pia into the mix. Sebastian’s got his own past dalliance with the British duke Rayleigh - can all of this really w ...more

First and foremost, I should note that I have never read a historical erotica before this one. Therefore, I have nothing else in it's genre to compare it to.

However, I can say with full confidence that Murly did a tremendous job with this story. The story, in one sentence, is a sexual tale of four lovers, all of which take pleasure in stepping outside of the "normal" sexual acts in society. This alone was enough to hook me. So, as for the things I loved...and hated...

DNF.

It's queer, kinky, poly, historical erotica. I'm pretty much THE target audience for this book. And I gave up at 13% read.

I am very pro-porn, but I kind of need some decent characterization to hang the porn on which this book did not have. Also, my porn standards are perhaps too refined, I found this rather purple prose-wise and actually gave up halfway through the first sex scene.

Not very...

Believable as a historical fiction but good non the less. The characters were refreshing and open sexually that made my heart glad. I'm also not sure that the four wouldn't have encountered more conflict as they came together but it is a romance novel so that involves some unrealistic elements.

Well that was smutty. But delightful!

Note to self: read titles more carefully when randomly opening a Kindle book in bed. I should have been more clued in by the title as to what I was getting into, but instead it was a complete (shocking!) surprise. A pleasantly shocking surprise, perhaps?

However, if you are looking for a cheap thrill (I think it was a $3 ebook) with lots of diversity in partners and some kink, you might enjoy this.
